its not that i don't like people, its just that i feel better when they're not around

Well put, Rodge. heh

^ me too. My default state is hanging out on my own. I enjoy being around people now and then, but it consumes energy, and then I seek my default solo relaxation.

I get more done (creatively) by being alone, which makes me feel as though my alone time is more valuable.

i'm the same way, man. totally zaps my energy, i feel like i have to always be "on" when i'm around people and i can't relax. i love hanging out every once in a while, its just when it becomes a constant thing its borderline unbearable to me

IIRC that's a line from a bukowski novel, Women maybe

i shamelessly commandeered it for my own purposes, lol

Whoever said it then, well put. I like it. heh

thenightwatch, Do you listen to Sufjan Stevens? I've never done 3-MeO-PCP but when I'd do MXE I'd listen to Age of Adz and get religious as shit vibes from it. From beginning to end I could never take my headphones off. If I engaged in it and did stop listening I would feel empty until I went back and finished it.

funny that you mention Sufjan Stevens. my IRL friend Jess was just in a video for his new project, Sisyphus.

that's her and Sufjan

but yes, i have listened to Sufjan for years. :) Age of Adz is wonderful, Michigan will always be my favorite, though.

Awesome man. I've been trying to get into s/s/s or Sisyphus but it's just not really up my alley. It makes me want to listen to Age of Adz or Enjoy Your Rabbit for some straight up Sufjan compositions instead of with Antipop people involved.

It took a year but Age of Adz became my favorite. I think he put his most amount of effort thus far in his career into that album. And the end result is something so magnificent I don't think anything can top it for a long time in my library of music. It's a real work of art. So much recording and so many layers to each song throughout the album. Masterpiece.

Reference for the Sufjan deficient

i haven't even tried listening to Sisyphus yet. i sorta just assumed that it wouldn't really be my cup of tea.

the song that my friend is going to be in the video for is named "Booty Call."

Lol yeah he did end up canning it and fell on the "it was a marketing thing." Slacker..

Just A Gay - Illinois is probably the best album to get started with, work in any direction through his discography after that. I'd recommend Age of Adz after that just because of how funky and different it was from all of his other stuff.

:).

there was a period of my life where basically the only thing i listened to was King Crimson live recordings.... with specific favor given to the ones from 1972-1974.
