ive been using the film for almost 4 months now. I guess its better, it dissolves faster. Its like a breath mint strip....but it tastes horrible. My doctor did give me a choice though

no joke, my left breast area around my nipple and including my nipple has been swelling off and on for the last four to five months and ive been on the strips for close to a year now. ive read on the net that some meds could cause this. i mean sometimes it hurts like hell to touch and oh yea im a guy also. anyone else experience this guy wise. just wondering since i ran across pegasus's quote.

You should see an endocrinologist.
I believe a selective estrogen antagonist would work, although it would be best to see the specialist and then go from there.

My main issue is that these strips are patented, and they will be for several more years. I'm in between jobs so I don't have insurance coverage as of now. Where I'm at, the films cost a dollar more than the tablets. It was $6.xx for the pills. Now even with a pharmacy discount card that saves me over $1 per film, I'm paying about $7.50 each.
I was hoping to see generic sub available by now, but it isn't on the market. There might be generic buprenorphine (subutex), but most doctors don't want to prescribe that because it's considered more abusable and the generic subutex is hard to find from what I've read. A lot of pharmacies don't carry it.
I'm guessing my current doctor and many other doctors are getting kickbacks just to prescribe the film. If/when they ever release generic buprenorphine + naloxone I might have to find a new doctor, but my current doctor is helping me get off benzos and his rate for appointments is very affordable. On second thought all I really need is insurance that covers the film prescriptions.

When all expenses for treatment are added up, it would cost many users about the same to pay for sub as it would cost for them to continue on with their illicit habit. Of course it all depends on the doctor and treatment program. Some doctors make you pay for therapy and make you go to follow up appointments quite often. It's frustrating, especially now that the patent has run out on the bupe + naloxone tablets. I know there are some programs where people can get their sub for cheap if not free, but this should be available to the masses. Hopefully within the next few years some other companies will start making generics. This would help.

I get subs both in strip form and in pill form on the "streets" I spend less then someone I know that has to see a doctor every month. I guess it depends on how much you need to get by. I have learned less feels better then more so I can strech 8mgs (either type) over a period of 2 days. After calculating the doctors charge and the cost of a prescription I cant see spending that much. Now if you got insurance thats another story. A few of the local doctors here in Portland Oregon have begun switching their patients to subutex because it is cheaper. Those folks tell me that the pharmacies that didnt carry it before are going to. I want to experiment with them. I have heard great things.
my friends doc just swithced them to subutex. Also so now theres no charge to the doc its just like a regular 20$ visit, as compared to like 150$ for every time u see the doc, but its there primary soo not sure how that works. They put em on subutex and there good, felt a warmth fealing after sniffing it but then they switched em to the generic and there a bitch to break up and burn ur nasal's so ima stay with my stirps for now, maybe look around for a primary doc that my insurance will let me just do a co-pay instead of the clinic prices, jesus im sick of throwing money at them.(i know its my own fault shouldnt be complaining :/ )

I have been on the film for about a month and a half. I can recall getting high off the tablets years ago and feel literally nothing from the film. I wonder if its cuz my tolerance to H went up dramatically prior to getting on the film or what. As for the taste, it still tastes like shit. My prescription is for (3) 8mg 3 times a day. I have only been taking 1-2 8mg strips a day tho. Seems to work fine. NOW, I do not care for ppls opinions on what I am about to do. ONLY from personal experience with it PLEASE. I just purchased some H and I am going to do it. The last time I took a sub film was around 4pm. I also took one around 10am. So today I had 2 films total. How long should I wait until I shoot my H so I can feel high?

start off with 1mg or less

It's up to you to do your own research and be safe. We try to help on our own time, but it is ultimately your own responsibility. While I don't really condone abusing suboxone, there's no denying that people do it and it certainly seems to work for a lot of people. As has been said, you want to do <1mg. If you have no tolerance 0.5-1.0mg should be plenty. Even that much might make you sick. Non-tolerant users often get sick from suboxone.

How the hell do people get subutex? I must have the most fascist suboxone psychiatrist. I mean she's real nice and good for me in one way (see' through my crap), but I dont have insurance to cover the suboxone so I'm paying a fuckload out of pocket, and I could save a lot if I got the subutex.

this answer vary's depending on what dosage of bupe you've been on. If you're on 8 mg of the strip, I would taper down sublingually to 4 mg a day ( you should be able to do that within a matter of days, IME it's only under four mg that suboxone starts to become a bit more difficult to taper). Than you can start to I.V. The thing to know is that the bio-availibility of sublingual suboxone (which is I'm assuming the way you've been taking it) is around 30% absorption (sometimes a little higher, sometimes a little less, and I really myself have not recognized all that much difference between tabs and strips.) so you got to calculate how much an equivalent I.V dosage is. basically your sublingual dosage x .3. so 1 mg SL roughly = .3 mg I.V. At four mg a day that would be a total of 1.2 mg, which I would split into 3 different shots of .5, .5, and .2. You really shouldn't I.V any more than .5 mg, it doesn't seem to give as nice of an effect.
The strips take a bit longer to dissolve than the tabs but the idea is the same as when you I.V any other pill/powder. drop it into a spoon with cold water (if you can get the saline stuff that they give out at needle exchanges it's always better), let the strip sit for a while, then stir it around with the plunger until you don't see any pieces floating around and it's all one consistant solution. Than draw up with a cotton. (if you have a micron-filter it's much safer to shoot anything BTW). As for a rush, I found that yes after tapering a bit you do start to get a little rush out of it, but you probably wont at first, and it's never gonna feel like shooting heroin or dilaudid. It still comes on rather gradually though a hell of a lot faster than sublingual.

Only the 2mg suboxone strips seemed to dissolve under the tongue pretty well. But the 8mg ones take forever to dissolve....subutex tablets sucked....I could never get the strip (pill) to dissolve right, it would take like 30mins for it to dissolve. I had the option to take 8mg 3x/day or 12mg 2x/day. The only reason I had 2mg suboxones was for weaning off of suboxone. My doctor told me..."Don't inject this, it will kill you." The only time I had a good feeling from suboxone was the very first time I took it...I was nodding off in the passenger seat lol. But that only happened with suboxone once.

yeah right, same thing with me, when I first got on suboxone I got really stoned off of four mg. It felt like I had sniffed three bags with no tolerance. I got a little high the next day and by the third day I just felt tired. The thing is though I wonder if you could continually get high off your suboxone if you detoxed off of it for two weeks or so and then just injected 300 micrograms every day. I mean, buprenorphine is a huge problem in scandinavia so I hear, so they must have figured a way to get high off of it in a continuous manner. The key I imagine would be to either take it only once every three days at a dosage of four mg or under, or to just make sure you stay under the cieling and alternate your dosages, staying straight somedays by taking barely any and then taking a larger dosage here and there to get high. It's a real mystery.

That shit's been happening to me too !! For about 3-4 weeks now, my left nipple is sore, can feel it through a heavy flannel shirt - WTF !!! I take about 8 mg's of Subutex throughout the day...Is this happening to anybody else ?

My nipples are fine. You can try going to an endocrinologist. It is possible that long-term use of full agonist opiates like heroin or methadone, prior to your use of buprenorphine, reduced endogenous testosterone and you may need an exogenous source of it. I am not sure what else would be the cause but I'm sure an endocrinologist would.
