OPIOD FIENDs hate ALCOHOL??

if you can score some opies then send them my way. All this toxic alcohol is killing me but i'll live.

a beer or two for me, if i start drinking more, i start feeling more drunk, and stop feeling the warmth of the opiate high.

I lost interest in ALL drugs since starting using H. I still enjoy the occasion drink or two with friends or the family, but more to just be social and definitely not to get drunk.

now, mixing alcohol with opiates with apap in em is always a bad idea... but ignoring that factor, my experience has always been that a few beers lessens the effects of a good hydrocodone buzz. dunno why, my brother says he loves a few beers with his hydrocodone.

on the other hand... one of my favorite things i used to do when i got darvons on a regular basis (these are a good high with the right dose, i don't care what anybody says) a good darvon buzz and a glass of wine or two go hand in hand... beautiful buzz

Alcohol isn't really a good drug if you're after "drug use". The high itself isn't great and I would never drink alone just to enjoy the 'alcohol experience', whereas other downers like benzos, heroin or other opiates, or weed, I do enjoy alone.

Alcohol is a shit drug but it's more a social thing than a drug. Going out with a few friends to have some drinks and enjoy one another's company is great...because of how ingrained alcohol is into our society, drinking is a great social ritual. Alcohol is cheap, legal and served in a number of environments (such as pubs or nightclubs) that people enjoy being in, and that's why people use it.

its all about preference from person to person, you can't just say its a 'shit' drug and expect just because you said it that its the end all be all spoken directly from gods mouth truth 8)

what you should have said was IMO its a shit drug

Uh I wasn't claiming that my words were the ultimate truth on the nature of alcohol...I'm a person posting on a message board in a thread entitled "opioid fiends hate alcohol?'...what I'm saying is obviously nothing more than my own personal opinion unless I back it up with medical research.

My main point was about how alcohol in our society is used more as a social practice rather than as "drug use". So fuck you.

Alcohol is such a worse drug than opiates, and worse for you (except with legal externalities). I've found most people who like opiates above all else have a very strong natural aversion to alcohol.

I tend to drink like a tank on opiates like heroin or oxy's. And it's a great feeling waking up hungover as shit and knowing u got some dope to fix your awful state of mind.
Even though the combo is notorius for death, i think in moderation its very safe and effective.

i was hooked on Oxy's and H for like a year, luckily i never Ived. i've been clean for like a month a couple days, and alcohol is so blah. i've felt like this ever since my second day of withdrawl i got super hammered and spent the entire next day throwing up everything i drank. i got really dehydrated and just felt like complete shit. i know it was mostly from the opiates, but i kinda weened myself off with vicoden plus i hadn't been using much for the week or two before i quit.

i think i've just gotten drunk too many times, half the fun of getting drunk when i was young was just doing some drug it was so exciting. now i've done the same with oxy's and h, it's just not exciting and fun as it used to be, now it feels pathetic chasing a high day in and day out.

after I started in with opiads I lost all concern for alcohol and when I do drink (very rare) I'm never getting drunk, slightly buzzed at best..I'm usually thinking about hitting up the opiads which it were....

Some of the best nights out I've had have been with alcohol.

A few beers, a few good mates and good conversation is a great night out...you don't always have to "do drugs". I've had many a great evening where good food, good wine and good conversation all potentiate one another to produce an experience which I value much more than nodding out in the sun.

That said, I've spent the last four hours nodding out in the sun and it's been damn fantastic. :)

drugs, in general, made me lose interest in alcohol.

i still, however, drink beer occasionally, and on the rare occasion i do get drunk (aka when i dont have enough money for drugs, or cant get any etc..) i have to drink liquor.

All I need is my vicodin. I don't smoke weed, or drink. Matter of fact, when I smoke weed now I have hardcore panic attacks. (?) I don't drink because people who are drunk annoy me, and I'll be damned if I be that guy. I smoke cigs but want to quit. If only you could take the patch while breastfeeding.

well, yeah im the same way when it comes to OPIODs..when i have OXY, NUBAIn or some SMACK, i dont think of ALCOHOL, but right now im in an OPIOD CLEAN zone, and plan to stay for as long as i can..WHY??i dunno really, probably just to see if i can live a happy life without dosing everyday..

without the OPIOD though, and the FACT that drinking ALCOHOL makes me feel crappy, i have a small dilemma on my hands..if only i could find some GHB ;)

trading addictions? so what...

^^^ tongue, I agree with you...GHB or GBL seemed to work wonders curbing my vivacious alcohol appetite. When I really do decide to cut down my drinking intake, I fully intend on trying to convince my clinician to prescribe me prescription GHB. Alcohol, though I love its stress-relieving properties, can get the best of any hardened drug soldier. When my wife is ready to get preggy, which is only a year away, it seems likely that I will limit my alcohol intake to 2-3 days per week, and from past experience, nothing helps better than some GHB or GBL. However, that comes with a disclaimer: NEVER, EVER drink alcohol WITH ghb or gbl....horrible, hospital visits can be a direct result of such poor judgement.

an atypical addictive personality...

I have not drunk alcohol since I was 16 and that is saying alot when it is a commandment of my religion.I just don't care for it.Some might say its a psychological thing since the last time I did drink more than a sip was when I drank a half pint of Baccardi [rum] and took 50 milligrams of Valium.I was sick for over 20 hours and count myself fortunate that is all that happened. The psychological aspect would seem plausible until I remember the times I o.d.d on heroin, the worst case being the time I vomited for 2 1/2 days straight-and that sure didn't stop me.
