Official Paedo Discussion Megathread v2

Hmmmm. Hold on a minute. Its already down to 29 years PLUS 6 years on license. Does being on license mean being locked up? I thought it was similar to being on probation. Anyone? Coz that would bring it down to 20 years before parole (like Sam said, two-thirds).
 
In other news, I was once in a band that I wanted to call "The Drug Prophets" but the others wouldn't have it. I still harbour ideas of writing a book with that title.

The sentencing of the women seems a bit lax (Not researched this issue hugely cos ew, I'm assuming they didn't do as much as he did) but that's maybe my deeply hidden maternal side going 'how the fuck could you even think to put your own kids through that?'. There's a lot I'd do to heighten the possibility of shagging celeb of my choice but molesting my own (theoretical) child doesn't even register.

Just can't get over it, really. As more and more of my friends have kids, this sort of stuff just disturbs me more.

vaguely related tangent: I'm wondering what they'll do re: Peaches fucking Geldof tweeting the names of the women. As much as it seems to be in our nature to name and shame people, I can see why we can't.

It is pretty much identical to probation, yeah. With extra conditions. It's definitely not 'free' by anybody's standards.

You should've seen the Mail comments section with regard to that one. There were people calling for her to be named in the New Year's Honours List! Fucking stupid lizard woman. :D

Speaking of the Mail, good to see their priorities are in order:

Ian Watkins will be lucky if he lasts 35 days in prison let alone 35 years

Oh god, the Daily Mail comments section is genuinely worrying sometimes. As is the Daily Mail in general. Probably Fearne is freaked out and a bit 'oh god I shagged that thing' but implying that carrying on as normal is brave and by extension somewhat extraordinary is a wee bit patronising, as much as I can't stand the woman. That's all assuming their relationship was unremarkable and not horribly fucked up, anyway.

If she had been his current girlfriend I could go for 'brave' simply because I wouldn't put it past some people to shift some of the blame onto her, but yeah...it's been six years.

Oh c'mon Ismene, you know why. Because manufacturing LSD and, crucially, being unrepentant about it is FAR worse than attempted baby rape and pretending you're sorry about it because it was the drugs that made you do it anyway.

I mean, any right-minded person can see that.

Read the court transcript of the judges sentencing remarks.

Watkins actually got well within the sentencing guidelines.

Its was a brutal account of all the defendants acts, but an interesting read.

While on licence he would have to report to his probation officer and maybe police station once a week or more and if he was caught doing anything to break the rules of his license then he could be immediately recalled to prison.

im glad to say i dont know anything about the 'pecking order' of these types of offendors. Will he be more villified because of the horrific nature of his offences, it must be an incredibly sick society if hes regarded with any kind of respect by the other offendors in the nonce wing. Didnt Ian Huntley get attacked in prison in the nonce wing ? This Watkins guy is going to be a shell of a person, hes a drug addict, and as mental as a bag of nuts. If he doesnt top himself it wont be long before someone else attacks him.

It is the nonce wing after all, you know? Though you're right in suggesting it's a high profile case, and the fact it involves babies means even more attention will be directed at Watkins.

I imagine there will be a number of people wanting to do him harm, although it's important to remember he's on a fifteen-minute suicide watch, so it's not as if he'll be left alone all that often.
 
I certainly would never wish to be on the jury of a peadophila court case.
I don't think that I could stomach hearing about what had gone on and I certainly could not look at any peado photos.
Majority of folk I think could be scarred by seeing the images that nonces get off to.
 
you're right maxie. that Watkins looks arrogant and I just do not need to know anymore. It'samazing that glitter only got caught out thru his hard drive. he was up to badbad stuff just like Watkins back in the day. But there is something very groomy about the music industry and indeed the entertainment industry. I remember myself as an 11 year old obsessed with John Taylor and well, top of the pops and those Saturday morning tv programmes encouraged underage girls to lust after these young men. I think I've mentioned this before. If David Icke is to be believed then the aim of the beeb iand government is the abuse of your children.
Miley Cyrus pimped out by her dad. I just don't like the double standards from the entertainment/media in fact it makes my flesh crawl. Bugsey Malone what was all that about?
