I'll just go the obvious answer: Some people are discrete and don't want their private lives to be known to everyone.

For many people sex is a very personal thing so they don't want everyone to know who they have been with. Other people, are quite open about it and don't mind who knows - some people go to the other extreme and showboat... Its just one of those things that makes everyone different in their own special way.

Ah that was such an end-of-springer style statement...

Very well said. I am indeed a very personal person so announcing who i have slept with on a message board is the last thing id do.... for no other reason than for the mere fact i am just very private. I think this thread is quite silly really.... its no ones business who has fucked who.... i know i certainly dont care to know.

i dunno...to me the people i meet in real life...sleep with or whatever are to me real people and my friends...just cause theyre names on a board doesnt mean i want to tell everyone ive slept with tem :\


i certainly dont care who's slept with who but somehow people always seem to tell me anyways...

I am surprised by this comment as well .... why is it hard to understand that people are just private. Its nothing to do with being ashamed, or embarrassed. Its to do with only talking about this stuff with people they trust and know. I know i certainly dont know anyone here really well enough to go telling them about my sex life.

But if the other person involved wishes to tell them so be it. But they can consider themself to have no respect from me as they know that i dont wish to have my sex life announced on a message board.

I fucked a couple of them. One hasn't posted since 2002 (does that make me old skool?) and the other seems to be emerging as a bluelight slut (at least he'd like to think so ;))

I don't even think it comes down to being secretive, keeping it off a public message board is hardly secretive. Of all the bluelighters I've met, I've got a fairly good idea as to who's fucked who in recent times -- yet few have mentioned it on bluelight. Obviously it's not *top secret* info if people within their circle of friends/ associates know.

Some people are extremely open -- however it doesn't mean that you're secretive if you're not *as* open. Infact, you'll probably find that people who are open are the ones who are more unusual (nothing wrong with that - I'm one of those ppl). I don't know - it seems like fairly common behaviour to not want to share on a public message board to me.
 
Heh. I rarely mention who I've slept with to my close friends, let alone randoms, or worse. Bluelighters.

I've had sex with two bluelighters, but one has never posted so I don't think that really counts. And then I've, you know, gotten a bit hot under the collar with.. some more. Sadly (?), not for a long time.
