I drove drunk one time...after drinking quite a bit of vodka...I somehow called my friend to come and get me after like 10 minutes of driving...

that's my drunk driving story...and I plan on never doing it again.
 
I love all of this heated drunk driving argument. It's so funny. who cares, if you are capable of controlling your car then you're fine regardless of what the law says. If you have drank so much that you can't even see red lights well you probably shouldn't have been on the road and you're a dick. If you're sober and not paying attention to where you're going and crash, you're still an asshole regardless of the fact that you're not drunk. I'm actually usually a more cautious driver when I'm drunk because i'm actively paying attention to how I drive so I don't get arrested. If I'm sober I'm going like 85 in a 30 zone while blastying music for the fun of it. My loss of license is not alcohol related at all. Also, i've been pulled over drunk before, the cop knew what's up but saw that I was in control and was being reasonable so he told me to go straight home and get some sleep.
Some people sober are more dangerous than some people buzzed. Only someone is totally shitfaced driving I have a problem with it. I do occasionally drive that way (but how else am I supposed to get my car home from the bar?) but I know it's wrong and respect the fact that on nights like that if i were to get in trouble it would be justified. Although I would be unhappy I realize that I was a danger and there are consequences. This whole .08 thing though? that's a load of garbage. It should be based on one's reaction time/ responsiveness and motor function skills.


Tl;dr = I'm an alcoholic and I drive over the limit all the time. Not saying it's necessicarily the right thing to do, but the laws are too strict and it should be based on the individual's ability to drive, not some silly percentage number.

i drive a lot worse in withdrawal from GABA* than on GABA drugs, but then again i never get "shitfaced" or even "drunk drunk" on gaba drugs..

* focus on driving, drive safe, drive safe, focus, HOLY FUCKING SHIT i just ran a red light
 
Roadside tests are COMPLETE bullshit. It is entirely too easy for the officer to skew the results in whatever favor they wish. BAL numbers/piss tests/ect are the only objective opinion on the matter.
 
Yes, they will tell you how much alcohol is in your blood percentage-wise, but it doesn't have anything to do with your individual physiological and psychological response to the alcohol in relationship to driving ability.

I just found it rude that he put his two cents in to a 3 post reply about something cause he didn't feel like reading it..like he's a god or something. Just as easy as it is for me to drop it from here on out, it could have been just as easy to just ignore the 3 posts about valium & xanax...and I was just replying, I didn't bring up the fucking topic.

It's quite pathetic that on a harm reduction site, some of you are condoning driving drunk. Hopefully nothing happens to one of your loved ones because of a drunk driver...then you mother fuckers will be changing your tune. Don't get me wrong, I can drink and drug with the best of em, I just don't get behind the wheel of a car while enebriated (sp).

Hey, if you don't like the logic, tell me what's wrong with it. I never said one beer equals three beers. That's a straw man Jibult. You're better than that.
 
Man, chill out. 8o I called you a twat semi-jokingly. If i was really mad at you I think i could have come up with a better zing than that. Stop taking shit so seriously, relax and have fun, no need to get annoyed :\.
And I have lost close friends and almost family members to drunk driving accidents. I lost the best car I've ever had by crashing it drunk and high. I've also known quite a few people harmed by sober drivers. I'm not saying drinking and driving is a safe or good/ smart thing to do but I think people just get a little too worked up over it. You can get hurt by most things in this world. I've lost good friends to heroin overdoses as well, but still do that too. If you're irresponsible you could wind up getting hurt/ hurting others, period. I definitely understand why some people get upset by the topic, but I don't understand why people get SO extremely worked up about it like it's this big horrible thing. It's not like someone is raping a child. Although that's pretty fun sometimes too ya know?


ps: I don't "change my tune" for anybody, and don't call me a motherfucker or I'll show you a thing or two when I bust out the tape I made with your mother.
