NEWS: 15/4/05 World's biggest ecstasy haul!

When I heard this, I thought NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! just like everyone else. Yet i recall about October? November? last year there was 4.3 million pills found. At the time, I was devastated, yet there was no discernable drop in supply. So am I hopeful like everyone else that this is just another blip and we can all get on with doing what we enjoy (except the poor b*stards that got caught).

Note to government: Prohibition doesn't work! The biggest danger to e-users is taking substances that are NOT MDMA.

How about the utter utter utter rubbish in the article from the Herald Sun:

Of course many unsuspecting people in bars are approached by evil ecstacy dealers and convinced to part with their hard earned against their will. Even us poor users who actually want to take the stuff always wait until we get to a club or party and then try and score, dont we?

"Ecstasy is a street term for amphetamines mixed with other substances in a pill" Hasn't the author heard of MDMA?

"Short-term side effects include a lack of inhibitions, tongue and cheek chewing, teeth-grinding, a dry mouth, increased body temperature, nausea, anxiety, sweating, and an inability to sleep" What about the short term effects of extreme joy and happiness, being at one with yourself and humankind and the desire to dance like f*ck all night and dribble shit in the ears of strangers?

I can't see how it's gonna make any difference. I mean instead of getting the blue ones, you'r supply will just get the red ones now, on account of the blue ones being "unavilable"

I remember watching a doco called "drug wars" where someone from the DEA or something was saying the cocaine cartels make big money even if 9/10 shipments are seized, these busts dont actually mean that much to the people sending the shipments, any dealers claiming the price of pills just went up are full of shit and just trying to rip you off.

Yeah I saw that doco too. The coke that was seized was just regarded as a cost of doing business.

These huge shipments are obviously organised very close to, if not at, the source, and I've often wondered if the receiver on this end sort of pays a down payment that covers costs, and then pays the remainder for a successful shipment? I've read somewhere that the production cost of pills is less than 5 cents a pill, which would make this shipment worth say $250,000 in raw product perhaps. Not alot to lose for the manufacturer or purchaser on this end, when taken into account the overall profits available for successful shipments. I wouldn't be surprised if the damn tiles in the shipment were worth more than production cost of the pills .. LOL

Chris Ellison keeps bleating how if you send big shipments like this to Australia that "you will be caught". But it seems each of these huge shipments recently have only been detected because of tipoffs.

exactly, but the morons who subscribe to prohibition and politicians that support anti drug policies will never realise this, hence the headline in the first place.

it's a shame that all the posts in here merely preach to the converted and will never educate the morons thanks to so called journalists like Paul Anderson and Elissa Hunt, but you can't really blame them, they're just part of the system.

The ratio of drugs that get through, compared to those siezed, must be quite high, else importers would stop importing to this country if the risk of getting caught was so great.

But in saying that, Australia's boarder control is a shit loads better compared to many other countries, that have much higher demands for the drug; fact is, pills here are sold for a lot more then they are in other countries, which means more money!!!

I'm just glad I stocked up on Red Russian's. A nice 10 pack will last me 6 months at least.
