Did you guys see the blue moon the other night? It was magical stuff. They say it only happens like once every three years or something like that.

I did see a nice big reddish moon. But, I fail to understand why Blue Moons are special, or why they look any different than any other full moon?

Also, I love your thing about sanity. I feel like I was just thinking about that today. How "sanity" and "insanity" are almost like 0 and 360 degrees - getting away from one and toward the other eventually takes you to the same place. :D

Also, another recent thought: "ordinary, responsible" society is playing a game, but it gets so wrapped up in the game that it forgets that none of it is really serious. And that makes for bad sportsmanship.

A blue moon isn't a moon colored blue, it's when there is a second full moon in one month.
Hence the saying, "Once in a blue moon", in reference to something happening rarely.

Right on, that's the most difficult thing for me about dealing with a lot of people. Some folks are completely unable to remove themselves from their personal narrative, and think the ideas and attitudes that are their cultural heritage and acquired habits are some kind of self-evident natural law.

They're prickly and stingy like cacti, but I try to think that they too might bloom beautifully in their proper season.

Singing, 'I don't exist. I don't exist. I don't exist! And now that we got that straight, does it mean that I can fly? Does it mean that I can go do whatever I want? Now that we got that clear, and you know that I'm not here, does it mean that I can go do whatever I please? I don't exist! I don't exist! I don't exist! And now that we got that clear, can't I just be left alone, I want to take a fucking bath." -Daniel Cowman, Regina Spektor-

Palm and cypress are the trees most picturesque in silhouette, in my opinion.

P.S. I'm a lantana now. They bloom all year, but they make me think of the county fair, they have a bunch of them in the planters at Fairplex.

P.P.S. Since it's my responsibility to get you kids off of that EDM, here's a band I've really been digging lately:

NKB that music sounds strieght from the early 20th century.. love the dancing too :)

awesome pics! i just love Dondantes work. by the way, do you also snap urban environments? i only seem to catch you posting after camping trips ....

here's a non-EDM track i've really been enjoying lately

first heard it while i was on MXE. the main rhythm of the song is pretty slow and disjointed, but the whole band plays it in unison. jived with MXE-mind very well. :)

Eh, that Tuba Skinny (always give a bit of love with small artists like these in the form of a bandcamp link, always!) stuff is pretty cool. Makes me feel like crossing the country in a stolen Hudson

And yes, that marks me as finally starting to get a bit in to beat-culture. To make NKB even more happy (I mean, each and every post of yours just screams out "50s!"), it's been making me listen less to this hip house music, and more to the likes of Mingus :) (oh and Nick Drake, but that's not really related. Just amazing to listen to when reading)

I've been listening to a bunch a riot grrl surfy noise punk lately. PRE, Aids Wolf, TacocaT, Slutever. Ever since Kate Nash's new album dropped lol. Mermaid Blue kills it, but you can't beat Sister.

I'll try to remember that.

Excellent! Lately, I've been reading Kurt Vonnegut and Philip K Dick.

*tries listening to some of it * 8(

I'd listen to that on meth, if it ever came my way again. Otherwise, no thank you.

Hahahahah! Meth is gross dude. Stims suckkkk. (: I just like dissonance. And girls. And being stupid. Bahaha! Kate Nash is pretty much my hero. And Josh Scogin of The Chariot. You should listen to Robert Rios by The Chariot. Or Recorded Inside a Period by Daughters.
More melodic chill music I'm into is like, Boards of Canada's Satellite Anthem Icaros.
But I love math rock like Loose Lips Sink Ships (best song is Holy Hotflash Batman!) ( <--- defitnitely check THAT out lol), or You Slut! 's song called On The Spot Tina Turner Fine!
And also Gregory And the Hawk's song A Second Is A Century. Love GATH hard lol.

Yelling sounds like talking to me, my family is angry ha. And plus, at first, back as a kid when I first got into screams, it was actually tough to interpret; but I just felt like the voice was just another instrument to add to the clash, and then my brain would fill in babble meaning with shit I imagined I guess. Then now, I feel like Josh is yelling because it's fucking important, and nobody listens, and I don't wanna hear it, and it's ugly but that bittersweet like love lost, and besides it's cathartic and just, FUCK.!, ya know?

If you like LLSS, listen to their song "Meth is Fun" lolol, another close favorite.
Also, check out the band Giraffes?Giraffes!, their song, "When The Catholic Girls Go Camping, The Nicotine Vampires Rule Supreme", and maybegive a listen to Tubelord's "He Awoke On A Bench In Abergavenny".
