Playoffs Picks Vs XLIX

I gotta hand it to Lacey, he's a hell of a runner. Marshawn, not to downplay his performance in ANY way, I still think he's the best in the game and produces way more results and touchdowns than any other runner (and causes earthquakes too), but I think he gets a lot of credit for how much force he puts down being a fairly smaller (in comparison) guy. Lacey, though, he delivers the freight-train force that is proportionate to his massive size, and then pulls out acrobatics. Very impressive and intimidating. You guys would've got more yards if they gave it to him more, he's a real gem.

And yeah we were quite confused by the lack of timeout use at the end of the game. Figured it had some significance, everything in football seems to.

Yeah, about lacy i can not remember a running back that ends the play still standing like he does. I know they blow the play dead more aggressively these days, but they have been doing that for while. It really does not matter what team. maybe even a third of his runs he is still standing with like five opponents hanging on him.

The thing with our O line is that they may be one of the best pass blockers in the league.. the time they give rodgers is astounding.. but i'm not sure how good of run blockers they are.

Yeah, i hope you guys take it to the pats.

Same with Marshawn Lynch, he almost always ends his runs still standing. And yeah, we were throwing things at the TV, turning to each other to yell shit, grab food, a drink, turn to yell more, and by the time we looked back at the TV, Rodgers was still holding the ball setting up tea-time in the pocket. What the hell was that? I think the Hawks were too afraid of more interceptions so they were 100% coverage down-field and your man had literally years to decide his next incomplete pass.

And yes, yes we will. Ol' man Brady is going to retire this year, to his surprise.

Ali, you should come up with some new material this one is definitely stale.
but it illustrates the point so well.

football fans (and idiots like dwe) are so fond of saying stupid shit like "but if we hadn't missed that field goal at the end we would have won the game" or "if no ignore the fact that he threw 3 ints, rivers would have had an awesome qb rating" when that's the whole point. see? if you ignore the fact that rich people have all that money, they're basically poor people. it's moronic.
I think the pats are going to win, but i'm picking the chickens.
lol.
...more hungry than any other team in NFL history...
how do you begin to measure something like that? you think any team that gets to the superbowl is any less hungry to win it?

The best way to get beat by rodgers is to blitz him.. he smiles and swallows that shit hole.

The way to beat the pack is with a decent four man rush and really solid coverage. Detroit and you guys have that.

Marshawn Lynch is amazing player.. i like his style allot as well.

We totally failed at the end.. in fact watching espn while jogging today, they totally focused on how GB lost the game and only one knuckle head was pushing how seattle won it. You're right though.. when all was said and done seattle won the game and holds the victory. Nothing said that takes that away.

But.. if you gave all the money in the world to the poor people the rich greedy bastards would have it back in no time.

With my Microsoft Team Charisma and Hunger Rate Meter Windows 8.1 iPhone app coupled with my Indigenous Data Parsing and Server Logging Infrared Scope that zooms to 500x and auto-updates every night at 3am along with other Windows updates....clearly. 8)

^ fwiw, seattle is the 'home' team this sb.

Makes sense. Man, they really got hooked up this post season didn't they? First round bye, home field throughout the playoffs (which the Hawks benefit from more than anyone else), and then home team for the Superbowl. It was written in the stars, it was...

^ i think you are reading a little too much into it. the nfc team is always the 'home' team in odd-numbered superbowls. they get to choose which jerseys they're going to wear. that's about it. there's no discernible 'home field advantage' as such.

both teams are on the road. seattle and new england had the same road record this season: 5-3.

Ok, but aside from that, you can't say all the other things didn't matter too. Let's not forget winning the coin toss in OT on Sunday as well, I think that could have easily made things go the other way. Green Bay could have won the toss and nabbed a TD just as the Hawks did. Not saying all the advantages were their golden ticket, but it definitely helped!

final results:

alasdairm 8-3
kittycat5 8-3
mikeoekim 7-4
phrozen 7-4
one thousand words 6-5
genericmind 5-6
methox23 5-3
seattle_stranger 0-1
