Melbs Food & Wine Festival

Okay then let's see. As far as actual 'events', the MFF list for the 17th isn't looking promising as meetup material :

Lots of expensive, out of the way things being held places like Werribee Zoo and the Botanic Gardens, wine & cheese tastings, chocolate appreciation, plus some fancy cocktail events.

I can't see anything about $30 lunches on there MP, but maybe individual restaurants just do their own thing and it's not on the official Festival site?

ps. I'm not opposed to lunch if people are keener on that. Just means an earlier start to the after-feeding festivities :D

I think the 3rd of those teppanyaki restaurants seems the best in terms of it being well-established and popular but still reasonably priced.

$60 for teppanyaki is OTT, IMNSHO.

Yeah, that's Chapel street for you. Ultra-Trendy and twice the price.

I've paid $50+ before for Teppinyaki but that was a full on menu with the lot, you have to be pretty hungry to eat the full menu.

I liked the look of Teppanyaki Inn too. Looks like it would have space for a BL gathering.

Yeah sake is pretty foul. I don't recommend green tea icecream either. It sounds like it will be nice, but isn't.
