thats quite funny, because the last EC i went to the magority of the people there would of been candy ravers. we cant expect and carnival to stay the same for ever can we? the place and world is growing. more people want to go so they have to cater to more people and their different needs.

Too true but I was there last year and i saw more freaks and trance heads than ravers. Maybe you were at Kryal Castle or a hardware party or even Rainbow Serpent ? Espeically rainbow. More fluffy ravers there this year than you could poke a stick at =D

Too true

Only thing is these jaded types are being jaded as some form of fashion statement expression and nothing to do with the party itself. After reading the peck and endless's comments I laughed harder as I know whilst they are sitting home being jaded I'll be on the dancefloor with 1000's of overs having a ball !!!!!!!!!!!!

Their loss.

BRING ON EARTHCORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=D

Apparently the police presence will kept to a minimum. Fellow BLer Black Octagon got in contact with the organisers and they reckon there'll be no sniffer dogs and few police because there's a big car show-petrol head thing happening nearby at the same time, and most police will be there... due to alcohol, mullets, e.t.c.

...Reflects pretty well on what the police think of the earthcore crowd :)

I'm just quoting someone though, I'll get him to post exactly what he found out so you can take it from him.

But still, I think that's pretty good news...

FUCKEN EARTHCORE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

FEATURE ACTS:

AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS (LIVE)

Garry Cobain & Brian Dougans (FSOL / Amorphous Androgynous) have been releasing and recording music since the early nineties, most notably their classic 'Papua New Guinea' in 1992. They released five albums through the nineties before growing tired of the limitations and constraints of the electronic scene they had helped to create. Extensive travels through India influenced a new musical directions for both Gary and Brian. Drawing on the spirit of early psychedelia and leftfield 60’s/70’s rock and saw the forging these new influences with the new technology and production expertise they had acquired. The resultant album, The Isness, released under the Amorphous Androgynous moniker, was a cosmic mix of psychedelia, folk, big band, orchestral, eastern classical and electronic. Featuring an exotic mix of musical collaborators including Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart/Jeff Buckley), Herbie Flowers (David Bowie, Lou Reed) and revered Indian classical sitarist Baluji Shrivastav.

The latest offering (Alice In Ultraland), has expanded on psychedelic / electronic soundscape, and taken the Amorphous sound into new directions. Typified by a samplerdelic funkoid roktronic cosmic ambient oozescape, merging the sonic with the lyric, the beat with the beat-less, the classic rock with the epic freeform roll. From the Miles Davis infused mutoid jazz to the electro funkadelic twists and turns and epic smatterings of Pink Floydisms this is an album full of sonic imagery and infinite possibilities.

PERRY FARRELL

Perry Farrell is quite simply, one of the most influential and original musical figures of our lifetime. Dubbed as the "Godfather of Alternative Rock,” Farrell put together one of the great rock bands of all time, Jane's Addiction in the early 80's. Farrell and Jane's addiction changed the music scene and paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. In '93, Perry created his next project, Porno for Pyros. MTV listed Farrell as one of the top ten most influential music identities of the 90's. Farrell is also the creator of visionary music festival, Lollapalooza.

For the last 8 years, Farrell has enjoyed life as an international DJ. With an appetite for super-mixed danceteria rhythms and shimmering textures and he recently was invited to perform as a DJ for the opening of the Museum Of Modern Art in New York.

As a surf and extreme sport enthusiast and athlete, Farrell is the reigning champion of the Kelly Slater/Quicksilver Invitation - Celebrity division, which was held in Tavarua, Fiji in 2005.

JUNO REACTOR (LIVE)

Ben Watkins, the main creative driver behind Juno Reactor, has been at the forefront of numerous electronic musical projects that have pushed ahead of populist trends. As far back as 1983 he released a couple of albums with “Youth” as the empty quarter.

Juno Reactor emerged, initially as an experimental ambient soundtrack, recorded live by ben to accompany a sculptural art installation and performance project by artist norma fletcher entitled 'the missile project'. Juno's sound is in a continual state of evolution, always moving ahead of the pack.

By the 'bible of dreams' album of 1997, Juno had moved towards a much more punchy and focused sound. Ben came into contact with traditional South African percussion act Amampondo ( Nelson Mandela's favorite band). As well as his own original productions, Ben Watkins has also remixed artists such as Devo, Talking Heads, Fatima Mansions, Siouxie & the Banshees and Killing Joke as well as composing and producing four tracks for former porn star Traci Lords' debut album '1000 fires'. His dramatic instrumental versions have all since appeared on film soundtracks for punchy action movies like 'Mortal Kombat', 'Virtuosity', 'Eraser', 'Lost in Space', 'Tomb Raider' and most notably his contribution to the soundtrack on the 'Matrix Trilogy. A selection of Juno Reactor's Albums and DVD are available from www.psytrax.com

REGURGITATOR (LIVE)

In march 94... Ben Ely and Quan Yeomans cemented their relationship with Martin Lee by constructing a side project to their other bands and 'Regurgitator' was born. They felt this name appropriately described their assembled mass of styles, sounds & attitudes. Fueled as much by their unmitigated cynicism & geek nature Signed initially to the Warner corporation with the first self-titled EP released soon after in late 94... featuring the tracks I Like it Like That and Couldn`t Do it, it laid the groundwork for a reception of new sound proportions. In late 95 they embarked on their first overseas trip - a full European tour with US acts Filter & God Lives Underwater, followed by their first performances in Tokyo at the punk club Guilty before returning to Australia to play some shows with Swervedriver .... Regurgitator have gone on to tour with some of the biggest names, such as 'the Red Hot Chili Peppers', 'Prodigy '. There have also been releases tracks on world famous 'Sub Pop records' in the US as well as a multitude of releases in Japan. The second album UNIT heralded a new direction with a strong pop ala 80`s electro vibe although never short of their self-deprecating sense of humor and fun. This album catapulted the band into mainstream consciousness selling in excess of 240,000 copies - reaching triple platinum in Australia. Since then the band have never looked back, playing several big day out tours, extensive overseas tours and releases all over the world from Scandinavia to Singapore. In June 2002 they performed in London at the Fierce Festival to 20,000 people, along with Midnight Oil, Spiderbait etc.
Last year Regurgitator famously locked themselves in a giant “fishbowl studio' where they recorded their most recent album.

LAB 4 (UK - LIVE)

LAB-4 played their first gig at the Ministry of Sound for the fetish club , "Torture Garden" in December of 1994.We only played for about 20 minutes and that included every track we had written and a remix of the track we started our set with! And they have not looked back since. Around April 1996, LAB-4 started getting phone calls from various clubs around the country who had been playing "transformation" as their "end of night asking if we played live and would we come and play the last hour for them. One of the first and most memorable of these gigs was our first at "Escape from Samsara" at the Fridge. Well , they played it deep and dark and full of energy got asked back and since then have played hundreds of gigs for over one hundred different promoters up and down the UK as well as gigs in Holland, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. It is safe to say that Lab 4 are one of the hottest acts on the planet right now!!!!!!

SIMON POSFORD
(HALLUCINOGEN - LIVE, SHPONGLE – DJ SET)

Simon Posford is a pioneer of electronic music and one of the founders of the psy-trance movment. With the release of his first album, "Twisted", which reached Number 27 in the French album charts, a genre was born. There are many words to describe modern electronic music but none that come close to the wealth of emotion and experience that comes from listening to a Posford tune.

These days he is just as likely to be entrancing crowds around the globe with a throbbingly epic live set as he is to be dribbling ambient delectations in the Hallucinogen Soundlabs in the West Country. He is co-director of legendary record label 'Twisted Records' with Simon Holton, ex-label manager of Dragonfly Records. Hallucinogen's second album "The Lone Deranger" blew the lid off the musical scene that had built up around his influence. Not only did it have more of the killer musical riffs but also was a feat of clean production and professionalism previously seen with the likes of The Floyd, one of Simon's major influences. Another tune that influenced Simon was "The Age of Love" by Jam & Spoon and this can be heard in some of his earlier releases. In the past couple of years, Simon Posford has continued to with a wide range of people, producing tracks with Benji Vaughan as their band Younger Brother, and with dubbster 'Ott' . Besides Hallucinogen, Simon is the musical genius behind Shpongle, and for this latest orgy of brain fluid he gathered a multitude of other talented musicians, as well, of course, as Raja Ram the Druid of Psy . . .their latest offering is the long awaited “shpongle 3, '. . .nothing lasts but nothing is lost'. Shpongle's 5 albums and Hallucinogens 2 albums are both aviable from www.psytrax.com
