[PERTH] Diz'play @ Metro City16/4 feat. Pendulum etc REVIEWS (all ages event reviews)

Ok. Here's some sort of official word for everyone from Trafik HQ.

#1. Apologies to everyone who missed out.

#2. We are working through the numbers right now to figure out exactly how many people missed out. Yes there were fake tickets, no it wasn't 1000+ that has been thrown around. The venue was not oversold by 1000+ that has also been thrown around.

#3. There were about 1000 people in that line last night, judging by initial estimates, about 400 - 500 of those would have had tickets. Unfortunately when they were asked by Metro City staff + the police if they had tickets everyone said yes so the police said "well thats it, you can't put all those people in."

#4. A full refund is on offer for everyone who missed out. This will be available from the stores you purchased from. If you purchased from an "industry" seller, please e-mail [email protected] with whom you bought the ticket off and I will organise this refund.

#5. There will be an event on Friday night. Pendulum / El Hornet is so far confirmed, we are working to see if Shy FX and Skibba can come back. Unfortunately London Elektricity is definately not available. For all the people who had tickets and missed out who come on Friday night, there will be a cash refund of $25.00 available at the door.

whats the deal with the fake tickets? were they handed out by industry sellers?

i bet theres a few thousand people who would love to get their hands on the people responsible for printing up fake tickets haha

Are people going to be able to purchase door tickets at this one? I'm sure some people would be keen plus an empty metros would not be much fun.

I feel for the people who bought tickets off ebay and through "friends" etc for over double price etc. Especially if they wanted to see shyfx and skibadee. Or london elektricity more then pendulum. 8o

Lot's of vicks vapour tubes going round and not many people i talked shit to knew who shyfx or skibadee where. They didnt like "that type of music" 8(

Last years skibadee and shyfx at heat was better by far.

Oh well hope you all get your money back

Just a bit of info re: door sales for those interested

I went down at 5PM after work on Sunday to line up for door sales.
When I got there, I counted about 20-30 others sitting around the carpark waiting.

I was prepared to wait until 9PM, get my ticket, go home and come back again.
At about 5.30PM some guy came out and said we can start lining up now, and they'll sell us the tickets early.

We were sold the wristbands for $70, they put them on you when you bought it, you couldn't buy any extra's for friends etc. Within half an hour there were hundreds of people arriving and getting in line.

I left with my wristband at probably 6 or 6.30, just as a friend of mine was getting in the back of the line. She was one of the last 5 to be sold a wristband.

----------------

Also, I arrived at about 9.30 and got straight in with almost no waiting at all. When I got in it was pretty empty, only a handful of people on the dancefloor.
I had friends who arrived at 10.30, had to wait in line until 2AM before they got in. I assume that most people arriving after that time were among those told to go home.

1. I've seen Metroz packed to the brim on numerous occasions, and last night was no where near as packed as other nights. i.e Godskitchen's and Two Tribes. The second floor bar area was empty unless u went right near the balcony. I could have done cartwheels all night long and not hit anyone. Dance floor at the bottom was obviously packed, but as you moved towards the back near the stair area there was plenty of room to dance and move around. Fair enough Metroz City has a certain capacity which it needs to abide by. But i'm pretty sure the rules haven't always been abided by on other occasions as mentioned before.

2. There was a shitload of 'candy ravers' who probably didn't know anything about DnB there last night. Yeah i'm sure they payed good money to see Pendulum rinse out Fasten Your Seatbelts or Slam. Bit ignorant but i feel sorry for all the dnb heads that were stuck outside who usually rock up late to a DnB gig when internationals and headliners start playing.

Ah I see. So when metro's management said to all those refused entry that it would be the exact same lineup... The guy in front of me must have asked 5 different metros staff 3 or 4 times each if it was the exact same lineup INCLUDING international events.

Also, I was in the line for 2 and a bit hours and i NEVER ONCE saw or heard a metros staff member ask anyone if they had a ticket or not. I want to know exactly how many tickets traffik sold and weather they overbooked the place. I don't buy this counterfeit ticket crap.

Edit: if shy and skibba are booked for friday all (mostly) is forgiven. (are they? anyone???)

some of my friends were in the line and couldnt get in....very pissed off.god i hate metro city.
anyways...thought LE was good...pendulms set confused me...ie why didnt he play many good songs? had fun dancing to it though
wandered around during shy fx and skiba but it seemed avg
there were a few candys there but what can you do.
metros have definitely sold over capacity thinking about how packed its been compared to sunday.
we all had alot of fun considering everything...just tainted somewhat.

Yer it would be silly to believe the fake ticket banter,

They over sold the venue, and its something that Traffic would do! They like to throw massive parties

The only reason why venues sell tickets at the door is for the very reason to stop people from scalping tickets. They obviously know how many tickets where printed and its so easy to blame things on fake tickets. A good 500 tickets over sold is crazy, meh im not buying the the storey,

It sux what happened

I was pretty impressed with my first dnb event i have to say.
couldnt find vickers and couldnt really see anyone at the kebab shop, i only waited about a second but.
I think you would have to be pretty retarded to get more tickets made than the venue could actually hold. The fake ticket seller must be rolling in it now.

think about godskitchen or something dane,HEAPS more ppl in there then sunday.
just so happened the cops were there + fakes = pissed off people.
heard there were 401 legitimate ticket holders who didnt get in...but however true that is i dont know.

I've come to the conclusion that the cops had alot to do with the whole thing. If they didn't rock up and see a huge line down all they way past Old Berlin that was 4/5 people thick then everyone would most likely of been able to cram in. I'm still wary about the whole counterfeit ticket story. Pretty sure it's doable with the right equipment...But the person selling them would of had to get rid approximately 500+ tix. And in order to do so they would of had to advertise in order for people to know. So that would cancel out usual outlets and industry sellers as they would get tix from Trafik right? That leaves forums on the internet. So the best places to get rid of that amount of tix would have to be on Teknoscape, Inthemix and so on.

I frequent those sites regularly and never once saw a thread made up where someone was selling over 3 tickets to Dizplay. So it's a bit hard to believe that story at the moment. Not saying there may not of been a couple of counterfeit tix. But anything over 200 is a bit unbelievable at this stage without any proof

the tickets where exactly the same as the Suicide Girls ones
so wen i heard bout teh fakes .. not as suprised as i could have been i guess u could say.

Havin been at NRG till 12:30
got 2 metros and saw the line :(
some how got 2 the front of line, then got let in after waitin 15-20mins
YaY !!
Bumped into a few of my fav bluelighters
then after a lil shyfx, i went back 2 NRG

Apart from a good 1/2 of my mates not gettin in, was a good nite

1000 !!! :D

This is an official response from
Trafik Entertainment re: Diz’Play

First off, we would like to pass on our most sincere apologies to everyone who missed out on attending Diz’play. We do accept responsibility for what happened and we are by no means trying to walk away from that or shift the blame elsewhere. This notice is to give you an accurate account and explanation of the situational and inform ticket holders who did not receive entry to Diz’play on the course of action we are taking to rectify the situation. Whilst we accept responsibility for what happened we were also faced with a number of unusual and unfortunate circumstances which were totally out of our control. These circumstances were heavily responsible in creating the nightmare which was Sunday night.

These were:

1. Counterfeit tickets being sold
2. Unexpected door lists being forced upon us by various persons who have interests in the event
3. Police adhering to exact numbers of capacity. (A very uncommon event. See point #4)
4. Certain aspects of the security and crowd control methods at the venue
5. Incorrect supply of wrist bands to Trafik Entertainment that did not have our required security measures on them which could not be rectified due to timing of the event being on a four day long weekend.
6. Trafik entertainment was not allowed to control door procedures as per Metros booking contract

We are sure that we will get a number of questions on all the above points and we will do our best to answer them all over time but it is vitally important for the present time that Trafik Entertainment go about working to make sure DIZ’PLAY (ROUND 2) is put together well and all disgruntled ticket holders are looked after. We will move heaven and earth to make sure by this time next week they will be accepting of the situation and feel like they have not missed out. We expected Friday show to be even bigger and better. All the same production plus pyro display etc will be in full effect. If we can’t make them happy we will make sure they will be reimbursed financially for the purchase price of their ticket, whilst paying special attention in order to ensure they will be well looked after in the future and ensuring an identical situation will never occur again.

SOME KEY POINTS:

01. Yes there were fake tickets, no it wasn't 1000+ that has been thrown around, it was at the most a hundred or so that had come through the door and was of a sufficient quantity for suspicions to be raised that there was the possibility of more in the line out the front of Metro City. As the tickets were of a reasonable quality (although these tickets are lacking a couple of security measures put in place by Heatseeker) and at such a fast pace that was being maintained to ensure all patrons got in, it was bound to happen that they were not detected in a timely manner.

02. Estimates from video footage are that there were about 800 people on Sunday night in the line out the front of Metro City; about 400 - 500 of those would have had tickets. Unfortunately when they were asked by Metro City staff + the police if they had tickets everyone said yes so the police advised Trafik Entertainment and Metro City that no-one else would be let in. A random spot check done by Trafik Entertainment staff in the line of about 20 people confirmed that 8 of those people had no tickets.

03. There were 410 official ticket holders that didn’t receive entry.

04. We did not expect massive door lists enforced upon us by various stakeholders in the event.

05. There are two options available for everyone who missed out:

Option 1: A full refund will be available from the stores you purchased from. If you purchased from an "industry" seller, please e-mail [email protected] with whom you bought the ticket off and a refund will be organised. You MUST provide your ticket as proof of purchase.

Option 2: There will be an event on Friday night. The line up is as follows:
Pendulum
Resin Dogs (Live DnB Set)
Space DJz (techno set, main stage)
Armee
Frantik
MK1
Rintel
Rufkut and more

06. Unfortunately London Elektricity are not available to perform at this event.

07. All ticket holders who missed out on Sunday night will also receive priority access to the venue on Friday night through a separate VIP line.

08. All People who have bought a counterfeit ticket but were unable to gain entry on Sunday night will be also given entry but not given the $25.00 refund. We know what they look like and we have a reasonable estimate of how many were done. We are hot on the trail of the person responsible. If that person was stupid enough to print any more or anyone was stupid enough to buy a non existent ticket for this week we would be very surprised.

09. If you return your ticket for a refund and it happens to be counterfeit you will not get a refund from the point of purchase. You will be directed to Trafik Entertainment where you will receive a refund on the basis that you can clearly identify the person who sold you the ticket and supply some basic info such as phone number, person’s description etc. This is offered as a reward for information in the interests of clearly identifying the person responsible.
