With this shot of the tent illuminated from within you're getting pretty close to that coveted "campfire with the stars in the background pic" you've been trying for since we went for our hike in Yosemite. I think you'll get it if you keep the fire rolling low with just coals and no flame, and maybe some rocks to block the brightest embers. Like I told you then, the lumen ratio between fire and stars is so high, which makes it a challenge, but I must admit you're almost there. Congrats, Don -- those are some professional quality shots. The silhouette in the tent framed just bellow the shooting star really captures a moment.

EDIT: Cool, I just lost my belief in consciousness in the spiritual sense. I still think there some sort of "Other", but I think it just influences the state of particles. Too much to get in to right now (and too much to remember tomorrow), but PD Social is a bit of a spiritual logbook for me so I thought I'd share :D Hard-boiled science, I'm back baby!

I saw it. Plus, we've had a ton of fires in Utah lately, and all the particulate matter in the atmosphere has made for some spectacular sunsets. Bright reds in the sun, and all kinds of warm shades in the sky, much darker and more vibrant than the usual pastels.

The sky is god or something, I swear..
