Anyone in auckland NZ found anything yet? hopefully well get some decent rain this week and Ill be up to riverhead to check my patch...bring on the huge psilocybe aucklandii!

nofx1422: I've been on the hunt for new patches for about the last month after I found that some idiots had ruined both of my regular spots, but to no avail :(

This season has been really weird in Auckland, I've been to forests out west several times and found bugger all. The weather has been incredibly dry and warm for this time of year, with only a little bit of rain... I worry that winter is gonna come with a snap and autumn is gonna be missed out altogether! I live in hope though! *fingers crossed*

Keep them eyes peeled and keep the rest of us posted! :)

Yeah, you need to know where in the forest youre going, Id been to riverhead and woodhill tons of times and never found more than 4 or 5. My friend then took me to a spot about 250m straight in.....got ~30 the first time, and have always found some at the same spot everytime I go

You lucky bugger, wish I had friends like that! :P Nevertheless I shall keep hunting... there's a lot of ground to cover which should keep me busy!

Until it stops being cold and damp I'd reckon...

Yep thats when. Ive found them late september before, so you never no with this weather we get these days.

Last season they dissapeared around the 2nd of september in my area and then after a few cold wet nights around the 15th i managed to get another hundred or so.

25+ km inland seems to be the go at the start and end of season because the sea tends to keep the air just above growing temp at night in May and late August/September.

Is anybody still having trouble finding them in Vic?

Looking forward to 20mg of methanol evaporation extracted psilocin tonight =D

infact im near convinced they dont grow in geelong. i cant find a single one anywhere?!?! damn bogan town

I hear you Just_A_Bloke, ive been looking high and low for these things around Geelong and all I can find are inactives:(. checked a few spots that ive thought would be perfect but nope, just these orange shrooms that look promising from a distance only to let me down. Going camping down in the otways tomorrow, hopefully come across some then.

im yet to try mushies. really wanna do it but im gonna hold off till my mates get some more. dont really trust my self to go looking for em

psilocybe aucklandii have started to pop up in auckland, my patch had 9 yesterday when it was checked by a friend. Theyll go nicely with some syrian rue. Ill try get some pics up over the next few days

yeah, im going to head out the otways once my car is up and running.

and yes, those orange inactive are around the place, so are many other types of mushrooms, but never found, or know anyone who has ever found a sub in geelong.

Wise decision. Leave it to the people who know how to ID them, you'd hate to eat the wrong ones.

I stopped for a piss in geelong the other day and there we're subs under grass tuffs in a pine chipped garden bed beside the toilets. I can't say where exactly coz those are the rules but i can say you must be looking in the wrong places because i have many a shroom fiend friend in geelong and they have patches throughout the city and burbs.

I don't believe they are as abundant as elsewhere though, they do find it harder than other vic areas but its not like you need sackloads for a few people to have a good trip....

The otways are a sure bet if you live in that area *MEMORIES*

Once you find some actives, try starting a patch at or close to your home. It's easy and there's plenty of info on the net to guide you with tips to get the most out of it. If done correctly you can get hundreds from a square metre!

A bit more rain will do us VICo's some good, anyone in the blue mountains should be laughing after all the rain they just copped...

Psilocin extract did me well last night 8o

Cut your shrooms at the base to help regeneration and please respect the environment that provides them for you...

Happy hunting and safe tripping

Took a first timer out to hunt today, was quite happy with the result, i think he now has enough mushies to last him a while.

Laying out to dry:

They are some really nice mushrooms Immortal Teknique. Treat that patch well, I know that type of environment and they will easily get worn out if not treated with love.
