need serious help quiting cocaine, anyone actually find a way too?

Cocaine is used in eye surgery as an anesthetic and because it is a vasoconstrictor and stops bleeding. It is this vasoconstriction that cuts blood flow off fron the nose thus killing tissue. Not that all the other stuff in blow is good for your nose.

Ugh...so the tissue literally rots away then.

id suggest (if u can possibly get it by any chance) that you look into ibogaine.
i hear its expensive but way less than it would cost to go to a rehab center for the addiction.

ive read alotta different stories bout people on heroin and alchohol addiction after for years of abuse and they take it and go through the trip with out withdrawals and come out of it with no cravings. of course thats for a different drug, but i think its just the trip itself that gives a profound outlook on life then you did before taking the ibogaine.

like everyone else has said though also it would be good to find out what u think made you start in the beginning and realize how to fix that.

Too depressing to read this thread any more

Le Junk, sorry to hear you're substituting opiates for cola. Why? Primarily because opiates kill a person's sex drive fast, and I feel bad for your wife; if you continue using and gradually increase the dose (like most people who use opiates regularly), things are about to go from bad to worse for her.

Why do you want to do this to her, and to yourself? Why opiates? Not just a mental habit, but you want physical agony too when you quit? Have you become a masochist?

I've used both substances heavily at times in my life, and I would generally say switching OPIATES --> COCAINE is an improvement! Not the other way around.

Opiates kill not only sex drive, they undermine overall drive/ambition. The two best things you have left, your wife and a good job -- are at high risk of being lost. Particularly if your use becomes as comparably heavy as the prior coke use (which is very common when people substitute one for another).

I can't read this thread any more :-(.

MDPV,

Don't give up on me, man. Your one of my main support systems! Ironically, I ran out of my hydro's about 4-5 days ago. I tried oxycodone for one day and those made me nuts, so I'm off...............completely! Nothing!

So, please don't assume I'm continuing in a downward spiral. No more anything for me. Sobriety has already set in from my quitting of cocaine and life has slowed down tremendously. The days seem really, really long. Something I'll have to get used too, I guess.

Anyway, day # 17 for me and counting. I have only had two severe cravings, both of which came at very inappropriate times (out of town), and my wife said she'll be there for me to call her when it happens. She won't judge me, just talk me out of it, come to me, whatever it takes. She's truly my angel! :)

Anyway, just wanting to stay honest with everyone and letting people experience my path to recovery. MDPV, I need you here..............

Le Junk :)

you probably would benefit from a replacement therapy.

here's what i'd reccomend

*get a script (or purchase) some dexamphetamine (Adderall, Dexedrine) or methylphenidate (Ritalin).

*find a daily dosage regimen that staves off the mental withdrawal effects and keeps you content. (for a longtime cocaine addict this might be upwards of 40-50mg of dexamphetamine a day, in divided doses.)n

That is the WORST thing you can do: replace blow with a synthetic stimulant.

I call that paying back and I know its hard but it ends!

What really helped is L-tyrosine 500 mg, Vitamins and sports! If that is not enough you should go and see someone to talk to 2 times a week.

Good luck!

Sometimes having a good masty helps the cravings. Especially if yer out of town and away from the wife. Find sojme good porn and pull it. Works wonders for taking your mind off the cravings.

"take it one day at a time" is a cliche for a reason - because it's true! i didn't use for that long (4 years) but i was deep under and came THIS close to losing everything.

you can't think about never doing this or that again - about not being high for a week, or a whole month. just grit your teeth and don't be high TODAY.

unfortunately i lost the only man i've ever loved because he couldn't watch what i was doing to myself. your woman is a saint to stay.

Lejunk continue doing well dude iam at 2 months now sober after 10 yrs of opiate use. all in due time man. getting clean is a bitch you may wanna get perhaps a small script of Valium it you experience any panic disorders.

I see that many people are recommending ibogaine treatment for your addiction. I have another cheaper suggestion that may help also. 2c-e. I too had a growing drug problem that was taking control of my life. I wasn't hooked on any drug in particular, I was more addicted to just not being sober. I even continued to use when I got into legal trouble and almost permanently fucked up my life. After that I was being tested but I still continued to use. I would just use things that I was not being tested for. I was practically counting down the days until i was done with testing so that I could get back into my old habits. I ordered some 2c-e because it does not show up on tests. I took a small dose to just 'test the waters' but that low dose did something to me that I really did not expect. I started to wonder to myself 'Why? Why do I feel the need to do this anymore? What has drug use gotten me in life besides a temporary good feeling? Why do I do this even though I know full well I could fuck my life up even more if I am caught? Is it worth the risk?' These thoughts kept repeating in my mind for hours. The thing is, I had no answer for why I feel the need to use. I couldn't think of a reason for the life of me. Ever since that day I have not used 2c-e anymore. I have also decided that I don't want to get back into drugs again. I have given clean and sober a chance when before I was just considering my legal problems as a temporary deterrent from using. Friends of mine that have used 2c-e have also said they have had similar experiences. I don't know if it will be a 'cure-all' for you but I'd say it's worth a shot.

Well i been checking this thread and just decided I would post to say congrats with how far you made it already, and good luck in the future with it.

I been trying to quit blow as well, though I only did it for about 4 years and mostly weekends, it is still a huge pain in the ass. Its been about 2-3 months now, and thats the longest I've gone so far.

Keep it up Le Junk and everyone else who is trying to quit this shit.

Dude-

You hang in there man. Don't be hard on yourself if you backslide or think about backsliding. That will only conjure up the notion that you can't do it and you will throw in the towel. So stay your course man, be careful, think and reach out man when you need too.

Wow, I can't believe I missed it.

I'm very happy you've finally come in terms with your cocaine addiction, Le Junk. It was fascinating how much innovation on coke purification was brought forth by your denial :).

I think I may understand how you'd substitute coke for hydro. I substituted my dexamphetamine addiction with bupe. It works the first couple of weeks, but eventually one comes to terms with the fact that one has actually fucked up, and it is truly depressing.

I don't know about Ibogaine, but its worth giving a shot. If you're considering this, PM me first, because there are several "clinics" out there who over-charge, I may have some useful advice for you. I don't think LSD is what you need now, and although Ketamine worked for me, it may not work for you. And I definitely do not recommend you go on amphetamine as a substitute either. If anything, perhaps you could talk to a doctor and get them to prescribe you bupropion (welburtin)?

Anyway... I know you have it in you to pull it through, and if it works out for you, you'll become an example for us all to look up to :)

He already is an example by starting this thread and admitting he has a problem. Thanks Le Junk. You are an inspiration.

Update:

UPDATE: I wanted to say thanks to every member of this community for your kind words and support. As I sit here preparing the syringe for my new herion addiction.........................ha, just kiddin!!!!! ;)

Anyway, it's now day 20 and things are very, very different. And I'm talkin' in a big way! The days are extremely slow and seem to last forever. Before, they just kind of all ran together or repeated themselves..........kind of like that movie, "Groundhog Day".

I did take on opiates in the beginning as they did kind of make a nice transitional buzz from cocaine, but with the advice of those more experienced with opiates here on Bluelight, have since quit them as well. And then the days got a little a longer again...................

I'm severely clean and sober now. And I'll tell ya' one thing, the body sure does have it's own gross ass little way of cleansing itself! And that seemed to go on for more than a freakin' week! Damn!!!!!

So, have I had any cravings to do coke again? Well sure I have. One time, I actually had the time, place and phone number of my dealer, thought about the progress, the pain, the stating over, the cycle, and actually about letting some of you guys down. I erased the number, called my wife immediately and went to lunch with her instead. That was fuckin' awsome! A HUGE step for the Le Junky! =D

Seen alot, and I mean alot of movies. Put on a little healthy weight, and feel ah, normal I guess, whatever that's suppose to feel like. But it's definately different, and will take alot of getting use too.

I'll definately keep checking this thread. And by no means, don't mistake me for being able to simply slip and fall right off of this almighty wagon again! Every day is somewhat of a struggle. I feel as though I'm trying to reach a goal or something, but there's nothing at the end. This is it, this is the goal. Life. ;)

Le Junk :)

What has worked for me is not to do coke where I work and live. I've done coke (and xstasy) abroad when on holiday. It makes a huge difference to have your dealer 5000 miles away and not just a phone-call away. In this way coke has become associated with holiday and travel, so my triggers (chicas, the Spanish language, etc.) are also on another continent.

Lastly, if you can't live with the idea of never again to do coke in your life, you could do worse than promise yourself a two-week holiday South in a few months' time. In this way the prospect gives you strength: you still have your lines to look forward too but they are somewhat remote in time, and meanwhile your body recovers and you find out that it is possible to have some sort of life without doing coke all the time.

I don't think much of doing opiates. First you may not be the opiate type. More importantly, it seems like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Beside Wellbutrin, which I haven't tried, I recommend Modafinil, which I've taken to fight off daytime sleepiness. Modafinil reportedly has less effect on the heart, and contrary to theory, it does make you definitely speedy, like if you were doing minute lines of coke spread throughout the day. Try 100 mg at first, always take it first thing in the morning, before your cup of coffee.

this craving for cocaine i get is ridiculous. it's definitely manageable, but its pissing me the hell off. i REALLY wish i never tried the crap, i wouldn't wish anyone this kind of wanting for something you KNOW is gona suck ass. i GUARANTEE if i got ANY free amount of coke, the happyness honestly comes from the recognition that i have the stuff. i try to think about how good it feels, but i can't even see it. i can see the paranoid/uncomforting stimulation accompanying the high, because that's what it does (without benzos, i quit those too). if i can see as clear as day, that what i'm craving really doesn't do much except give me a serious inner workout thats unnecessary, then how come i get cravings like this? i'm assuming my rewar d center is just searching for well-being. i mentioned exercising helps with this before, but sometimes it seems like a hassle to do so, as if getting a bag isn't.

When I was quitting smoking cigarettes I too would smoke on vacation and was able to quit again when I got back. I don't suggest the blow on vacation except maybe in Columbia or Amsterdam where you can be damned sure they don't want to put you in jail.
If you must do cocaine again I will mention again how benign coca tea and coca for chewing is. By the way do you use herb? You never mention it even to say you don't like it. I try to limit myself to the relatively safe substances like herb (my own brand), coca, caffein, alcohol (safe for me). I get a lot of satisfaction growing my own. It is a real hobby. I grow my own food too.
I'm just stressing the safe stuff. You still have a cup of coffee in the morning right? Why? Because it is a simple ,safe ,pleasure.
I just had mouth surgery today and was given hydrcodone apap. I would have been more miserable without it. No chewing coca for a while for me. I am not supposed to smoke but I didn't have the nerve to say how about a few hits of bud?
Funny how we can all take the word of a drug addict. I believe you are being sincere. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations.
