Yeah there was a lot of shit about Requiem that just was not realistic at all.

You want a bad ass realistic dope flick.. check out Panic In Needle Park. Old school flick with a young Al Pacino, playing a junky in NYC during the heroin drought of the 70's. Great great movie.
 
^Is Panic in Needle Park really that accurate? I watched it and found it kind of ridiculous at points. It reminded me of WSB's Junkie at points but it seemed like they were a lot less on the ball in terms of HR than I would expect. (especially those jury-rigged needles.. gross)

The fact that it has horrible HR is why it's accurate, hah. Back then, you couldn't just get proper needles like you can today. So you either had to steal them from hospitals.. which was not easy, or jerry rig your own with an eye dropper. That's what most people did.

To me, it just shows the raw hustle and bustle of being a dope fiend. Trying to hustle for cash, trying to chip but then picking up a habit, all the crazy kind of people you meet in that world.

I mean, no hollywood movie is ever going to be 100% true to how shit really is, because then it wouldn't be a movie.. but, some get it pretty close, and that one did.

I thinkd a movie that showed a true junkies life would be interesting i dont know why hollywood has to hype it up and never show the truth because its interesting on its own. Alot of people have weird fascinations w the junkie lifestyle. But itd have to be written by a former junkie.

I need to win the lotto and then find a chick that is to my standards but doesn't have all the money so she can't pull that "everything you have is because of me" card. Fuck letting the chick be the one with all the money, I could almost definitely make her do so much more if it were me shelling out all the money and drugs...
 
Recently read that modern feminism has actually made women less happy. Trying to be a man with a career delays most attempts to start a family. By the time a woman is 30 she's in trouble, 35 and, unless you got dough for fertility treatments, the window is basically closed. Drug and alcohol use certainly doesn't help. So being "boring" or domestic isn't all that bad of a thing.
 
^i want to be domestic housewife. Its my dream, even tho im going to college now, i want to have that degree in my back pocket in case i eventually do become a housewife and get bored or the kids grow up. Not that i have kids now but want them once i graduate in two years. But a lot of domestic housewives i know bitch about wanting to get out the house more or miss a career. People always think The grass is always greener on the otherside, but really its just as brown.
 
Many say that because feminist professors and the like have made it impossible for women to be honest. If you say "yeh, I like being a housewife" be prepared for a thousands quips, even though raising children correctly is probably among the most difficult tasks. Its like when a woman says thay want someone funny and caring, they are basically coached from birth to respond in certain ways.

Porkchops: (i thought i posted this last time but guess not, thank god for restore auto saved content) housewifes do NOT get enough cred. They get labeled as lazy, unmotivated, stuck in old idea of womens roles, etc. I used to be a nanny for for kids ages 4, 6 and twin 7 year olds. It was not easy but was very fulfilling and enjoyable. Nothing beats a job where you get to play and relax at the park all day and make spaghetti os. But i also had to clean and the second the house is clean once you turn around its a disaster again. But these kids parent were military so they were well behaved for the most part. And i never got any privacy theyre constantly barging in when youre using the bathroom.

But yea Im with you on the quips, people kind of look down on stay at home moms. I mean if the couple has no kids and she stays at home; or if the kids are past 10/11, then its not really necessary she stay home, unless her husband is rakin in the dough and doesnt mind she stay home. I dont know, i couldnt stay home all day if had no kids or if they were grown, would be pretty boring. But while theyre still youngins thats hectic and a lot of men think since they bring home the cash they work harder, but probably wouldnt survive a week taking care of kids fulltime.
