Bad trip?

I'm honestly most scared about healthcare. If they repeal the Affordable Health Act, I won't have any health insurance.
Ugh. I feel sick to my stomach.
You got that right, vortech. Never have I wanted to leave more....
He would have won because the majority of Dems liked him better. Simply put, no one trusted Hillary. Polls of a potential Bernie/Trump election put him at a ~15% lead over Trump in such a scenario, when in the same poll they put Hillary, well, as 1-3% ahead. So we should have seen this coming. And of course, we should have picked Bernie. The Dems did this to themselves, and now we all have to live with the consequences.
Why do I have to be emerging into the fucking workforce now of all times?
Does this go to show that your vote DOES matter? Because it seems to me that if the votes don't matter and the outcome was predetermined by the powers that be, they'd never have let Trump win since Hillary was their person.
Bad trip?

You can take a look at this thread: http://bluelight.org/vb/threads/807316-Why-is-Finland-s-outlook-amp-drug-policies-so-unprogressive
But attitudes are changing and I think we'll see progress in the future. I don't know your laws regarding drugs too well but what I've heard they are pretty harsh when it comes to drugs. You really have to sell or smuggle big quantities here to get jail time. Cannabis is illegal of course but you won't get busted if you're not stupid. Growing is another thing that might get you big problems in front of law. I've seen a lot of positive news about cannabis lately in the media & tv programs and even some about psychedelics. Our drug scene is pretty pathetic, opiate addicts here use mostly buprenorphine, which is a good thing because it prevents OD fatalities. Police is mostly interested in catching dealers, not users I think - still too much resources go to prosecute users. Hope this will change in the future.
Our customs are maybe the strictest in the world and ordering research chemicals from abroad is not easy like it was 10 years ago. They have the best screening when it comes to international mailing, X-rays, dogs etc. But still a lot of stuff comes through, I just don't do that because if it got busted then they have a permission to search your house.
Anyway I think Finland is one of the best countries to live and I would never want to leave. Equality, social welfare, education, health care, science etc are all top notch. It's a safe country where people have high trust in institutions.
You know that if you're unemployed here you can get your rent paid, all your bills (like electricity, water) and still get 500€ / month for food/whatever? This causes some problems because there are people who abuse this system and don't even want to work in "minimum wage jobs" when you can get the same amount of money doing nothing. There have been discussion about basic income lately, I think we will see something like it in the future.
Oh and education is free, I study social sciences in university and they pay me like 400 € / month student allowance for studying. You can get a student loan on top of that if it's not enough (most likely it isn't for majority but I own a house so I can manage).
Better come to south america !
We have drugs laws here, but they are poorly enforced, lol.
As a serious question to those in the US, would Sanders really have stood a chance? I thought the mere mention of the word socialism was treason over there!
Well it's a sad day. We now have an idiotic, unqualified, megalomaniacal, bigoted, mysogynistic, pedophile rapist who expressed interest in fucking his own daughter as our president, whose previous experience basically amounts of running many companies into the ground, and being a reality TV star. Let the games begin...
I'm certainly not moving though. I feel pretty secure where I live, for now.
Called my 87 year old mom last night, eternal optimist, retired political science professor and Washington policy maker and she said this: "I feel sick. I have never been this discouraged or this depressed in my very long life."
Trying to find some equilibrium this morning, but so far failing.![]()
vortech said:There are some havens for my people, but they are few and far between the sprawl of Trump Land.
I'm honestly not half as afraid of Trump as I am of his supporters feeling empowered as Whitefox suggested. As far as I'm concerned Trump is so full of shit that he might not even mean half the horrible things he said to get elected, but his followers clearly do
