A Lehigh County man told Philadelphia police officers at 4:30 Saturday morning that he couldn't find his Subaru or his 6-year-old stepson, according to police.
He flagged officers down in the 3400 block of Collins Street in West Kensington and explained: He left the boy in the car to go buy some drugs, police said.
Dino Vicente, 31, of 7300 block of Main Street, Coopersburg, was "very hostile, confused and incoherent," according to a police report.
Two hours later, police found the boy and the car about a half-mile away, in the 2000 block of East Clearfield Street.
They seemed to be where they had been left, police said.
The child was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital, found to be in good condition, and given over to his mother.
Vicente was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person. No drug-related charges were filed.
