once again I'll remind you that my pain nowhere compares to the pain you have had as an OSU fan the past two years. :p

Well that about sucked. :\ Hats off to Miles and the LSU team for playing a smarter, better balanced, and better coached game. Nobody thinks Boeckman is a savior, but fuck, did he shit the bed last night?! Interceptions, then fumbles, then sacked, it looked like he never got settled. That big brother Dorsey wasn't really a factor it seemed, Todd just looked antsy. The first part of the game seemed clear - run the ball against LSU. Run Beanie Wells for all he's worth. So what does Jim Tressel do? Start throwing the ball. Reeeeeal smart.

I like LSU's mixed bag of plays. Over loading one end of the field with receivers while an opposite side tight end runs a route and scores. Then, shortly after they run the same play only to throw the ball to 1 of the strong side players. Smooth.

I don't *think* I ever said anything about this being a "re-building" year. That sounds like something Corso and the rest of the announcers make up. Still, win or lose, making it to the National Championship game back-to-back years is impressive by anyone's standards. Teams like Miami, Georgia, and Michigan only WISH they could play on a national stage like that.

And what's that whole myth about SEC teams being "faster"? In what respect? The 40-yard dash? The high hurdles? I didn't see EITHER team burning past the other last night. I did, however, see Chris Wells rip off a 60+ yard run for a TD...

In the end the "factor" you're looking for is called the score of the game.

Oh craven it can never be ours since you left me here all alone. :(

Your own commisioner said that he also implied the SEC was a bunch of dumb thugs. Bet hes eating crow after all those OSU personal fouls that one dude should have been ejected for punching dude in the face.

Wow - I didn't know I had a commisioner. 8)

In fact, I dont even know what you're refering to. Big 10? OSU commissioner? "He said that he implied"? What?

Do you have a link to a story on this? This is my first hearing about it.

i cant comment on michigan, but the only reason osu has been on the stage for two years has been its steady diet of creampuffs. If you played in the sec, you have lost to (at minimum) florida and lsu.

hahaha. I was thinking that Crow might actually be better than me, that his fanhood matches or over-matches mine somehow for liking a superior team.

thankfully, I find out he is a Hurricane fan ;)

23. Oregon 9-4 253
24. Wisconsin 9-4 202
25. Oregon State 9-4 110

looks pretty solid for the BCS.

I guess the fact that all BCS bowl games were won by more than 20 points other than the NT game, which was won by 14 only because LSU gave up in the last 2 minutes cause they KNEW they couldn't lose doesn't mean anything. The BCS failed this year, get over it. Non BCS bowls were MUCH closer.

I also cheer for the Dolphins.

I <3 pain and suffering :)

it's all good, the Dolphins are my second fave NFL team. all Miami teams are my second fave pro sports teams.

anyways, NCAA football is over :( as much as I love arguing with all of you for these couple months we will now not have much to argue over. can I pass the peace pipe around?

but seriously, you guys are great here. I know things can get heated because we all take college football to heart. it is a very serious relationship, that of a college football fan and his team. congrats to LSU and thanks to everyone here for being able to bitch one another out week after week but still able to be somewhat civil in the end.

does anybody agree that these are the worst parts of the winter months? when the football seasons are nearing an end and there isn't really anything to look forward to until March Madness?

Whatchutalkinbout, Willis? We've got TWO NCAA basketball threads, NFL playoffs are still going, NBA is gearing up, and there's always CRICKET CURLING!!!! :D

Winter sucks in America. :\

the gap between the superbowl and opening day is (for me) this gray, shitty time of the year. but it is part of the reason why opening day is so goddamn beautiful.

BTW: for you OSU fans, i just want to say i don't agree at all with all the sports talking heads that are yammering about how OSU didn't deserve to be there at all. under the system as it stands they had as much a right as anyone, though they were not a hands down pick in my opinion. anyways, most of the agita is about getting a real playoff system as opposed to any real problem with OSU.

Does anyone have any information or links to back up what drew345 said about a commissioner's "thug comments?"
