The time is here, but once every four years. You have the official site here.

Anything particular your keen on?

This is the only time in four years I actually care about swimming, mainly because that's where Australia's bread and butter is. But not today, only scraping in 2 medals, while the USA run home with 5 medals in the pool.

I'm also quite partial to the basketball as well cause it's not to far different from the FIBA World Champs in terms of the competition

I like the Olympics because it gives me a chance to go for a random African nation that I have never heard of :)

YES. I love the Olympics and they've saved my butt this weekend as i was going through w/d. They kept me company.

I particularly enjoy the gymnastics because i was a gymnast for 10 years (academy trained-Olympic Training).. Obviously i never made it to the Olympics, i had to many injuries and had to quit. But i love the Gymnastics, i love woman's basket ball.. I'm a big Diana Tourasi fan. I like Mens basket ball too. I hope they do better this year (the men) than they did in Athens.

I found fencing to be enjoying. So far I've only seen the woman's. I really got into it. One girl she would scream every time she got a hit and it cracked me up.

I also like woman's soccer and men's but I'm more into woman's sports. I like the Olympic experience, always have. It's a real treat for me! And since i couldn't sleep much the first night in w/d i just stayed up all night and watched the Olympics, they show most of it during the night anyway. The first womans basket ball game was great, i so enjoyed that!

Oh and your right, every 4 years i learn a new African Country ROTFL

I just enjoy seeing world records broken in any sport.

But I guess the gymnastics are my favourite, as well as the 100m sprint as the training they do for them is so rigorous and specific, it is actually part of who they are - not just something they're good at.

You're right about that. They give their hearts, minds and souls to their sport. For the years i was a gymnast my whole life was gymnastics and that was it. I trained ever day after school, 8 hours on the weekends and during summer i trained 8 hours everyday. But, sadly.. my mom wanted it more than i did. I was young and just had fun doing it, but my total heart wasn't in it and like i said i had to many injuries, and i still have those injuries to this day... My Doc says most of my pain comes from me being a gymnast for the years i was. But your heart and soul has to be in it or you don't make it to the olympics. You can also tell which athletes are giving it more.. you can always tell who shines, ya know.

Interesting event today the Mens 4x100 freestyle relay heat won in WR time by Team USA by 4 guys who will most likely not even race in the final. The Australian team came second also in WR time. The final should be a cracker

The 400m swimming medley was really good, American beat his own world record by about 1.5 seconds

Yea it's gonna be a close one- China/USA. But, it's always like that with whatever country it's in. USA and whatever country it's being hosted. I'm so curious to know where it's going for 1012. Countries have to put in bids, right? Is that how it all works.

It's kinda sad that the olympics won't probably ever return to the US in my lifetime.. well, i guess it could. I was 13 when they were here in Los Angeles in 84 and i didn't get to go to any of the events but I'd love to someday.

Are you serious!?

You don't know where the olympics are in 2012? - I assume you meant 2012 and not 1012

LONDON, that is in ENGLAND

I'm looking forward to the US of motherfuckin' A beating those commie fucks on their own turf.
You got your fancy intro, but you know what? You still ain't shit.

It was really close between Paris and London.

They should take it away from London just for that shitty logo. Ugh.

2016 is still in the decision process.

There's the article on it. Chicago still has a chance.

I bet the US will get the Olympics again in your lifetime that's a long time for it not to be back here again. :)

Oh so it's London. Oh ok. I actually have some friends over there so I bet they'll be happy.

Atlanta 1996??

and Chi-town is up in the running for 2016... so I don't know what your talking about

Oh, i didn't know that. Now i do-- thanks. I actually meant it wouldn't be back in los Angeles in my lifetime, that's what i actually meant to say-- not the US. Sorry about that.

I dont see how china is going to beat the US in the medal count. They're supposed to have been plowing money/training into events with many many opportunities (swimming) and I have yet to see them be competitive. They men I saw doing gymnastics are obviously talented, and I'll def watch the medal competitions, but still.

Where the fuck are my track and field events?
