NCAA Football 2006 Thread

as a diehard UF fan, we do not deserve to go to the national title game. Watching OSU Michigan I think those are the two best teams in the country, and it easily could have gone the other way if not for the helmet to helmet 15 yard penalty at the end of the game. Those two teams should rematch in the Fiesta bowl, and I'll be perfectly content with UF's spot in the Sugar bowl after we win out.
 
come on toolazy, I think Florida has just as much a chance as Michigan or USC. Thats how the system works, I know florida can do great things in the right situation. Its just as people have always said about florida. They win when they arent supposed to and the lose when they are not supposed to.
 
oh and beenhead i hope to fucking god florida wins out and plays osu in january. the sec has had the wool pulled over my eyes for most of this season, but that conference has been completely exposed imo. a mediocre offense like florida would get embarrassed by osu or michigan for that matter

Hey, just because those two bozos tried to tone it down with calm, respectful "nice game" comments doesn't mean I will. ;) I knew if by some fluke chance OSU lost they'd be giving me just as much shit.

That's just how the MI vs OSU rivalry goes.

Ohio state fans: as classless in victory as they are in defeat. See that is the difference between us and you. We will take this victory on the chin, graduate, get a good paying job, and have a positive effect on our society.

You will get drunk, riot, burn shit, leave college early for the potential of a high paying job (ala Clarett), get drunk during practice, get fired, go broke, and get arrested for armed robbery. So enjoy your victory, you poor poor classless fucks.

Of course, it's hard to remember what it's like to "take a defeat", being as how we have the longest winning streak in the country. Smooth job picking 1 idiot from a championship OSU team from 3 or 4 years ago and making him the poster child of all OSU grads? Nevermind all the successful ones that are playing in the NFL as I type this very message.

Good luck in the Kleenex Bowl, or whatever second rate game OSU has reduced the wolverines to.
 
Say what you want, the Michigan representatives at this site have handled this entire affair with class, and you have acted like a 12 year old.

Not if USC runs the table, which you will see I predicted a few weeks ago even though I was ridiculed by The Beet. If USC beats Notre Dame next week, there's no way Michigan will get a rematch and frankly they shouldn't. In the playoffs you don't get a rematch with a team that beat you just because the game was close. Michigan had their chance, it was a good game, but you gotta give some other top teams a crack at the Buckeyes now.
 
Yea, Benefit, but this isn't the playoffs, this is the regular season. And the BCS is supposed to pick the best two teams in the country. If the BCS is going to say that Ohio State is the best team in the country (and rightfully so), who should be number two? The team that lost by 3 points to the number 1 team in the country? Or the team that got beaten by unranked Oregon State?

As much joy as I take in disagreeing with you, that is a very valid point.
 
Michigan had impressive wins over Wisconsin and Notre Dame, but the rest of their schedule was pretty easy although I guess you could throw in Penn State too.

Assuming USC runs the table they will have beaten Notre Dame, Cal, Oregon, Nebraska and Arkansas which is just a flat-out harder schedule. I mean, even if you count out Oregon and Nebraska, decisive wins over Cal, Arkansas and Notre Dame (pending) are more impressive to me than beating Notre Dame and Wisconsin.

The Trojans tend to play to the level of their competition and they flubbed over the cupcake games in the middle part of the schedule because they didn't take those teams seriously. I'm not a fan of brash overconfidence at all but you have to realize that loss isn't an accurate reflection of the team's ability. Personally, I'd like to see USC take a crack at Michigan or Ohio State and denying them that chance would be silly, especially since we've already seen that match-up.

that was one of the most entertaining nights of my life, by far. campus was all lit up for the whole day and half of the next. actually, I am proud there were no riots/no outstanding violent arrests (besides a couple dumpster fires, but that happens every night anyways) that night. to huntmich's dismay, it does in fact show we can win with class.
 
I wrote that when I was hungover, and I allowed BA to bring me down to his level. I apologize for unfairly lumping you all together, but I still think BA is a classless fuck.
