Phatties/Raver Pants... all about pants, pants, pants! *work warning*

ha yesterday i was reading through this thread and then today while at maccas i see some girl that looked about 11 that was totally oblivious to the reasons why the few peaker kids that saw her were all saying hi and doing random flip out things to her, was pretty funny to watch

I think that Strange Days have played a huge part in the progession from plain old baggy Jeans to "Phat Pants". Used to get cloths from Strange Days about 4 years ago. About 2.5 years ago I got them to make me some Jeans. At that stage they where making them just a bit "Phater" than your average Jeans. Over the following years I saw the pants they sell slowing blow out until they got so Phat that I would be at risk of triping up if I ever bought a pair.
I still love my 2.5 year old pair and wear them to uni nearly every day. I also wear them every other place including the doofs that I attend on a nearly weekly basis.

I went to melbourne last october and came back to sydney with a pair of phat pants. Worn them a couple of times to sublime already.

IMO Doof pants generally are self made and contain fur or paintings or patches of stuff sewn on.

Rave pants are factory made with reflective shit on and are made from tent like material

correct me if i'm wrong

DOOF PANTS RAWK ! I have soo many pants i made myself.. and i'm damn proud of them...

Challenge them to a dance off instead. From a recent conversation with the Perth massive (one of whom had just bought some): "People who dis phat pants just haven't learned how to dance in them properly."

Speaking of which... there's this girl I see out sometimes, and whenever we meet on a dancefloor it turns into this kung fu fightin' dance duel. Been a few months now, but I hear she's still around...

Also: Lunatic: I'll correct you, you're wrong :) Lots of rave pants are handmade. You can even buy hand-made ones in shops, though many of my friends make their own. They aren't fluffy necessarily, but they're made with every bit as much love as your doof pants, trust me. The definitions thread already points out enough of the raves-r-commercial-doofs-r-love fallacies.

mine are gone....gone forever...gone gone gone...gone gone :( gone.... :(:(:(

my mum gave them to the op shop..along with a lot of other stuff i was going to sell...

all gone...i cried....i cried and cried...and cried...

anyways i had about 6 pairs and they were all awsome

one pair were black and had a little raver guy on the side of each leg...one pair were HUGE HUGE phatties that were my favorites...another had a silver piece of material on each leg kinda in a triangle....and another pair had stars on them...and another pair were just plain ministry of style ones...and another...hmmm...this is making me depressed :(

<3

OMG...how could you let your Mum do that, TegzyGirl?? 8o
You should have advertised in the selling thread. :\ I would have taken them off your hands.

I love love love my phatties.
My Inacoma babies hardly get aired these days [except at certain rawkin' BL-house-parties ;)]; they're dark and light denim, with pink reflector bits, and yellow stars on the knees, as well as a cute lil' smiley on my ass.

I also have my *understated* pair, which are baby-pink, graded down to dark pink, with light sparkles all over.
Oh how I love them.

Still in the market for some plain dark denim ones, however.
I get too many blank looks at Psy and Breaks nights. 8)

Ohh trust me i did not want her to take them to the op shop!...i was gonna sell them or at least give them to ppl i knew who wanted them :( but now they're gone...someone had already taken them when i got down there....soo sad :(

i also had a top in there worth about 200 bucks :( a beautiful top.....only a few were made like it....*sighs* something i used to wear with my phatties....

Oh my yes, my phatties are my babies! I think the emotional attachment comes from the adoration you feel going out in them after making them, the process of creation! ;)

Mine are black, v.awesome fit, white reflector swirls down one leg and a trail leading to the bottom of my right leg, giving way to a series of stars! :) (especially for those high-khandi situations!)

I have other very "modest ones" in white (all class), and black (with racing stripes, v.appropriate!) for those places which require a little less khandi. Also it makes the non-phatties wearers feel a little less "weirded out" and feel the necessary to use those "blank stares" that Child of the Beat was talking about! :D

I don't have any...yet, they're just so damned expensive! I'll have a pair made.

I want a pair in silver, like Scott Weiland wears in the video for Velvet Revolver - Slither. Anyone know any shops in Sydney that sell silver material? The only one I know is in Parramatta.

Damn Tegzygirl.
Now that's where I'd be slappin my mum up-side the head.

I haven't got a pair ATM. Me and a friend are makin a trip to Melbourne before the eave at Kryle Castle on December 11th. I'm not sure wether to just but a pair, or get a pair custom made.

Does anyone have some good ideas for designs to put on them? If yah do, post em here. :)

Designed some of my own once but was a little complex (the designs) and would have cost a small fortune to get them made....

I now have Strange Days ones....dark blue + black denim, orange stripes + stars @ bottom, with silver stipes accross from and back of shin (well shin + calves then)...

Also have plain denim pair from ministry of style....wear them around places....look in Ashaman's gallery for pic of me with spotty denim phats @ flinders st station :)

^^ When it comes to tshirt designs tho, well thats another story ;) Million ideas.....stay tuned for tnargus + westilina site coming soon....by soon i mean when we get off our asses...

mine are customs.
they have been bored out to 400cc to get the extra horse power on the dance floor, with a fully sick body kit and mags they absolutely fly!!!

"gotta wear the uniform!!!!"
don't forget the visor!!!
