Opioids Please Help!! Withdraw :(

^ I second the suboxone recommendation. Get on a sub script and change your life around. Once you have stabilized your life and eliminated the druggie aspects of it, then you can taper off of the suboxone. There is no need to suffer right now with physical withdrawals and mental cravings. It looks like they are just setting you up for a relapse.

she did actually take some sub at first. buttt as she got her script filled today... fingers crossed for no relapses. for me thatd be a total lost cause. with all that sitting around. ugh. id never make it

^ I saw that she mentioned taking some subs as well as other prescription pills to help. I was referring more to her getting on suboxone maintenance. It can seem like a waste if you are almost out of the woods in terms of withdrawals, but if you end up relapsing on other opiates then you would have been better off getting on suboxone.

^ sooo true.
subs r so helpful in that sense. i kno myself id have a much better chance sticking it if i was on bupe maintenance. or methadone.
its just... i am TERRIFIED of the WD length of these maintenance drugz

edit

I am sorry but this must be a typo. 600-900 mg of oxycodone a day for a girl your size? No way, thats impossible for multiple reasons. First being, you would die from that dose. Second being, the amount of money and resources to maintain that habit is incredible. Unless you live next door to the factory that produces the pills and are able to sneak in every night and take tons of them I dont see this being possible.

My advice for the withdrawals though, your already at day 9 and the worst is already over. Your still gonna feel funky depending on how long and how much you were using. Human brain and body cannot adapt that fast to such a drastic change in your chemistry. Just hang in there and do things that you enjoy doing other than using. Eat snacks, sweets and other pleasure foods. Sleep a lot. Talk to people about how your feeling and ask for advice. Take long walks around the area. Try to be happy, I know its hard, I am trying to quit for the 15th time right now.

What makes you think that is impossible? There are plenty of people who take 20+ 30mg oxy IR's daily. I mean for real.. what do you think, she is coming on here and lying so we think she is cool>?

I do agree that at day 9 things will only ge tbetter. As far as detox lasting 5 or 6 days? That is something you probably convinced your self.. but it takes quite a bit longer espeically with a habit like yours. Then comes PAWS.

If I switched from heroin to oxy I highly doubt 600mg would even keep me off sick for the day lol.

WD sounds about on schedule

I was doing around the same amount or the OC's before they changed them. I even moved to keep being able to get them at low prices. I also weigh only a little more than you 125 -135. Your experiance sounds normal I think using a healthy amount of sub should make your WD go away entirely. If you look at the exchange .5mgs of sub is about equal to 10 mgs of oxycodone. That might help you find an appropriate level. The benzos usually help me a lot so I would go ahead and keep up with that although you want to keep your benzo use to around a month to avoid having to deal with benzo withdrawl. The only thing that really helps the cravings for me was a high dose of sub 8 -16 mgs a day the first few days and then a slow ween. The problem is you might end up addicted to suboxone than which is terrible cause its longer halflife means longer withdrawl. I myself am on sub and i cant get below 1mg a day or i have mild WD symptomns for around 3 weeks. Good Luck!

Sorry about the formatting and spelling I'm using my friends laptop and I just got up.

I'm so happy you mentioned PAWS because that's the real problem she's going to run into it stands for Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome, and most rehab counselors and psychologists agree this is where most people relapse. It involves dealing with the pressure of facing life sober and that craving you are already feeling I think it would not be a bad idea to check out the suboxone programs in your area. With a habit of that magnitude it may be safer for you to go on a sub regiment for a bit. It depends on your willpower and how much of a problem relapse is for you.

The conversion charts can only help so much when it comes to suboxone due to its ceiling dose. With the sublingual BA of suboxone and oral BA of oxycodone considered, 600mg of oxycodone would be about equal to between 22-30mg of buprenorphine. Although the ceiling dose of suboxone was originally said to be 32mg, it now seems to be accepted to be 16mg. That leaves a gap in dosing, but since the dose needed for someone to keep from withdrawing is a lot lower than the dose needed to get really high, most people are fine with a dose of suboxone that is a lot lower than the equivalent to their DOC. Also, since the OP has already been off of the oxy for 10 days or something, relief will come at a low dose.

As for suboxone withdrawal, it varies from person to person. Some people will taper really low and still get withdrawals when they stop, and others won't taper much and will be fine. Tapering to a low dose of around .25 should make withdrawals minimal, but there are still some people that will have a hard time with it.
