Really? Bullshit forum eh?
And did you really expect us to devote a social forum to solely sensible discussions? Seriously, it's not as if we're gonna just post crap, it'd be used for the kinda stuff people would wanna talk about that's not related to raves, like good restaurants to go to, good movies to hire, what games we play, what have we done to make the world a better place, any interesting web sites to visit, how to get the petrol prices lowered, etc etc...
I've been to rdc and bluelight social and it's just not the same...
Anyway, that's my last post on this topic 'cos I can see I don't have much support and I'm not inclined towards wasting my time

listen, I know what you are saying, and if I had it my way, there would be a new forum. I agree that something like that would be great, but it simply doesnt happen. Bluelight social was setup for the same reason, sensible discusion about various things, but look at some of the posts "why does my pussy smell after a big night?" "do ravers have small dicks?" "have a look at this picture of my dog"
Everything starts off with good intentions but it always seems to go askew. And this is why I cant see another forum happening, especially because most of the people on this board dont want another forum to start with. Yeah, things are moving mighty fast these days but there is nothing we can do. I am still in favour of a social forum but until we get the support, its not gonna happen sorry.

All I wanted was somewhere to discuss the current political tension mounting between North and South Korea, Somewhere i could gain insight into other peoples views on the mating habits of the african dragon fly or perhaps even have a light hearted chat as to whether fission or fussion would serve better as a non-renewable fossil fuel on the moon. These are all popular topics that everybody deep down wants to ponder about. And although a social forum would be perfect for this I can see the mod's have spoken and I respect their decision to not have another forum!
But if anybody would like to converse over the merits artificial photosynthesis please drop me an icq message

The boudaries for the current two forums have become somewhat blurred. Posts are going in meetups that aren't about meetups... cos it kinda has become a social+meetups forum and posts are going in drug discussion that are only loosely related to drugs and not about any specific drug info request/info/user report.... cos there's nowhere better for them to go.
Another forum could well be used to clear up this. And make meetups about meetups and drug discussion about specific drug discussion. I'd like that to happen and I think it would help people in acquiring the info they need faster, easier and more effectively.
Uh-huh.

Screw the new forum. I, like many others couldn't be stuffed searching 2 forums. When I get on this site I like to check out what I've missed over the last couple of days (as I'm not on everyday). Last thing I want to do is more mindless clicking (call me a lazy bum). I think it comes down to whether you are chasing information or just wanting to be social. If the second, keep it the way it is.
 
chatterbox - you only check Bluelight every couple of days, well at the rate of posts these days then to catch up on what you have missed then you would be clicking onto the second page - no? You could be bothered doing this but not going to another forum. Is it such an effort for anyone to go into another forum - it's like going back and clicking into another thread - I don't understand the hassle seriously? Not a crtisim just an observation.
I say we need another forum

Well i am actually not a big fan of the other forum idea. Mainly because i think it will just be almost exactly the same as this one. In theory it seems like a good idea just having the meetup posts by themselves, seperate to the other 'crap'(btw i love the crap

then replies will just go back and forth with other bits of info etc etc until the meetup happens.
So to actually make it a meetup only forum the mod would basically have to be on ppls asses all the time, even then it stil wouldnt work that well. A lot of the 'crap' that goes on on this board comes directly from a meetup. 'It was so funny when such and such did this at wherever' or 'it was great to see you there at whichever'. So would that stay in meetups?.
Also ppl will start posting in here saying 'just in case you havent seen over in the other forum there is a meetup on the such and such '.
I actually dont understand what is wrong with this forum as it is? Ppl saying it is moving too fast and that no one checks the second page. Well do you think ppl are going to check another forum if they are too lazy to check a second page. I doubt it. Put a big link up top saying CHECK THE SECOND PAGE!. Also posting that FAQ thread that anjele started as an EVERYONE READ/FORUM RULES link up the top might be a good idea also. There is a big white space there under aus/asia/middle east just waiting to be used!

Either way it wont make a difference to me as i do check the second page and i would check the other forum. Not everyone has as much times on their hands as me tho.

It has already been decided that another forum will not be opened, and seeing as though there is so much objection to another forum, it is a good decision. I don't think there is a need for a vote. Leave it as is for now, people will just have to get used looking on the second page

go for the third forum!! I can't say I'll be using it much but I'm sure lotsa BLs will post. Don't get me wrong, I find the drug and event info incredibly helpful but I like a few social comments mixed in with these, no need to move everything over !
just a quick though as well: it seems like there are some posts appearing in the wrong forum, might posts be even harder to divide properly with a 3rd forum?
 
A page or so back something was mentioned about a site overhaul of sorts - whether just in how it looks or works I can't recall and can't be bothered going back to check. I reckon it's a good idea. JB, I remember you once saying something about each page having hell overhead or something. A redesign of the way the pages are handled may not be out of the question just to help the server cope. I'm not too clued in about message boards outside of Notes (you wanna talk overhead?) but would be happy to throw some weight in on ideas and stuff if that's the go. Properly designed it should even take care of that 2nd and third page thing that was mentioned too.
 
DAQ: as you can see i've listened to your fantatstic idea and put that "Everyone Read" FAQ in the announcements bit
