Melb - Two Tribes - Melbourne Park - REVIEWS

kandyraverchick said:
It was definately good to experience a two tribes party but I think I'll be sticking to smaller parties in the future. BRING ON ALTONA SPORTS AND LEISURE CENTRE EVENTS!!! :D

kandyraverchick, you're a gal after my own heart! It was my first TT too and while I had fun, it was just too big for me. I love altona - nice and cosy!!! Can't wait to go to another party out there - it's been almost a year since the last one I went to :(

Did anyone not see the dozens of people that smashed down the fencing between part of the two main arena's, which some of jumped the barbwire fence as well. There was like one security versus 60 people. After a matter of minutes, some more security came, but literally gave up as it was mayhem. The people that couldn't jump the barbwire fence as well, casually walked off.

There was one guy that had a whinge. He was sneaking in under the barbwire fence, when security pulled him back out; then the fuckwit starts saying, "that's assualt, that's assault".

^^^^i think its become a running competition every T.T to see who can sneak in and not get caught 8)

Yeah I saw the people crash the fence, some poor guy was tripping bad sat down by the fence, when he was suddenly ran over by the masses jumping it! We also saw a group of people with fence cutters trying to cut a hold in, security chased them a couple of times, not sure if they made it!

Yeah, I jumped early into the dance area before Prodigy even started, and they had closed that area off, yet every time the security guards turned their back about another 10 people jumped down ! I did see them escort a few people out who the caught as they landed, but on the whole there where way too many people, and too little security guards to watch everyone!

i jumped down a 9 foot drop to get onto the floor on prodigy (honestly it didnt look that far) i wasnt hurt but a security guard came and grabbed me and told me to sit down for a lil bit ( he must have thought i was munted) funny thing is i wasnt that fucked yet

in regards to the sound levels, well i saw a guy with a DB meter, he was regulating sounds across arenas, if you remember last year the sound was totally fucked, too much hissing. well it pissed me off.

well i had a ball but the line up wasn't all that great,
dave seaman did my day for sure.

whichever bluelighter that was that randomly picked me out of the crowd at about 4am in the morning and i was chatting to, i'd like to say hi... even though i cant remember what your nickname was ....

you seemed really nice :)

I loved it. my first big event. everything was awesome. Even danced, didn't feel like a complete knob, which is unusual for me. It was fun :)

my first big event :D
and absoultly loved it!!!

and muzby I think that random was me.?
But I swear it was between 6-7am?
was she really really tall?

normally I'm shy and quiet
but when I'm not sober I'll talk to any familiar face
afterwards I felt a lil' silly, but oh well

I was planning to come to the meet up, but at 11 I was on the dancefloor and I didnt want to risk not being able to come back down there again for prodigy. Plus at that stage I was a sober and a bit shy because of the fact that no one would really know me cause I'm more of a lurker on here :p

only downsides to the night is that I didnt get to see everything I had planned to see, cause it took too long to actually get to the different arena's and no not cause of all the lines either! My silly friends kept on getting lost, scattered and off track and wanting to go buy this and then forgetting where we were actually going and why....lol

and my poor feet were sooo sore the next day........But I should have known not to buy new shoes to wear that night without wearing them in 8(

Two Tribes this time... hmmm. Yes I had fun, but seriously an hour line up -to get in not cool! I think it also had something to do with not having an ultra special DJ to work your whole night around. I wanted to see Hawtin (only got to see 5 mins of him damn, retaded jumping castle usage!) MIKE (not bad) and Prodigy... I was overwhelmed by the amount of people in Rod Laver, a bit too hot for me, got out quick smart.

Highlights: Anything outside, the jumping castle, ferris wheel, Extreme room (if too small & hot), all the little stalls, talking to people... getting heaps of sms 'Come to vodaphone now going off!', dressing up fuck that was fun!

Lowlights: Um losing one of my friends for literally 5 hours... missions taking hours to complete, some times going really fast & others really slow.

I agree with the person who complained about the sound - even in the Extreme room it seemed like the sound was in mono. Where were the big thumping beats?! :(

Overall I still loved my two tribes but I guess I'm comparing to my beloved '04 & '03!

Had a blast thanks to the lovely smiling crowd of beautiful friends. :)

POSITIVES;
16.gif
Dressing up in camo' gear, and stylin' it up, and perving on Muzby, Pop Popavich and Duckboy in their hawt camo' outfits all night.
16.gif
Watching The Prodigy play Breathe and going off with the rest of the crowd.
16.gif
Getting rather messy, and going on the Ferris Wheel.

NEGATIVES;
16.gif
The god/dess damn line!! Lucklily a friend let us in [don't hate us!?].
16.gif
The crowd in The Prodigy. Too hot, too close together to dance properly, and way too much cigarette smoke. -=Chokes=-

The meetup. :|

All in all a pretty great night, nothing really extraudinary - - - starting to think I'm a little over big events. :\

my summation:

arrived about 10, took one look at the 'express' queue and headed for the 'bag inspection' queues. inside within 10 minutes :] had a chuckle later on, seeing that express queue curving all the way around the corner.
caught up with various bluelighters, then lost most of em when we headed inside for the prodigy.
rod laver was utterly packed - however the stands were crap imo, needed to be down in the pit.
security started blocking the doors, and telling people to use door #X to get back in etc.
the male toilets outside rod laver was packed full of people - male & female - getting wasted.

went over to extreme for 5 seconds, the place had all of 20 people in it at this point, riiight. onto godskitchen where we had a bit of fun in the queue:
gym tard> *pushes into queue*
me> *pushes back*
..few minutes go by..
gym tard> *wasted stare + expletives* don't fuckin touch me
me> wtf chill man
gym tard> *expletives* fuckin smash you cunt *expletives*
me> ...
rav> *looks*
gym tard> *expletives* you lookin at?
gym tard> *expletives* *expletives* something *expletives*
rav> ...
:\

caught a bit of signum before headin to the breaks room for a bit. hate to admit it, but the music wasn't bad :]
ended up back @ godskitchen (via extreme again, which was pickin up) and spent the last 2-3hrs there.
towards the end, encountered some security guards being overwhelmed at one of the exits, then attacked by two guys o_O that was a tad fucked up.

not a bad night overall.

Personally..that is the 4th 2T I have been to, and it will be my last.

I thought it was awful.

Its more and more obvious to me now that future care not for the party goers, but more so lining their already full pockets.
The event was masively oversold and massively commercial.
My idea of a good event, is NOT to queue for hours to get into see gigs I paid $70 for.

Its a shame, I have enjoyed 2T every other year and have always hailed them to be my favourites events of the year...this year, I was let down.

as previously mentioned...

us in our cammo gear...
