^ hopefully we'll all have access to some pretty bangin psychiatrists who specialize in MDMA psychotherapy within the next decade or so =D

yesterday I went to the practice rooms at UCDavis and played some piano for a while and learned a song I've been listening to a lot recently. I wish jamming was more transportable haha. My guitar is still on the east coast at a friend's house :o

xork, if you want my version of band drama, get a load of this. Senior year of high school my best friend and drummer tries to steal my girlfriend and manages to kiss her. Shortly afterwards, they tell me about this kiss and pretty much all tell me to break up with her. I decide to give her another chance, against their advice, and they go on to make a band without me. :\ then my girlfriend cheated on me like 6 more times after that. I have long since forgiven them, and everything would have just worked itself out, but the other guitarist in the band kept the guitar I lent him for probably over 6 years now, and it got stolen when he was on tour in chicago :!

like wtf man how did you basically kick me out of the band then keep using my guitar for the next four bands you were in? Did it not cross your mind to get a new guitar the whole time? The worst part is he hasn't mentioned anything about reimbursing me in any way, as if using my guitar for 6 years doesn't count for anything because I could have came to his house and taken it at any time?

I just wanna be brutally honest to him and be like, "I expected you to eventually get a new guitar or multiple new guitars considering you were a touring musician for so long but oh wait you guys basically play exclusively 'punk' house venues and get paid next to nothing..."

at least the drummer of that band is now a famous touring DJ, "Louis Futon," who hooks me up with stuff sometimes (Including a 450$ VIP Camp Bisco ticket)

edit: BTW I'm liking eric robbie matt jam 1 v2. It sounds good, does the keyboard your using have velocity sensitive keys? I think your guys' sound would benefit a lot from getting one. (you should tell that chick to buy you guys new shit to stay in the band lol)

SKL you mentioned GI problems? I watched a new Ayahuasca documentary on reset.me and in it was a guy with Crohns disease whose symptoms completely cleared up after staying at a Ayahuasca retreat for two weeks. Other participants in the documentary had mostly very positive results in their medical issues as well. It supports my belief that these are rooted in energetic/spiritual/mental issues in which Western medicine only treats symptoms. I have been living without a colon for 17 years after a bad case of Ulcerative Colitis. Psychedelics tend to have a positive effect on my GI balance.

I also have an interesting story involving both cats and health. In 2012 I first really started using MXE. In January I had a roommate move in with cat I was really allergic to it, so I made sure to keep the cat out of my room. Then something weird happened. Within two months I was no longer allergic to the cat at all. I figured it was some sort of fluke, that my lifelong allergy to cats was still existed. But a couple of months later I went home to visit my family and realized I was no longer allergic to my own cat that I had been allergic to for 16 years. And I mean I was very very allergic to cats.

What does this have to do with MXE? Well nothing conclusively, but when analyzing the things that had changed in my life between January and March, the only element was that I had just started using MXE regularly. I noticed definitely that being under the influence tempered the allergic response at least temporarily, so it is not impossible that enough use actually permenantly modulated my immune response, like the allergy was psychosomatic trigger, and I had consciously told myself that the cat dander was not a foreign body that needed to be attacked, that I saw a deep connection to cats and need not react in such a way.
RIP Snowy 1996-2015.

Yeah it does, I am looking for a much nicer keyboard though, I'm just going to have to find a great deal because they're expensive.

The other band me and the bass player are in is sounding really good. :) My friend recorded a little iPhone clip (like 6 minutes) from tonight, it's pretty decent sound quality. I'm hard to hear for parts of it, we were having some issues with the PA and everyone else was playing through amps. Stuff from this group rarely gets recorded so I don't think I've shared anything from it here yet.

Oh man, I can't find where it is. I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a nice night. :)

Ahhh NKB don't make me feel bad for forgetting those gems! I still wonder about PS, he got back into the social for awhile, like you said then left! Yeah we psychonauts are definitely pretty transient! I've come and gone many times but hey....I'm about to hit 4K in posts hooray! I don't know how BL is my least posted on site. I'm getting all nostalgic thinking about being in study hall reading Adder's posts, Nukes, Ebola, Xorkoth, MSG, BlueDolphins, B9, Swelrz,CC's,Shambles, Swillows, FnB's posts on BL reading about aMT, and such, then taking my first hit of acid, then registering for BL in my HS's computer lab during study hall! Ahh progression! Starting my hearing for learning about chemistry and pharmacology, and choosing to take Chem in HS because of this, and my mad friend who was working at a lab part time talking about how someday we'd get into O Chem and cook some things....;)

I'm about to download some VSTs myself hopefully. I looked up the ones Mr. Carmack uses and they all look prime so i'm gonna try and find a good torrent for each one. Addictive keys, though, seems like some really top of the line software! If you had a computer with addictive keys on it and a decent MIDI controller you could have basically the equivalent of a top of the line keyboard for a fraction of the price %) lol

I would probably (personally) save my money and get a nice MIDI controller (assuming you already have a laptop you'd be willing to use as your keyboard comp) because you could then download VSTs off the internet and get pretty much any sound you can imagine, while most keyboards are pretty limited to the preset sounds they come with.

I just wrote a lil something in ableton with no midi controller whatsoever (squarepushin') and it sounds pretty splendid if I say so myself :)

My newest Soundcloud song

^12 seconds of the first thing I made on ableton ever! I would have made it repeat more times if I knew it was gonna be so short lol

If good AMT were plentyful again, I bet you there'd be many more golden years of PD social to come lol

My keyboard is a midi controller. We actually used it for that for a studio track but I need to be able to sound the same live and in studio. My computer is owned by my work (I use it for everything though) but it's not ideally suited to run sound during a live show.

I'll look around on ebay for you man for some good ones. What's your budget?

You really need two keyboards. One with semi-weighted keys, one with non-weighted keys for b3 and stuff. Probably your first two keys should be hardware. Easier for gigging.

I could probably spend $400 right now. Man it's a bummer because I met a guy from another local band at a gig and he told me his friend was selling a Nord (the red one that everyone uses, I played one once too and I fucking love that thing) for only $100 if I drove to get it. But the next day when he called for me his friend had already sold it (obviously, that's a stupidly low price). So I missed it. :\ I just want something good though that I can use to take the next step. I don't actually know a lot about keyboards, I came up on acoustic pianos and I only got into playing music in this way a year ago.

Xork,

Save up for an xf series man. You can get them off of all kinds of sites for the LMRP (lowest manufacturer's retail price). The es8 is great too, but the xf series is the titties man. The piano sound is the best I have ever heard on a synth. You can get financing on those things too. Don't skimp. It will last you forever.

You should be able to get an es8 for around 1300 bucks.

I'll shop more later.

Had my surgery on my precancerous skin earlier. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, so that's good. Now I'm feeling too tired to do much today though.

I declared bankruptcy last year, so I doubt I can get financing. Worth a try though.

well, the addictive keys rhodes model is only 90 bucks (or free if you can find a torrent) and it has a shitton of really nice sounds that are styled after the vintage ones rhodes used to have. I'm totes gonna get it lol

IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE GETTING MUSIC BACK IN MY LIFE!!

I'm about to do a lil 2-FMA then vape some of this hash I just got delivered (god bless medical marijuana) then i'm just gonna go to the music store in davis and spend a few hours just playing music on various instruments. %) It's a beautiful day! I hope everyone else is having a good one!

They just use a local anesthetic for that sorta thing, right? Anyway, hopefully this is done and over with for many many years to come.
Yeah, lidocaine. It was surprisingly effective, just felt some tugging from time to time. And yeah, I'm hoping that if I start paying more attention to my sun exposure, I won't have to deal with this again for a while. It's a shame that what brings us life on this planet can also be what brings us death.
