MO, Salem - August 13-16 2009 - Underground Sound 5

I dunno mang, the last few times I've seen Tech Itch, it's been pretty bad. I would have hoped for a better dnb headliner than that (Aphrodite? Reid Speed? Evol Intent? Hello? Is this thing on?).

I would be fine just having Reid and Evol Intent every year, but people seem to like it when we change it up a bit.

The cave was always a good time. It's impossible to make everyone happy, and plan for every possible mishap that may occur. As someone who's worked personally w Tom et al, I know that he does do everything possible to provide the best experience for all. Sucks that it has to be moved, but these things happen. One thing is for sure though... I know Tom and his crew is gonna bring some sick-ass talent. Big up y'all. Wish this shit wasn't 23 hours away :(

I didn't realize you were in Tampa now. I am there a lot during the winter months. There is a pretty big crew heading up from there.
Tom

Can't wait for UGS5! And thanks for moving it to Camp Zoe, that place is so beautiful- I LOVE seeing shows there. It's gunna be sweet!

Can Camp Zoe hold as many people comfortably as the Cave did?

That is one of our biggest reasons to be at Zoe. It is one of the most comfortable venues for crowds of this size and much larger in the nation!
Camp Zoe can hold thousands more than the cave with parking in the venue with camping. Once there you will realize how comfortable camping with thousands of others can really be. It is 7 times the size of the cave property and has a beautiful stream with around a mile of shoreline in the venue and is very well maintained.

even better way to explain the schwagstocks at zoe get easily 3-4K. One time I was there they had over 6K for a show and it still didn't feel crowded.

I cannot wait for the new venue. I ADORE our old cave, BUT .. caveman Bob is a douche-bag extraordinaire! I think Tom did the right thing completely by moving the venue to Zoe. I had some of the best times of my life at Shawnee, and I cried when I found out why it wasn't at Shawnee this year, but yayy for new memories and a whole new experience!! The line up is amazing and from what I hear Zoe is gorgeous. I'm super fucking STOKED!! And I got VIP tickets .. soooo WOOT!! Lol.

Cassie, it's Amanda... want to try and play with poi this time (since we failed at the cave last year?)

We still have presales available:
http://www.campzoe.com/undergroundsound2009.html
It is only VIP that are sold out.
Also I do not know where the rumor started but entry will NOT be cheaper at the gate.
If you want to save money buy pre-sales now. Our gate staff must account for everything so there will be no deals cut at the venue.
See you all soon!
Tom

After many years of development, we have finally reached critical mass to evolve as individuals, as a scene, and as a community. We are moving to a new and wondrous venue where we can evolve into the next level of consciousness, creativity and appreciattion of beauty. This 'we' includes you and everyone. Everyone is to partake this year. Express your creativity from your smile and the way you walk to the way you dress(costumes encouraged) to your music and your sharing of your art(painting, sculpting, stacking and arranging). Creativity is our expression of the divine spark and should be allowed to permeate everything we do. As we gather in an open and creative environment we magnify the power of this spark and can create truly inexpressible moments of beauy for ourselves and each other. Let us gather as part of the great EDM arts and consciousness movement.

What is expected of you?
Respect: By respecting your neighbor and the land you build respect for yourself and for our community.
Creativity: Dress up, paint, dance.
Sharing: Sharing is important and can showcase your creativity and spread kind vibes throughout. Trading is also encouraged as a creative means of barganing.
Theme Camps: Set up a camp with your friends, decorate and add elements for others to enjoy, make a sign to identify your camp.
How big should our camp be? It can be solo or 40 or even 100 or more of your close friends or soon to be friends. Take initiative to start your own camp or look for posts for other camps and offer to contribute to the creative sharing of the camp. (This can be adding in deco, a camp food kitchen, setting up some sort of activity or workshop, or anything else you might imagine.) We encourage camping and staying as long as possible. We will have running water for drinking (However you can bring your own beverages as well), shower houses, bathrooms, and plenty of well maintained portalets. You may be thinking, "Wow, what more could we ask for?" How about a crystal clear cool water creek for swimming, wading, or generally cooling off and soft pepple shores to soak in the afternoon sun. Oh and don't forget sound camps bringing you some of the worlds mos innovative electronic dance music, mixed up with the classic sounds we all know and love throughout the days and nights. However if all of this is not enough to keep you on-site, there are a number of nearby hotels and lodges.
