Bluelight mods are the best: )
The only complaint i have is the fact that ayone can go on to bluelight and read what you write.
This has happened wit my girl and my family.
I know i can just change my screenname but they will still figure out its me.
I dont really have a suggestion on what to do about this.
Maybe someone smarter then me can figure out how to protect my privacy alittle more.
Cuz i ask for alot of advice on BL that i do not want my family or anyone else to see.
Anyways just wanted to throw that out there other than that BL is perfect!!!!!
I appreciate you mods so much for all the heart and work you put into this community : ).
You guys are the defenition of "giving back"

if we made it so only members could view posts than it would
1) make the site less effective for HR since a lot of people don't want to sign up for "a drug website",
2) if you google any questions about drugs, bluelight is usually the first site to pop up with answers to questions, so making it so you have to sign up would make it so those random people doing searching wouldn't see the conversation involving their question..
and 3) if you ever look (when in OD) there is usually no more than 40-50 members online at a time, but at that same time there are almost 300 guests reading all the HR advice that us members are posting on the board.. so the majority of people using this site aren't even registered and taking away the ability for them to use the site would stop the flow of information that we have to share and make bluelight not as effective at HR for the general public. Therefore being against what BL is for.

EDIT: im sure this could all have been said in an easier and better to understand way but i just woke up and feel like shit so i just typed fast and it all came out as just a big mass of words that i tried to sort out lol my brains not working.. so i hope people get what im trying to say anyway. But if anyone wants to "translate" this post into a better format please do so, im not in the mood to think. I have the flu i think :|

^^nah you made good sense.

also...i like how BL hasnt sold out to advertising companies and has kept the site clean of all these baners and ads all over the place....very classy.
 
I was thinking more like just to block the screennames for people that are not members.
But you guys are right i just wish i was able to post sometimes wit out having to worry about someone from my family reading it.
As you guys can tell i still post and i will continue posting i luv bluelight : ).
I kinda find BL addicting lol.
 
^unfortunately the burden to protect privacy is on the individual... if you keep yourself anonymous, log out after you use, etc. then the likelihood of someone figuring out who you are is next to nil. Lots of members in the past have been "found out" by people they know due to using variations of their name or email address in their BL name, etc.

You just have to be smart about it and keep identifying information off the site and be careful about who can access any computer you're logged in to.

If you really wanted your friends and family to not know where you are, change your location tag to Canada, UK, or some South/Central American country. :)

One more thing i dont know if maybe its just my computer but once i log in. After like 5 minutes i have to login again.
is that normal?
Even if im just reading a long post or somethin after a couple minutes i hav to log back in its really annoying.

You will be logged off every 15 minutes, this happens to everyone. Have you tried clicking the "Remember Me" box before signing in?

When you are typing a response, before you are done and it's been a few minutes, just click "Preview Post", so that it'll give you another 15 minutes to continue writing your response. This is what I do when I'm writing an epic long post, or when I'm working on a project in the workshop.

And i just wanted to post thanking all the mods and knowledgeable people here in OD who have given me so much helpful info.

Cane2theLeft, Captain.Heroin, and Pegasus stand out. I have been helped by others as well, but the point is that the information i've gotten has greatly reduced the amount of suffering i have gone through with my Bupe withdrawal. With any luck ill be totally clean, not just sober, within the month. Thanks. :)

I think overall, the whole OD staff team is excellent and has been very productive and constructive. I'm proud to work with each and every one of them.

I figured there would be a good reason, just wasn't at all what i would have expected since there aren't any issues that i know of with PD social or ED social IRC.

It seems to come in waves, a week or two ago I was closing like a thread a day and now I'm closing half a dozen at a time. I can't explain what catalyzes this (annoying) phenomenon.

Just kidding. Mostly kidding anyway haha. It is strange though i have noticed the same thing. At least bluelight has awesome mods, I've been on forums that had horrible mods who never did anything and every thread was just a bunch of idiots posting such retarded crap.
