This is only indirectly related to the topic of this thread. I was just thinking about how much shit I read from US BL'ers about prices of consults, medications etc. It sounds really heavy.
In Australia virtually every doctor can be see free of charge; the doctor gets his pay from the government. In Sydney where I am, any doctor that doesn't subscribe to this scheme and insists on charging the customer, is seen as totally crooked and greedy. I don't think I've ever paid for an appointment in my life: psychologists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, surgeons....and bupe typically costs 10-12 dollars Australian per dose irrespective of your dose, with methadone costing 8-10.
I suppose on the flipside we deal with the most conservative customs laws in the civilised world. Whenever I look at countries to have banned things (kratom, poppies, whatever) it's like, "Zimbabwe, Laos, Ghana, Bangladesh, Australia, Arab Emirates. Pretty embarrassing. S.
