I was refering to the posts made shortly after my post.......the point was not to make everyone agree with me whole heartedly..... But when my original post is returned with statements such as "I must not be getting any pussy" or that "I must think it's all about porn" is insulting and completely misses the point I was trying to make....even if people didn't agree with me. I shouldn't even have to defend myself... All I ask is that people acknowledge my opinion without stupid remarks, and I will be happy to acknowledge theirs. Sometimes people just have to agree to disagree......nothing personal to anyone. I do apologize for the dumb bitches comment...that was uncalled for, I agree. But from many of the comments this little discussion has unearthed.......well, I'm not even going to go there. I just imagined that our culture was beyond all this...... But people must not really mind, so what the fuck do I know anyway? Nautikat, I wish you and your event and it's djs the best of luck...just maybe for the Divalicious 3 flyer, focus more on "female dj mysterious and powerful"(like I tried to portray on the Divalicious 1 flyer) instead of "woman as sex object)...;) I guess that is all I was trying to say.....and now I'm blabbering again...

P58 has a point ....there were other options in the design realm that we're overlooked. Everyone should pay closer attention to our scene, and ask yourself if you like the scene's portrayal in the media, and mainstream society. It has a direct effect on the state of the electro music culture and possible consequences involving government interference. "Why do I live my life this way?" ..lol... On another note, the popsicle has a headphone cord on it if you look really closely.... [;)]

Cash? Its only $5 to get in.. I dont think its "all" about making some cash. These girls LOVE what they do. So my theory is its 100% for the love! Enjoy yourself, thats what its all about.

I want to see a shit load of candy kidz out at this event. I miss seeing
them when we go to partys they are slowly disapearing. WHERE ARE YOU
AT CANDY KIDZ!!!!! I just see to many dark goth kidz, now I'm not saying
thats a bad thing, I would just love to see a original candy kid every once and a while . So hang up the spiked collars, and black cloths, and put some mother freeken beads on and add a little color!!!! and for god sake, SMILE!!!! If your at a party you should be happy gosh darn it!!! Instead of giving people evil looks , you should be giving people light shows, and dancing your ass off. I miss those days. Does anyone agree with me? Happy people make happy vibes!!! =D

?

Whatever....if you "DJs" can't support your WHOLE music genre then u just don't know what the hell is goin on. You'll never get anywhere by dissin someone else who is tryin to get their name out there. Treat others as you like to be treated, that's the only way that you'll get anywhere.

Female DJs rock the house and they've got BALLS for doin what they do and puttin up with all the MALE assholes!

P58: That flyer was completely tasteless, offensive, sexist, uncalled-for, and displays a total lack of respect for the promoters of this event and women in general!!! You should honestly be ashamed of yourself!!!

…And I have been laughing my ass off for the past 15-minutes because of it.

Listen people, get a sense of humor and don’t take everything so seriously and personal. The only one who should be offended is the poor girl who’s servicing that anaconda. BTW, who is that girl? Mighty cute. Will she be at this event? But I’m off the point…

Hey…I thought we were past the whole female/male DJ thing. I think these “Girls Only” events do more damage then good in boosting the reputations of female DJs. I really hope that all you girls come out strong and don’t screw up, because if you do you will cement the belief – like it or not MANY people do believe this – the girls can’t DJ…it’s a man’s game. Yeah, it’s stupid, but it’s true (that people believe that, not that girls can’t DJ). I think these one-sided events have a lot more to loose and really not much to gain.

Gimmicks sell tickets sometimes, true. I hope that these women are playing for the love, not the money, most likely the case (for the most part). But, some of the DJ’s may still need a little fine tuning and bad sets, low turn-out, or anything negative will set you ladies back…A LOT. But hey…if they blow up we may never see another male DJ play in this town again. Bad? I don’t know.

Anyway…Best of luck to you all. I truly hope you have a GREAT EVENING!!!!!

well i know i personally am not being paid for this and would refuse money if offered. do i need some fine tuning still? definently! but does that mean i shouldn't take opportunites to play out when given? heck no. the hardest thing i have found for me is playing well out. at a house party--- no problem. while i am never nervous in front of people, i just never feel on top of my game at clubs. thus, i take each opportunity to go out, play, and improve. the ladies playing at this event are not a bunch of big tit, slut whores who get up there and shake it yet don't know the first thing about records. i could understand how people could view this event as negative if that was the case, but at this particular event, nautikat has picked some already very talented and some up and coming talent from the region. will each dj get up there and play a flawless set? probably not. if so, what the heck are we all doing playing in ohio (most of us for free). so come out and support us rather than saying if we screw up we are doomed. just my 2 cents.

and by the way, nothing against ohio because they bring out quite a crowd... just saying that if i was that perfect of a dj i would hope to be playing oversees. have to start somewhere though! :)

Females DJ's

Here's my short dollar on this:

I had someone come up to me at ReStart (Bento GoGo) and tell me that their boyfriend had never seen a female dj that could really get down and spin, and I was very flattered that he thought I was dope (wish I felt that way about myself:\ ). She said that he said every female dj he had seen had no skill.

Well, that shit is about to change=D, and thank the Goddess for it. Why, because Nauti is doing this night. Hell, before the last Divalicious party the only female djs I remember seeing were at the Female DJ Battle a few years ago, and they have moved to other locales. Now the only females I see (and I'm talking local) djing now, who are the shit, are Nauti and in Loui The Lady Fourshizzle.

Is this good for female djs as a whole, HELL YES. Will it damage shit as a whole if one female dj is not on her game, NO. We are comming into this as people who are women, but dont get it twisted, we are INDIVIDUAL people.

So, if for some fucked up reason I should have a bad night and not do as well as people thought or think I should have, don't base that off of what sex I am, thats on me, on my own. And just so you understand, thats like someone sayin that the reason I can't spin is because I'm black.

This holds true for everything & everyone. Woman to Men Black thru White.

Love Peace & Hair Grease
