My view on junkies (and related hard-core) drug addicts.

the study below is just one of many that compared various drugs and found that alcohol is as dangerous as heroin (the latter causing less nerve damage); as far as i can remember, the roques report classified drugs into three categories according to their overall harmfulness; category 1 included alcohol, cocaine and heroin; category 2 included lsd, mdma and cigarettes; and category 3 included coffee and cannabis

95 people are using drug A

10% of all users of drug A will die (9.5 people)

What would happen if as many people used crack or heroin as do alcohol?

My point is that the most impotant factor in assessing the damage a given drug does to society is the total number of users, which is influenced by availability, legality and social attitudes. These three things are all in direct or indirect control of the government.

Anyway, nicely said. Now, I'm wondering where you got those numbers, and your facts from.

That being said, I think that is a good way to look at the total picture.

Yeah, well, this is obviously not the board for you then.

Do you use anything? If so you are being quite hypocritical in saying that whatever you use is better than what someone else uses.

Also, if you'd bother to read the thread, you'd see that Inimical doesn't really feel like that. So please, just relax. People's choices are there own. You have no right to judge them, especially if you use any substances at all.

Who cares if he's trying to get clean, as long as he isn't bothering other people and can afford his addiction without stealing my television. I don't understand why people think ever addict needs to get clean. I think people should just stay out of other people's private affairs..
 
i think your missing the point of what i was trying to say

i was pointing out that i dont think the only good junkie is a dead one, as HotMOovZ said.
