Any one see the new episode of Hamiltons Pharmacoupea about PCP? It's one of the better ones I've caught so far. There's a part where he interviews this old hippie who somehow has powder pcp in this day and age. The guy did a few bumps on camera and then started talking like some of us looney toons in the mxe and 3meo threads. Then he went and hung out in the hood with some users and dealers and even a cook. He got the cooks recipe and made it in a lab, it turned out to be PCMo. I found it really fascinating. How are hood rats getting watched precursors to make these dissociatives yet regular clandestine chemists aren't paying much attention to PCP at all?
Anyway I hope some regular pcp finds its way to me. It's one of the few things I'm eager to try but it has been elusive for my entire drug using career.
 
^I'd be happy to run into some ketamine; however, I haven't been trying very hard. I know at least two numbers in my book I could call up who'd probably have the know-how, I just haven't done it. I figure it'll be expensive anyways, right now there's only enough in my drug budget for pot hah 8)

I'm demisexual, so I'm not really comfortable trying to be forward in a sexual way, so I figure that seeing whether she lets me hold her hand during our walk will serve as a good indicator of whether she's into me or not (I feel kinda corny saying this, but I'm a sucker for hand holding as a gesture of affection. I want to hold the shit out of this girl's hand!). Whether or not we hold hands will also probably be my litmus test for whether I try to go for a goodnight kiss or not. I'm overthinking the hell out of this, aren't I? :P Anyway, wish me luck! Lord knows I need it.

Nice man, yeah I met my girlfriend on OKC, the second person I actually met from there, and it's been pretty phenomenally great the whole time, and I see no earthly reason why we would ever break up. It worked really well for me, some people oppose the idea of dating sites for some reason but it's just another way to connect to people, and a pretty good one too if you approach it honestly. I think putting some thought into it ahead of time is good, but my best advice would be to just be yourself and be honest. If you're totally authentic in how you present yourself, then she'll see who you are and she'll either like you or not, and if she doesn't then it wasn't going to work, and if she does then she'll like the real you.

I like holding hands too, or any form of physical contact really. What I do with dating is let the girl make the first move. The first move could be, like, you're sitting next to each other and she leans in on you, and you put your arm around her (this was the first move my girl made on me). Or she tries to hold your hand. Or whatever. At least on the first date. My girl and I ended up having sex on our first date and spent all night snuggling, which was awesome, but it was all her idea.
 
I'm considering taking an Msc in economics. It's a big commitment of time and finances, but I think it's about time I took my deep interest in the subject further. Will be a shock to the system as it's nearly twenty years since I completed my Bachelors! Who knows; if it goes well I could even go on to do a PHD!

Anyway, this is driven by a couple of things. I'm convinced that the neo liberal consensus is dissolving so I want to study further into alternatives. I've been thinking about this a lot recently when taking various substances and I think my head is telling me to do more with my mind.

The ETH-LAD trip the other night really helped me to put things into focus.

Awesome man, good luck! There's nothing more satisfying than spending your time on something you're really interested in or passionate about, and when it's also your means of income, you've now discovered one of the secrets to a happy life. If your job can be something that makes you feel good, instead of bad, life suddenly looks a lot nicer.
 
Okay, so recently my car's CD player broke so I'm relegated to the tape player. My good friend just started collecting tapes and I was going to have him copy me his so I can listen to music in the car, but as I was cleaning my house, I saw, literally sitting on the living room floor, apparently ignored by me for who knows how long, two large cases full of tapes. And they're 95% awesome. Woodstock, Dylan, Neil Young, Zeppelin, the list goes on. But it's the strangest thing... I assumed they were my ex's, but none of the handwriting on the cases is hers. And there are Magic cards (Magic: The Gathering) in one of the cases, and she thinks that's a stupid game and would never own any. So whose tapes are these, and why were they sitting conspicuously in my living room?
 
^Damn nice find. Perhaps it's really all your junk? Those Magic cards could be a valuable find potentially :D
 
Just got back from my date - I think it went reasonably well. I was nervous as hell, but she was very understanding, and we had a great conversation. She seems to bring out the best in me, and made me feel better about myself than I have in a long time. It ended with a handshake, which isn't the best sign - but she also said she wants to see me again and is going to text me her number, so I'll count that as a moderate success. She's a really incredible person - kind, intelligent, passionate about helping people in need (she's in a Masters program to become a social worker, and before that she was a nurse at an abortion clinic). There's a nagging voice of anxiety and self-doubt in the back of my head telling me things probably won't develop in a romantic direction, but I'm doing my best to tune it out and just see where things go. Even if we just become friends, I know I'll be very glad to have her in my life. Hopefully the lack of sparks at the end of this date was her being mindful of my anxiety and giving me time to get more comfortable around her, and not a lack of interest on her part - I guess time will tell. We definitely have a lot in common, and she seemed to have a good time. Definitely the best first date I've had from OKC, and the first one that left me feeling better about myself than I did going in. I'm already looking forward to seeing her again. That same nagging voice of self-doubt is telling me not to let myself get too attached before I know whether she's into me romantically, but fuck that noise - I'm gonna let myself be optimistic and excited for once.

Consider the possibility that the academic institutions' inherent bias towards what had been working is out of alignment with the overall narrative of where world has been and is going, and look outside the box of the accepted. Consider Marxism, for instance.

A thoroughly bourgeois political party, I wouldn't rest my hopes on them. I think, coming out of this, Socialist Alternative (US brance of the CWI) is taking a strong position guiding progressive youth towards the creation of a genuine labor party, which may eventually become the means by which the organized working class assumes power. This would of course require a change in the labor union leadership, but President Trump, and a reactionary legislature + court, are on a strong position to further degrade the power of organized labor in the name of progress...the white proletariat of the rustbelt must eventually realize that we can't turn back the clock to a time when the US made half of everything with little competition in the early post-WWII era, separating the true social base of Trumpism, the petit/petty bourgeois from the the proletarian elements that have been misguided into aligning with them. 'course the lesson of 1917 is that the chain breaks at its weakest link, so Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and the UK (+ maybe China?) are more likely to set the tone in the revolutionary vs reactionary balance in the years to come than anyone else. IMO, anyway.



P.S. If studio Laika doesn't finally get an Oscar win for Kubo, I'm gonna be officially pissed off. As a lifelong fan of animation, this film, and this studio, truly deserves it this year.

This is why I want to pursue the topic further. I realise that the bachelors program has an inherent bias towards the current system. Having said that, when I was at university there were still a number of pre neo-liberal lecturers around and even when I took A Level economics i used to debate endlessly with my teachers over the validity of basing an entire economic theory on the massive broad brush assumptions espoused by neo-classicists. It's long been my belief that neo-classical economics was a means to return wealth and power to the elite and the past few years have made me certain: set out what you want to achieve and then shape the theory to fit the goal.
Doing a masters will allow me to research further into this theory and allow me to explore other possibilities.
 
Xorkoth if you want any more tapes I can send you a tape of the ambient jam band I used to play in. We used to play every weekend and in the last year or two we played we always recorded the jam to tape, so between the 3 of us there are about 50 tapes (some of them got lost or recording didn't work).
We always were improv, so each tape is its own unique special snowflake

Aye, you have my empathy, but I've been able to find some positives in it all. Certainly the fact that a totally anti-establishment outsider can be elected to the highest office in American government is a resounding exclamation of our democracy. The people spoke, and their voice was heard!

Impulsively I took some codeine today, the last of some pure codeine tablets I had and first opiates in 10 days (I think). I just feel so undepressed. :) Also quite empty but cheery and tolerant. I like getting high at work. :)

That would be awesome, I'd love to hear some of it. :)

My brother is here with me, he's visiting this weekend. We're about to go over to the band house and hang out all night/have band practice, I'm excited he gets to see this part of my life. And tomorrow there's a show. And he gets to meet pretty much all of my friends! Good times. :)
