LoL@it was a mistake........could it have been? Sure but with the corruption in the USA & especially coming from one of the most corrupted countries in the world, Mexico, I would say they had a good thing going & someone screwed up (this is all hypothetical)

Damn the 16th was my birthday as well, wish they could have sent me that coke 'by accident' ;)

Seriously now though, someones gonna die over this. :(

Canada - Police seize more drugs in raid

"City police believe they are closer to finding the main source of hallucinogenic ?€œbath salts?€ that have been linked to the hospitalization of at least five people in Owen Sound after a second drug raid in six days."

I guess this just goes to show that whoever is speaking for Health Canada here doesn't have a clue about chemistry or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. MDPV is controlled because it is "related" to mephedrone!?

I would take any claims from the RCMP or Health Canada about which drugs are controlled and which are not with a grain of salt, until somebody actually gets a conviction for possessing or selling these drugs.

I have an ongoing court case which involves the trafficking of both mephedrone and MDPV. The lab test results that came back listed both as non-controlled substances.

Also, I can't believe how ignorant the RCMP is of the research chemical market. "Closer to finding the main source"... do they not realize that MDPV is available openly online?

$82 Million Cocaine Bust

On February 27, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Air and Marine (OAM) P-3 operating out of National Air Security Operations Center-Jacksonville, detected a go-fast vessel carrying 1,100 pounds of cocaine valued at more than $82 million.

The 35’ twin-engine vessel was spotted speeding north off the coast of Panama and appeared to be loaded with numerous packages when the Florida-based CBP P-3 began tracking the vessel. Local foreign law enforcement assets were called in to board the vessel and after inspection, several dozen bales of cocaine were recovered.

During FY 2011, the CBP P-3 fleet continued its anti-smuggling success by seizing or disrupting more than 148 thousand pounds of cocaine valued at more than $11.1 billion; 20.6 pounds seized for every flight hour, valued at $1.5 million for every hour flown.

CBP OAM P-3s have been an integral part of the successful counter-narcotic missions operating in coordination with the Joint Interagency Task Force – South (JIATFS). The P-3s patrol in a 42-million square-mile area of the Western Caribbean and Eastern Pacific in search of drugs that are in transit towards U.S. shores. The P-3s’ distinctive detection capabilities allow highly-trained crews to identify emerging threats well beyond the land borders of the U.S. By providing surveillance of known air, land, and maritime smuggling routes in an area that is twice the size on the Continental U.S., the P-3s detect and monitor illegal air, land, and maritime smuggling activities before they reach the shores.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.

Let's spend a ton of money shoveling shit against the tide and then pretend it's making a difference

Methoxetamine seized in Philly International Airport bust

A new designer drug unapproved for sale in the U.S. was intercepted for the first time in Philadelphia at the International Airport, according to a release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The international parcel shipped from the United Kingdom and bound for Hollis Center, Maine was initially discovered Feb. 23, but the FDA did not finish testing and confirm its contents until March 14. It contained 63 grams of white, powdery methoxetamine in three zip lock baggies, each labeled "Not for Human Consumption," officials said.

"Experimenting with misbranded synthetic pharmaceuticals can be extremely dangerous, and is a classic case of caveat emptor, buyer beware. There have already been an unacceptable number of reported deaths in our communities from designer drug overdoses," CBP Port Director for the Philadelphia area Allan Martocci said in a release.

Methoxetamine, also known as "M-Ket," "Kmax" and "Mexxy," is a synthetic derivative of the animal tranquilizer and recreational drug Ketamine, officials said. It is illegal under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which states a new drug may not be sold in the country without an FDA-approved application.

Unapproved for sale in the United States!? When did this happen?

Technically everything that hasn't been approved is "unapproved". It's not the same thing as being scheduled.

This happens every once in a while. They did it with mephedrone way before it was scheduled.

Looks like theres a ban coming to the US also. Not long beofre someone in canada gets busted for it

It's banned here in the UK now :( Surprised it's taken so long for a seizure to occur over the pond!

What can they do in this instance if they compound is unapproved? Does that mean nobody will get charged but they can seize the material?

If they can't prove its not for human consumption, they can't charge anyone right?

When does law enforcement EVER give the benefit of the doubt on cases like this? These guys are guilty until proven innocent, at least from the viewpoint of the sheepies and the pigs.

The tone of that article is disgusting in its own right, but importing 63 grams of MXE is going to draw this sort of attention.

A competent lawyer could easily prove that this powder was indeed 'Not for human consumption' and dismiss the trial, for now there is no probable cause for a criminal charge.

The analogue act doesn't apply to CIIIs and below by the way, MXE possession even in bulk shouldn't lead to anything more than a slap on the wrist and confiscated product.

I highly doubt many prosecutors could win this case unless the defendants did something really stupid before earning freedom once more.

^there are no charges because there was no law broken. If somebody from the US were to have tried to sell it, then they could probably hit them with a weak mislabeling charge, but that would be a stretch.

Why does everyone always spout the analog act not applying blah blah ketamine CIII crap in regards to methoxeamine? Look at PCE. Schedule 1. and quite often the assholes don't follow their own laws anyhow. Yes, -gasp- a lack of faith in enforcement and the judicial system. Who'd of thunk?

Canadian busted for 120 kg of "DMT"

Drug trafficking charges have been laid against a Picton man following the seizure of nearly $70,000 worth of a hallucinogen known as DMT.

Prince Edward OPP report members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Project Longarm and the Canada Border Service Agency all played roles in the incident that ended with 40-year-old Derek Richardson being charged with importing a schedule three drug and possession of the drug for purposes of trafficking.

The agencies launched an investigation earlier this month when a shipment from Brazil was intercepted at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The packages, which police report were destined for Richardson’s apartment in Picton, contained drugs known as dimethyltryptamine, a hallucinogen more commonly referred to as DMT, which is a natural compound found in many plants and shrubs.

Prince Edward OPP officers assisted with a search warrant at Richardson’s apartment and seized an additional 40 kilograms of the drug.

Combined with the packages seized at the airport, police confiscated a total of 120 kgs. Of the illegal drug. This translates to an estimated street value of $68,750 and equals approximately 13,750 hits of the drug, police report.

Richardson was held for a bail hearing.
