Mushroom Season 2011

I just visited my usual patch and there was bugger all. Maybe next weekend they will be back again ... but yeah, there were a couple here and there but i left them. They wouldn't have contributed to a worthy harvest to go to the trouble of drying and preparing. Fingers crossed the patch's revive. Im sure they will, i was just a bit shocked with how little there were in what is usually a flourishing patch. The spring like weather we had for a full week really didn't do them any good.
 
I found an (aboriginal?) site/water hole that had been dug into a rocky stone thing, Has little carvings and stuff all through it. Looks pretty cool, but more importantly, there's a huge abundance of subs all around this aboriginal water hole thing on our property. :D I'm not too keen on ANY mushroom, in regards to taste and such, the taste makes me gag... Even food mushrooms... How does mushroom tea go? like boiling them up in water work well? i was thinking about making a couple really strong Milo using some shroomy tea-water.

mushroom tea; don't boil your shrooms, just powder them, pour near boiling water over them, let cool down, drink.
Boiling will destroy actives.
 
I was in balingup/nanup last weekend, found many subs, so wouldnt be suprised if a whole lot have made it bak to perth

In the little spare time I have been able to hunt in my currently hectic life, I have found fuck all since the warm week we had in Vic about a fortnight ago.

Now the frosts are fucking everything up. Just returned from a patch that was full of big juicy subs 2-3 weeks back and now it's dead pins that have been frozen by over night frosts (once the ice crystals break down the cell walls it's all over for that mushroom). I believe the central Vic season is pretty well fucked although there will be some minor finds in coming weeks. The warmer weather forecast for the end of this week may see some decent finds. Just gotta hope the frosts stay away for 3 or so days in a row so the pins have time to fully develop into dirty big subs.

SW Vic goes nuts this time of season. I have my best finds in the green triangle area of Vic in July/August and they fruit well into September most years in that area.

Edit: As far as nausea goes on any psychedelic, Metoclopramide (Pramin) is a god send! Get to your docs and tell them you need it for nausea. I never used to get any nausea from psychs but, in the last year it has been getting worse and worse with every trip.

More common trade name is Maxolon. I've never had much nausea from psychs (except methysergide...) but I'd wondered how effective DA/5-HT antagonists would be. Now we just gotta try something hardcore like tropisetron or ondansetron %)
 
The next few days in Melbourne, including today, seem perfect weather for shroomies ranging from 5°-18° with rain... Are there any chances of some late finds coming off the back of a bumper season??

^ i was going to ask PsiloSubNaut when the qld season will start? Me and my partner are really looking forward to having our first shroom experience. I know of a local patch near me and I'm quite keen/excited to experience something new, so any information would be great :)

Edit was down near a creak building a mountain bike track with some berms for me and my girl to ride as a local spot and we came across a few areas where people had come and and dug some out. Went to the original patch and that had also been raided!!!! What is the best time after 2-3 days of rain to pick them? 4-6 am?

Yes, rain has just finished, and now we've had a sunny day here on SE QLD.
Trying to figure out when to go hunting for these things.
Since I can't find anyone who sells them :(

Interesting, well I'm on the sunny coast and got fucked up too.
Do you know when they would usually start sprouting? If the floods didn't ravage the fuck out of the earth.

God damn massive storm again :|
I've just found 3 farms with cows like 20min bike ride from me :D

Going to check it out, not too sure when it's the right time to go looking in SE QLD.
