Melbourne Food Society - Fri 31st Aug - Japanese!

Well im going to Hawaii, La, San Francisco, San Diego, Vegas, Texas, then im doing a road trip from New Orleans to Savannah along the south coast, then going to New York for 6 nights, then flying to Mexico for a week.

Monies, not luck is the reason this trip was able to happen !

According to the site, Richmond seems to be full of good Parma action? The following pubs are all listed in the top ratings:

Mt. View Hotel
Corner Hotel
Royal Oak Hotel
Prince Alfred Hotel
Kingston Hotel

.... anyone been to any of these and can vouch for the ambience (don't want anywhere too dirty/dodgy)?

Non-Parma fans, there will surely be something else on a pub menu to suit you. You know we're only going there to drink all afternoon anyway :D

ps. Aha my favourite parma place, The Notting Hill (Clayton) is on the list!

I believe Richmond may be the go?

The London also got some good reviews from BL'ers earlier in this thread.

The London is a pretty cool pub and was my local for a while. Fantastic HUGE beer garden and top notch food.

COTB: don't worry I'm not entirely sure I'll go a Parma either, I do love me a good steak or even fish when I'm out, particularly because I have no clue how to cook them at home :)

i'm not shaw if ill make this now it's on the 30th, but if i do come. the prince alfred & the kingston look good to me. so they get my vote. i just hope they don't over cook my steak. i've had a horror run with that lately.

i've still yet to get Sunday 1st of July off work :( -like swap it
I wanted to swap it for a shift on the weekend of the 16th/17th so I'd be free for MPs bday bash (if I can make it). But mite have to try n negotiate using that weekend as an option now..

I should b able to swap it. Betta..

and for the venue??..

can I still push the importance of the parma? =D
www.superparma.com as a reference? (I don't mind really)

oh just how bout the one near the tram stop n thing...Richmond was it?

least we have the date set :)

oh yeah we sitll need a location for this debauchery
I'd be suggest-u-ous (like my new made up word?) but truth be told I don't know a lot of options like been to a lot of places in the CBD and surrounding areas

n now I hand the reins over to.. (??)

rising sun - good steaks
holliava - they have rad swing nights

what else? theres heaps i never eat at home

^ Yay, someone who knows the pubs. So what would be your pick?

The Corner sounded good when I did my first investigations...

Pretty handy to transport (only 50 mtres from Richmond station, trams going right by) and the rooftop does sound good (hopefully it won't rain ;) ). What's the food like?

Also anyone any thoughts on the Prince Alfred? The heated beer garden sounded awesome to me. http://pubbing.com/v/580/
