Pooks can be found on golf links a few feet above sea level, alititude aint in it but, I have noticed different distribution patterns in hilly fields between the top and bottom but I cannot say there was a numerical bias. They are where they are, the more you pick the more you realise how little you know, just get them down your neck maggots and all.
I'm sure there needs to be animals in the fields for there to be any proper chance of finding libs though? Is this correct?
Did anyone ever look for them on Gaa or soccer pitches ?
i would say that drying them is enough. once theyre dry i think they keep their potency for years although i might be mistaken.
^ spot on, freezing them is a bad idea. Just keep them dried whole vac-packed in a cupboard, or go further and grind them and then put them in capsules or a pot for a later year...this seems a bit silly though, why would you wanna keep mushrooms for years?? Share the wealth.
I can't believe the season is upon us - sunday morning I'm going for my first hunt on a nearby farm...hope it's fruitful...sheep grazing, and cows too.
