NATIONAL: Soundwave Festival 2011

Haha sorry man, I just enjoy stirring. I love heaps of music older than 10 years. I am obsessed with The Stooges from the same era and love my 70s punk. Also of course The Beatles, The Left Banke etc. I just hate that old metal voice and extended guitar wankery.

Anyway on topic my only clash is Mad Caddies and the Melvins. Melvins win of course.

(EDIT: Hey buddy - please have a look at what Klue has helped you out with in the following post. We don't want to be a hassle, but the idea of the guidelines is to help everyone out with the info they need.)

GrailKing, welcome to Bluelight. This is an example of an event thread here; http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=530529

Please read the guidelines to this forum. If you want this forum to be a success, they will have to follow that format. You can edit your first post in this thread, but a mod will have to change the thread title.

I was just thinking earlier today that with all of the sideshows I am going to from the Soundwave line up I could have bought 4 soundwave tickets.

Still, I could spend twice that amount again and it would be well worth it just to stay away from that god awful place!

Hi GrailKing, I have added the info for you in the event that you weren't back on the board for a few days. Adding the info to the post just helps out the other users that are keen to come along to the gig. I have also changed the thread title with the relevant tags.

If we don't get a lot of action on this thread though we might just merge this with the Soundwave thread which has got a healthy discussion about sideshows going on around the place.

Couple of clashes at the Brisbane show I'm not thrilled about: Primus and Gaslight Anthem and then Rob Zombie and QOTSA. Oh well, should be a decent day regardless :)

I've got the same dilema with the melvins except they're also clashing with qotsa. Qotsa wins though, I believe anything Josh homme touches turns to gold and that goes for his dessert session shrooming too. Going to primus/melvins aide show though so is all ok. Anyone else seeing primus? After seeing Les claypool (on psilo's pushing suggestion) I have decided that you have to have part of your Brain missing if you dislike them.

For the record, I do hope that some old arsehole has a heartattqck and drops a guitar on my head. Means I don't have to go to work.

So out of all the days possibly in the semester I have to spend that weekend at Uni as 2 of the 5 on campus days I will have for the whole Semester for that subject. Pretty cut but at least I'm still seeing Social D. and The Bronx at the sideshow.

Bye bye Soundwave ticket!

Oh yeah, gotta check I'm not working. It's annoying that I only want to see bands in the first half :(

Super excited!!

Gutted to miss out on QOTSA sideshow ticket, but stoked to see them at SW...
Also looking forward to Sevendust, Primus, Rob Zombie, Monster Magnet, Slayer...

Am considering parking car in the Ascot Vale/Moonee Ponds area and walking to it afterwards to avoid the sheer fuckery of getting a: to station and b: on train, that ensued last year:(

Now that the Sydney show has been moved from the hellish 3rd world slum that is Eastern Creek to the Consumer mecca of the Sydney Showgrounds I. AM. THERE!

Also picked up sideshow to Millencolin which I am looking forward too

So much Maiden hate! Haha..

If there 2hr set is anything like what they did for their World Tour 08', i think alot of people will be really surprised, they can put on one hell of an epic performance, either way.. cannot wait! :)
