Other Drugs Forum Feedback Thread

but I do believe that nothing but respect should be tolerated. I think there is a huge difference between someone being respectfull and someone being a dick.

we encourage people to debate and interject within conversation to correct errors and to further the situation which can lead to some stern words said between posters at times but i believe we're doing a good job to keep on top of downright abusive posts. there's nothing wrong with a heated debate but when it turns personal and starts getting derogatory i believe we act when and where necessary in a reasonably responsive time. as has been stated and reinstated we're not going to go throwing the banhammer down on everyone poster who swears or has a disagreement, we give leniency and allow for rehabilitation before going that far.

perhaps the way you're interacting with other posters is causing you to have certain grinds here and there so maybe have a look at how you're treating people and they'll treat you the exact same back.

i'm glad this topic is over now because i feel, as a mod here, it's not a real huge problem at the moment with a wide variety of individuals. we have the caps on the troublesome posters.

I believe the mods here are doing an outstanding job and especially dokomo....he really suprised me how naturally good at moderating he was when he started....good fo

couldn't agree more. dokomo has been one fine addition who's slipped right into the grind:)

are there anything rules wise that people are unsure of, having feeback also?
we've (mods) got our own personal projects we're chipping away with in OD which will hopefully roll out in the very short term,, as we've just added a new mod and have our own personal lives, some which includes the OD Directory revamped and a thread adressing Common Inactives in Pills which are common among our bluelight population.

i think maybe you should put a post in the "State of OD" about prices no longer being allowed, it is kind of hard to keep up with the rule changes unless we read the rules everyday (i know it's our responsibility as a member, but really who is going to read it daily?).. because first we had the price thread which was the only place where prices were allowed and that got closed. Then i corrected someone in a regular thread about using prices but i was told after doing so that we WERE allowed to use prices then.. and now it's back to no prices at all. I posted this in another thread but i forget which one, but i think an announcement on changed rules should maybe go in the stickied State of OD thread just so people know when things change so we don't mess up and create more work for you guys to fix.. just an idea.

EDIT: even tho i know it's not a huge problem because i don't see a lot of prices posted all the time but it does happen frequently enough that i think people could use the reminder.. i donno, just throwing it out there.

^I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly, prices have NEVER been allowed outside of the price thread in any fashion for drugs. Prices for HR-related materials (needles, filters, etc.) are fine but drug prices have never been allowed anywhere but the price thread and no where now.

^I think he probably just misspoke but... good call on adding it to 'State of OD'. If you notice, whenever rule changes occur, the state of OD thread is updated and we indicate that by changing the date in the title. I don't think the price thread closure was included in there because it was indicated elsewhere (in the guidelines, in the price thread, etc.) but I'll go ahead and do that and if you notice inconsistencies anywhere, please let one of us know so that we can address it.

Thanks, HOOD!

thanks, good suggestion. that must have slipped through our hands. i'll throw up a post soon.
please don't forget to check that thread when you see the date has been updated and make sure to drop into the "Threads of Importance" link at the top of the forum for any updates along the way. they're what we implemented to help bridge the gap between those who don't read the rules at all and for those that do, it helps everyone up to date with recent changes.

regarding the guidelines we'll actually be holding a private discussion on updating the new additions and doing any formatting and/or editing we might see fit to make it appear nicer and easier to read.

this is the place to bringing up any queries about guidelines so fire away and we can help iron out any creases that we're overlooking ourselves.

bingo. and now there's no price thread so prices are limited to HR Materials only. if you're unsure on whether quoting a price on something which may not be HR related please contact an OD mod/smod/(admin, preferably last resort in these cases) first and ask.

ok, no prob.

i'm not trying to make CH look wrong in any way from that post.
like C2TL said he could have just misspoken or it could have been me reading it wrong or taking it a wrong way or something. I do that a lot, sometimes i need to read something a few times until it makes sense to me lol.

^I added clarification in the 'State of OD' thread and since it was updated, I put today's date as the last time it was updated. Thanks for the suggestion, HOOD!

Anyone else have a problem with specific policies? Would like to see anything change in OD? This is the best time and venue to bring up these ideas/suggestions and instead of just getting OUR staff views on the subject, you can get feedback from fellow BLers as well.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in this thread and PLEASE, any feedback is welcome!

this is where i got confused.. why would he say they are not allowed anymore if they were never allowed? he is the same mod that told me 5 days after the price thread closed that prices were allowed out of the price thread.

"Anymore" referred to the fact that we had an annual price thread. I didn't want to differentiate from the "no prices outside the 20-- price thread" rule which is now pointless in saying since there isn't a price thread.

My last post came off kind of wrong, what I meant to say is that you guys have cleaned this forum up alot, and have been doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

^Trust me, we hear you. We don't like the extremely basic, repetitive posts either and it just seems to come in waves where we'll get a lot of new members at once and very few people read the posting standards or guidelines before just jumping in and creating threads (and many don't even after being instructed to and having those threads closed).

We also have a lot more opinion/experience-based posting which I'm personally not a huge fan of. Anecdotal evidence has its place, but I don't think its helpful to have account after account of people's experiences overshadowing the solid facts around here, but its harder to police this than other problems.

That's so funny, it does come in waves haha. I'm for people posting the truth and what works, if they learned that from experience or it just happens to be true. As long as the right info gets out, this place is great.

Peace

Other drugs should be split up. I don't know about anyone else's experiences, but drug types should at least be clickable so that they can be seen exclusively or the forum should be split so that drugs such as benzos aren't in the same place as amphetamines. I don't know about other people, but out of boredom and seeking knowledge, I would click threads that were not related to what I was looking for and personally I am now seeking said drugs. In the spirit of harm reduction, perhaps something like splitting the forum or making the drug types a requirement and allowing them to be seen exclusively could be beneficial? Thanks.

About the moderators:
Awesome job, you guys are always being fucked with by us drug users, and I haven't seen such utter disrespect for moderators before, we're probably here on comedowns. C2tL sometimes I think you are a bit too eager to close threads, but thats your style and it seems to be working.

Splitting up Other Drugs is not feasible, and that's why we have prefixes. :)

Thanks for the feedback! Not surprisingly its something I've heard before so I'm trying to both be more conscientious before doing so as well as always encourage people to contact me if they feel threads should be reopened.
