Misc Migrains

So ever since you were exposed to the mold for an extended period of time, it has triggered migraines for you? That must be tough, and I feel for you. I feel like opioids never really gave me relief when it comes to headaches, and the same was true for my ex who used to use the imitrex. If you are removed from the moldy environment do the headaches let up?
i can smell mold a mile away. and no they don't get better, but they are worse around mold. they are more a sinus pressure headache than a migraine. i can ALWAYS tell when it's going to rain or is raining or when the barometric pressure changes

Once you have a mold reaction, you can be very sensitive to it. I had a bad reaction years ago and right now I am cleaning light mold in the same basement, Smatterings of black up the walls in a couple of corners. Most would call it a little mildew.

Asthma like symptoms, puffy eyes, and a rash on my arms which lasts (my arms were covered). No one else had any reaction at all, just like before. I expect the problems to continue for me for some time, even with the mold killed. Nasty stuff.

Yes, mold can be very nasty. I'm sorry to hear that you've been suffering like this. It is also very tough to control and remove once you find it. I've dealt with a little bit of black and pink molds before and they are very tenacious!

Is there anyone on this forum who experiences migrains ??

If so could you please let me know what you use to make them go away.

Thanks in advance ☺️
I was active duty military and air traffic controller with up to five migraines a week I got Botox shots and matrix beta blockers steroid shots absolutely nothing helped finally I started taking BC powder with a whole 20 ounce of Mountain Dew and if I went right to bed with ice on my head it would go away and that's what I do still to this day There's a bag you can buy from Walgreens you put ice in it and you put that on your head where your migraine is take either BC powder with caffeine and acetaminophen or Excedrin migraine with Red Bull or Mountain Dew and immediately go lay down in a dark room I hear this works for lots of people me getting free healthcare from the military trying everything did nothing I didn't even wanna go to the appointments cause it was a big waste of my time on the contrary when I was hooked on methamphetamine and Xanax the whole entire three or four years I never got sick never got a migraine Very strange. I do believe a high heart rate or blood pressure and hot climate areas oh Lord shit the list goes on perfume smells stenches gasoline pollution if I look the wrong way I'll get a migraine

I find it interesting and surprising that smoking some meth seems to provide you with relief. Have you ever told a doctor about your meth use? If so, how did they react? I feel for you very much. It was my ex-girlfriend who used to use Imitrex to combat her migraines. It was very scary having to watch her medicate herself like that. They gave her pretty much every drug under the sun to try and deal with them, and the only thing that worked was the Imitrex. Isn't Imitrex some kind of ergotamine? The tablets never helped me, and I will usually just do my best to "ride out" my migraines when I get them. I'm sure mine aren't as debilitating as yours, as I am able to use Excedrin Migraine to mitigate most of the symptoms, and I feel lucky in that respect. Also I used to be on high dosages of ADD meds, mainly vyvanse, and it seemed to make the migraine situation much worse. The stimulants also destroyed a big part of my ambition and motivation to better my life. I hope your migraines let up in the future. Thanks for posting this information!
This is very common for me too when I'm hooked on meth and Xanax I'm never sick and I have a military doctor and I tell them all the time when I'm hooked on drugs I never get migraines and sometimes I even waltz into my appointments and take my urinalysis and I have Ambien Xanax methamphetamine they just advised me I'm doing havoc on my liver and kidneys And I understand that but fuck that migraine nothing works if I catch it early with Excedrin migraine Mountain Dew and ice to the forehead if I'm lucky it might go away in three days. I don't know I'm really at the point I don't give a shit I go to my doctors and tell them anything what are they gonna do if they deny me any type of med I'll say that's fine I'll just buy it from Mexico or on the street no sweat off my back

Yes bold the barometric pressure allergies people's cologne the smell of asphalt the smell of gas the smell of spices hot humid air paint static on the TV the list goes on Annie and everything could give me a migraine I don't know what the hell that's about I need to live in sterile bubble with no smells and I might not ever get a headache again But then again if a tag on my shirt is poking me the wrong way or the sun's too bright the migraine welcome. I've had them so bad for at least 20 years I don't know why I haven't killed over and died I can't understand what's in my head that could possibly hurt so bad and I'm still alive it's quite amazing literally

YEP! YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! I have found for my sinus headaches cold on the outside and cold on the inside. an ice pack and milk shake helps WAY MORE THAN THE PRESCRIPTION MORPHINE, HYDROCODONE, DILAUDID, OR ANYTHING ELSE THEY HAVE GIVEN ME.

I like that you do ice for your headache as well just like me. Try cold on the outside and cold on the inside by adding a milkshake! Promise it'll help!🥰

My pain threshold is at 11, The nausea Is & being able to not see Is annoying. Having bowel migraines from being ASD-2 scares me as I feel like I'm dying despite not getting actual pain.
I know abdominal migraines are a pretty common thing, but usually those occur during childhood. IBS and migraines also go hand in hand. I'm curious what you do to treat your migraines. Does the diphenhydramine completely relieve your symptoms? Do you see a DR about your migraines? You could get prescribed something to help the nausea. I take promethazine when I get really nauseous.
I looked into migraines and asd. My youngest son is also on the spectrum. He did not inherit migraines. I have always thought I am on the spectrum and never realized there was a coalition to migraines. Thank you for sharing that.

No I take them orally, before I got on them I kept the headaches marked off in my daily planner, got them every 2 weeks, now with them under control, about once a month, thank god so I stretch the meds, I never could do anything
intranasally
I do the same thing. I only get 9 imitrex 100mg tabs a month. I split them in half to stretch them out. I've taken it since it first came out in 93. I've found that half a tab will work for a while, but I usually need another half before the day is over. I also get the injections so I do have those as well. I get daily migraines. They are not medication overuse headaches, which is something you need to be aware of. You can tell the difference because the one caused by medication overuse do not respond to the meds. You usually need a several day break to reset if that does happen.
Strangely enough the nasal spray never worked for me. Opioids never touched my headaches. They'd give me their cocktail in the ER and then a shot of fentanyl (allergy to morphine). That would never work. No many how many times I tell the DR that, it didn't matter. I've given up on going to the hospital when they're really really bad. I'll just stick to the meds I have on hand.

We have so much in common rentedbythe hour, one of my boys did too, yes, why they only prescribe 9 pills monthly blows my mind mind, but I do exact same thing, I do remember getting one imitrex shot many years ago, but past two years, after getting denied all fancy migraine meds, quelepta, etc.. imitrex does work usually after second half tablet at some point

It goes away quick If I do 50mg DPH once ever 3 days, It literally line up with LSD or DXM body load from too much non-CNS 5HT.

Suffering (and I mean that literally) with migraines is something that most people don't understand. After 35+ years of having migraines, almost daily for the past 17 years, finding relief from using meth is almost a godsend. I thankfully do not get any psychosis or other negative effects from it. I do use daily now. It's amazing how much it's changed my life. 2 years ago I could barely get out of bed. I felt horrible all the time. Now I'm traveling, I'm out all the time, I have more of a social life than I've had in years, I physically feel better. I have energy. I'm able to get things done that I couldn't do before. I'm not as depressed. Even getting up and doing something daily helps with mood, depression, anxiety. I know it's not all from the meth, but I really think it's had the biggest impact.
A strange thing though. I started using back in 2017. It's only been a year or so that I've gotten these benefits.

It's all insurance will approve apparently. My old neurologist did get me approved for 12 pills at one point, but that was a while ago. Now I get 9 pills and up to 6 injections. I hate using the injections though. They're painful and I usually end up with bruising. I've tried a lot of the new meds that came out the past few years. They didn't work for me. So I stay with imitrex. I don't know if you've read any of the other posts here but I use meth pretty much daily now. I rarely have to take my meds anymore. I'm not sure why, but with a small daily dose, my headaches have pretty much stopped. I'll still get one occasionally that I need needs for, but it's pretty rare. It's only happened for the past year or so, but it's been a huge relief to be pain free.

I've Got ASD-2 which Is HF Classic autism.

There really no pain It feels like my brain dumping out that act likes a SNRI or 5HT agonist to my bowels. I've always wondered If serotonin takes over as a excitation complex since NMDA is inhibitory, When I tried Chlorphenamine at 8 ~ 16mg I get stimulant effects yet my mum found 4mg very sedating. When I do Alcohol at high doses It feels like like I did Shrooms & Datura without their issues. Only Deliriants give me a proper trip/high feeling, Nitrous still counts since It a GABA-A agonist as a 2nd effect.

i suffered with "Basilar migraines" for 20+ yrs...took me 10 yrs to get diagnoised. symptoms were extreme vertigo, silient migraines, nausea....
am taking verapamil (blood pressure) & amytriptyline to control it & Elatriptan when needed.

I took Verapamil for years for coital headaches. Look it up. There's a real kick in the balls.
Thankfully, I hardly ((:) ever get those anymore without the Verapamil, and it worked a charm. And, I get now mild ones at first and I know to cool it for the day. That's great because they drop you to the ground and last the rest of the day.
Anyway, I liked Verapamil because it worked and had zero CNS effects which is what I wanted at that stage of life.

A blinding, stabbing headache which makes you think you're having a stroke for 10 minutes or so and then a bad headache the rest of the day. Verapamil every day basically made them go away. After some years on it I tried doing without and don't need it anymore, I guess. I would only get one if I was doing it multiple times a day, like at least 3. Now, if I do multiples I'll get a milder headache right at first and I know to cool it. I also found that I get them only when I'm tired and worn down.

Just diving in the mold house and aware its very unhealthy.
Wasn t aware it can even cause migraine. Black mold is famous.
How bout the others ?

The Mold s themselves disappear by cleaning Vinegar,
always re-appear, tenacious. But the problem underneath.
Proper, extreme compared to the norm venting don t help.
Neither do the new air vents in the Hr++ Glass windows.

Its from up, a leaking old chimney, and down uprising moist.
My crawl space is a swimming pool 20 cm water & 50 cm high.
A guy went in, to check the concrete rot. That s a cool job !

That s what i pay rent for.
