Just installed a new 500w power supply on my computer. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be :| not sure if I'm ready to dive into the graphics card switch today. Hmmm...
 
I got an AMD R7 250. Finally got it in and the drivers installed. It's running silently and smoothly :) running Star Trek Online at full graphic capacity. I'm happy with the upgrade.
 
Nice dude! Always feels good to upgrade the ol rig.

For the piano sound, I have to turn it down to 0.6% volume and when I play loud it skill clips a bit. My Nord Electro at the band house requires being turned down to like 16% and it clips less. But that's crazy low too.

^Nice, have fun! Lot's of fireworks to be enjoyed today, right? Those are always great when tripping, sadly we only really get them once a year here for new years.

Fucking G20 man... the city is overrun with cops in riot gear and it's only going to get worse over the course of the week. Really scary.
 
I've got some really lousy bud atm. Its strong but is so satival that it just couch locks me and makes me kinda anxious and insanely hungry. I've hit some CBD vapour to balance it but it really doesn't help.

Its red n hairy and not very welcoming. It took me on an awful life assessment last night. Fortunately, I only got 3g and my guy has better pale green mirror shit now so will reup shortly.

Just thought I'd whinge.
 
I hate the strength of bud in the US these days just because of that. The THC:CBD ratio is all fucked up. If I'm going to choose to smoke I'm not going to do so for a psychedelic experience. Usually =D
 
I got shitty wax that sticks to everything when handled last week. Takes 30 minutes to get high cause I'm wiping clean my fingers and wax pen after getting it all over the darn place. Then when I finally get it in the pen and hit it, I'm far too high. Just trying to blow through it at this point so I can ask my guy if he's got any wax that'll stay solid at room temp. This stuff is still goo, even after freezing... 8(

I work today, but happy 4th everyone. I'm certain it will be very busy in retail today, I sure hope I find a new job soon... :\

That's it, I want to chill out but with this shit I get the whole somewhat elevated heartrate, stupid munchies and general analytical uneasiness when really I just wanna get stoned and watch documentaries and maybe doze off after dinner :)
 
Haha I feel for you, fucking black market right? I do get pretty good weed but there isn't much of a choice about strains, it's all strong sativas. Which isn't really that bad at all, but yeah sometimes a mellow indica would be really nice.

another edit: wait are you guys saying the legal/medical weed in the US has the same problem? I always assumed they offer quite the variety from rather weak to strong depending on taste and tolerance?

Wow, does the US have any real holiday, i.e. shops stay closed and most people don't have to go to work? I knew there's not a lot of those but I always thought if there's any then surely the 4th of July has to be among them.

Some holidays have most of the small shops and most people off work, but there is never any point where everything is shut down. Especially food service/retail.

The most wide-ranging holiday is probably Christmas, most people don't have to work then. But the grocery stores are still open.

I had to work part of the day too but it's just because I had projects piling up and didn't have to finish one yesterday so had to spend a good 4 hours doing it today... annoying, but half my friends and my girlfriend are working anyway, and at least I wasn't getting calls and emails while I worked. Done now. :) Probably gonna clean my house up a bit and play piano.

Pretty much, yea. Medical/recreational doesn't really help considering that the legality just improves growing conditions, which growers then use to make it even stronger. Thus rendering the indica/sativa difference a moot point as there's insane amounts of THC in both, overpowering the anxiolytic effects. At least in my opinion. In the past two years I've only found one strain of good bud that I really liked, which happened to be Blue Magoo from a dispensary in Colorado. But even then, if I smoked more than the tiny bowls I was aiming for, I'd ruin the anxiolytic and smooth high that drew me to it in the first place. At this point I'd rather have EU hash or the like.

Last time I was in Colorado and hit the dispensaries, one of the strains there was 31.8%... I remember the days of Grasscity and hearing about the supposed US Govt bud, G-something, that was touted as around 24%, and being amazed. The Blue Magoo I had was 28.x%.
 
Oh yeah the old G-13. Urban myth had it that it was a US government developed strain. Who knows, it was good though, I grew some once. :)

These days people are trying to produce a strongest strains possible and this is especially done in the legal/medical areas because you can do all that stuff without hiding and fearing getting busted. Also a lot of money is coming into that scene, the big companies are definitely trying to gain control over it. There are also people who are developing high CBD/low THC strains. But I kind of agree that it's too strong nowadays usually if you're getting the top grade stuff. Where I live, a lot comes from California/Colorado at certain times, but there are also a lot of locally growing sources. Their quality varies, sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's alright, it's never as good as the shit from out west though. I kind of like having weed that doesn't blast me with a single hit. But, I do actually prefer getting the stronger strains because it is roughly the same price for some reason when I find it, and I can smoke a little one-hitter and be good, it lasts way fucking longer. If you just smoke a tiny amount, you can titrate even though it's stronger.
 
Yeah, Christmas is about the only holiday most people can get off. My store I work at is only closed Christmas/Thanksgiving. Why not Easter too you fake Christian fucks!?
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one to smoke some "primo" bud and think, "This is actually rather uncomfortable." 8( I did get some lovely stuff out of a Colorado dispensary once; it must have been a well-bred hybrid because even my wife enjoyed it, and she's detested pretty much any other strain I've passed her way. Just the right amount of chill without making your brain feel like wet cement. <3 The name "Blue Magoo" sounds awfully familiar but I had it probably five years ago and I was high a lot during that period of time so it's quite probable the power of suggestion is trumping any real memory lol.

Like tozeku said, you rarely get your pick when it comes to the black market... My old roomie and I had different sources at one point and I would sometimes trade her the dank I was getting for her mids because I just didn't want to be that high. That's another benefit to legalization, I think: While the dispensary strains may get stronger as a whole with better growing conditions, quality control, etc. the buyer usually has their pick of the litter at the shop when it comes to the high they want. Not that that's an argument governments are likely to look at when debating legalization 8).

Get out soon, man! Retail is a toxic environment. I fully believe everyone should spend at least a year in retail so they can learn to appreciate the people who work it (the sales floor and customer service people, not management), but I would never suggest anyone stay for long. I did it for three years and made some good friends among my coworkers but the job was still miserable. Don't get me started on the atrocity that is Black Friday. (Even our GM came to work stoned that day.)
