I think it would be difficult to argue that Soulja Boy isn't shit. I mean come on. I am all about being relaxed and not judging people, but it's Soulja Boy. His music makes me wish I could make a virus that would destroy all of humanity.

i dont like him anymore after watching one his shows. way too short. but i watched him on ustream a few times he's always tweaking or trippin in his studio haha
 
Deadmau5 is fucking awesome for the following reasons:

1) He defies the concept of "DJ" and uses the more challenging techniques of a live PA

2) He explores a variety of electronic musical styles, so is hard to label as simply a "trance" or "house" producer

3) His music is so amazing that it makes me feel euphoric even without the influence of drugs. That says a lot right there.

4) He's not politically correct and will publicly rant and cuss ppl out who piss him off (like the Rusko incident). Very entertaining.

5) Much of the mad gobs of money he is making goes back into his show and production efforts. Did you know his "cube" costs 2 million dollars of his own money? He doesn't even own a car.

6) His live shows are the best musical events I have ever attended on ALL levels!

7) He is also awesome for making Canada and nerds and nerdy Canadians cool. GO CANADA!!

8) Oh yea, and he wears a mau5head. That's pretty fuckin sweet :D
 
Much like Tool and Sublime, the main reason I can't stand him is his fans.
 
well tina i dis respect his ass. He banned me from commenting his facebook after Igave him my review of his ultra set (which SUCKED btw) worst set there, and he headlined Ultra... biggest must festival in the world electronic music wise.... man oh man... then he accepts awards for BEST DJ when he says he is NOT a DJ. WTF why are you giving acceptance speeches for DJ awards when you aren't a DJ. I also have beef with him because I know someone who asked him and tommy lee at the miami airport for an autograph... tommy did and deadmau5 said no ... and the guy had his 9 year old kid with him. there was no crowd or anything no mob, what a prick.

and ableton+lemur+gimmick doesnt equal epic. I felt the farthest from epic when I saw him last march. GOD DAMN I hope they replace him and tiesto with daft punk this year.
 
To each their own brotha! And every popular artist has critics, which is good. Ppl should never blindly accept the popular. I respect deadmau5's critics although I do not agree with them :)
 
right right... yeah strobe, reward is more cheese, and a few others I love but the new dubstep is horrible and he is starting to go that route... and tha snitching on Rusko was stupid and foul..... and childish as well... but I just think it was a publicity stunt like thizz said earlier.

omg, I just read most of this thread for the first time. aahahahaha! FEEL THE HATE!!! I guess it's cool to hate on deadmau5 now since he's so popular like it's cool to hate on Tiesto. LOL!

My opinion on DJing vs. producing: overall I have more respect for ppl who produce their own tracks, particularly if their productions are creative and unique like deadmau5 or Stimming, HOWEVER some DJing requires an incredible amount of skill, particularly some types of scratching especially when they add body tricks. That shits fucking awesome. In a way scratching IS producing by creating your own sounds and beats out of existing songs.

Deadmau's tracks are unique and creative? Since when? Don't get me wrong, he makes decent tracks and he is not a bad producer by any means, but I would hardly call his work unique and creative!
