I guess it's a shame that 51% of australians aren't economics students. Although maybe that's a good thing...Originally posted by josh_nexus

I'm just curious - has anyone here ever considered running for office? If you feel passionately about these issues, this is a way to actually do something about it. I'd say it's a better option than jumping on a plane (no offence intended)...

He has pretended to care about the economy when any economics student knows that it was his policies as treasurer which lead us down the path to "the recession we had to have". He is the most revolting little worm it has ever been my distinct pleasure to wish horrific death apon!!! CANT ANYONE REMEMBER THAT THE WHOLE IRAQ WAR WAS BASED ON A LIE!! Donny Don't said:Heh, good luck. If you don't like our immigration policy then don't even think about switzerland. Over there, if you want to become a citizen, first of all you have to live there for 12 years, and then the community into which you intend to immigrate has to vote. I like the system, it's democracy at work, and a good way of keeping the riff-raff out. They don't mind bringing in foreign workers though (one look in most of the tourist shops in lucerne will tell you that).
But if you want to live there forever, it's a tough naturalisation test to pass.

It seems kind of ironic that they're so concerned for the future of the country, but as soon as it doesn't go their way, they pack up and leave. Why not stick it out for 3 years, do their own community services and saving of the whales, and then vote again when the time comes? I don't really understand.
