Melbourne Food Society - Fri 31st Aug - Japanese!

To be honest I can't give a 100% definite I'm going as yet- have the see the cash situation after the long wkend (not to mention attempts to put money aside for my holiday in late March ain't going too well :/).
But I'll try n put some dosh aside in advance, n also making sure I won't be put on work that night. Really want to come!
Plus I made the thread- it'd be wrong to not come =D
It's not fair on the food, all it even wanted is to be eaten...

and I've never tried sake. I'm sure I won't like it but I have to try it just the same.

Failure to realise that this is St.Patties Day.. And as such I shall be spending the day getting ratardingly drunk at a party at mine, many apologies.

count me in now! I can't miss this :)

do we have to go the $51 one- I don't even like salmon & scallops..
but ykno either way.

Once again I'm faced with the puzzle- how can I combine getting home solo & safely with planning to kick on n drink. hmm. I'll sort it out (hitch-hiking comes to mind...)

Yeah is there anything on the menu that doesn't involve seafood......or duck? My mum went to a japanese place once and ended up eating a ducks foot. I don't think I could eat a ducks foot. Chickens on the menu yeah??

^ yeah I'm not a fan of seafood either. chicken for the win!

Duck is actually nice (n I can be a bit fussy at times). I had duck crepes in Little China town lil while back n they were delish.
Duck's foot yuk!

chicken/duck feet seem to be more and more common in soups etc lately, wonder who started that trend?

Every tiiiime I come in the kitchen, you in the kitchen. In the goddamn refrigerator. Eatin' all the food.

All the chitlins...
All the pig feet...
All the collard greens...
All the hog maws.
I want somma them chitlins! I looove pig feet!

I'm undecided, though I also am not particularly keen on paying $51 for japanime.

However, I am undecided so I'm not sure whether that is even a contributing factor :p

Okay, whatever - $39 menu it is! There is less seafood on that one, you bunch of weirdos (who doesn't like seafood?????).

college_dropout: there is chicken, and there is beef. And there is soup and dumplings and rice. Plenty of non-seafood things.

:D
