A guy in a wheelchair crowd surfing to QOTSA and then getting invited up on stage.

DFRS did you have a green bag ?

A guy beat security twice to get back in the pit.

Nah i didn't man! Bugger i forgot all about catching up, i was so excited about the bands nothing else existed in the world yesterday! Next time for SURE!

My highlights were:

Primus
Rob Zombie
Sevendust
Stone Sour
Iron Maiden

Such a good day! The crowds were a bit frustrating, and the huuuuge lines for food and alcohol were draining. But other than that a great day!!

Fucking love Primus. Rob Zombie kicked arse too. Ahhh so so good. :D

Ah yeah, we unfortunately had to cut Zombie's set short to make it over to Maiden in time. We pretty much missed the Queens sadly. Zombie came on about 15 mins late too so that was really annoying!

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decisions decisions! =D

Poor you ... i wouldn't want that carrot waved in front of me. I don't know what id do...

Fuck me, what a day. Change of venue was shit, the Showgrounds were like a maze. Everything else was epic. I'm so burnt though :( my neck is purple :\

Haha, i actually drove to the wrong venue initially because i had been out of the country a few months leading upto the festival and it still said Blue Steel on my ticket; i was like.. fuck, so where is it? I would of just caught the train had i known earlier, hell of a fuckup on my behalf lol!

I totally got searched by the sniffer dogs they had out around 3:00pm.. despite having nothing on me! :) The cops looked pretty disappointed when they didn't find anything hehe.

My highlights were definitely: Iron Maiden, Slayer and Rob Zombie... Despite Maiden playing mostly new songs i still enjoyed them, i didn't expect a great deal, there World Tour in 2008 still remains as one of my all-time favorite concerts by any band. Slayer was brutal as, had some dudes in the tree's shaking the branch's while headbanging and a few people with cuts to their face, awesome set. Rob Zombie was just win all-around.. it was so good to finally hear some of those tracks live, use to listen to them heaps during the 90's.

The topless chicks in the mosh during Slash made for an interesting set, was nice to hear them end off with Sweet Child'O'Mine and Paradise City!

Overall, epic day.. the only thing i hated was the huge distance between Stage 1 and Stage 4.. i had to run between sets through narrow walkways, around corners and down hills.. what a freaking maze lol.

I'm glad someone told me about it or it would have caught me out too. I think a lot of people would have fallen for that trick today :p

I didn't like the way the stages were layed out at all, the only ones close to one another were 1/2/6, the rest were really far apart and very annoying to get to from each other.

There were no dogs when I went in at 11, I thought to myself "Shit, I should have brought something," haha. Good to hear that you had no trouble. There was a definite weed smell in the air around 1/2 all the time haha, even saw one guy who had a big baggie attached to his hat, rather brave :D

And there was this one topless chick who was so persistent the entire day haha. Power to her.

Edit: OH and Sum 41 pulling out was an incredible disappointment :(

Yeah, but Steel Blue Oval is it's home, it's been there the past 3 years. And it was always good.
