Mega Merged WD Thread

The worst is when you are addicted to benzo's and opiates like me. And its worse when i mix alcohol and weed and cig's everyday. I have tried quiting opiates but relapse after a week or 2. The worst withdrawls will be between 48-72 hours period of your last dose.

Poppy Tea Withdrawals - *** Please Help ***

Here's the situation. For the past month and a half I've literally been drinking poppy tea every day. I know, stupid choice. I've gone through two cases of pods (each case had 100 pods). I started using 7 pods to make the tea, then increased until know it takes around 30 or so pods. I've been using the Gigantheum variety of Papaver Somniferum. They are high quality pods. My concern is that for the past week I've been experiencing what I think are withdrawal symptoms. The reason I think this is because they occured when I stopped drinking the tea. I still have around 25 pods, and I'm using them to brew a batch right now for withdrawals--to ween me off. I was thinking about drinking three cups tonight and tomorrow, then two cups on Friday and Saturday, then a cup on Sunday and Monday. My symptoms are horrible. I will list them now:

Symptoms:

1. Headache
2. Body aches
3. Extreme body chills
4. Sweats, especially at night
5. Vomiting, especially in the middle of the night
6. Agitation and inability to sit still
7. Cough and congestion

I went to the doctor on Monday because I thought maybe I was wrong and perhaps I just was sick. They diagnosed me as having a respiratory infection and gave me Amoxicillan and 210 ml Histussin for the cough and congestion. The Histussin is gone. Completely. I drank it all last night because I wanted the hydrocodone nod. I know that's stupid because I could have also used that to help with the withdrawal symptoms.

I guess I'm asking what I should do? I've never had physicall withdrawal symptoms before. I've read about them in a past class and other people's experiences on here, but I've never thought about them as affecting me. I was wrong. I don't mean to belittle them by saying that, but you never think of something as happening to you until it does.

I've heard Loperamide sort of works for withdrawals, should I give that a try? Do you think the titration method of the cups of tea that I listed above is okay, should I space them out more, less? I just want to feel better. I know I made a dumb decision by drinking the shit everyday, but I really thought it was no big deal--poppy pods, who would have thought? Please, someone help. I'm open to any and all advice, especially from experience BL'ers who have gone through WD's before.

The reducing tea method is most probably your best bet (esp if you keep consuming at once all the opiates a doc gives you). You're still going to feel some WD symptoms, just not as bad as a sudden stop.

Now you know why they advise against using opiates every day

I am really sorry you are going through this, and yes they are WD's I am waiting to get on Bupenophine detox program, after getting hooked on opiate pain medication.

I found out just as you, that if you take opiates of any kind, you need to respect them very much, that is why you are sick, and that is why I am sick, because we didn't respect them to begin with..

If no one else tells you this, let me tell you this up front so you know..

The more times you go into WD's, the worse it will get the next time... Try to taper off now, before you can't....

Good luck...

Elysees:

I'm sorry if I can't be all pseudo-heroin chic like you, and pay attention to the "pseudo" part--figure it out for yourself.

You don't see me judging others by their actions, not to mention making fun of them like some e-tard. Perhaps you should either 1.) act your age, 2.) shut the fuck up, because I'm not in the mood to deal with your shit, or 3.) have enough tact, manners, and class not to post if you have nothing positive (or at least constructive) to say.

Everyone else:

Thanks for your advice. I had two glasses about a half an hour after I posted this, and I feel much better. I realize I made a big mistake by not respecting the tea, but I feel like I shouldn't be judged (see above) just because it's not everyone's cup of tea (i.e., heroin, etc.). Thanks for your help.

Calm down you big puss bag, I said I was sorry. I won't even go into why you suddenly think im all heroin chic. all I ment was that poppy pods are pretty damn weak compared to heroin or basically any other opiate for that matter.. 1)chill please. 2)I feel your agonizing pain. and 3) deal with it.

well if its been a week, then the withdraw symptoms should be going away.

it sucks, but i'd just ride it out and next time be better prepared when you stop using (live and learn, been there)

there was no need to say sorry, you shouldnt have made that pointless post in the first place.

Actually, I work with pods that provide a nod every bit as good as IV oxycodone, or insufflated heroin. Never IVed heroin, but I have had poppy pod nods that were every bit as strong as heroin, if not stronger. Also, physical dependence on opium pods can be as bad (or worse according to some at poppies.org ) as any heroin addiction.

Everybody is different. And we are here to support each other, not laugh down on other people. Please be more mature. I'm sure if you started a thread asking for help you wouldn't appreciate this kind of thing.

To the thread starter: I'm sorry about your situation, and i don't have much in the way of advice. But it's good that you are seeking help. Take care, and all the best.

Peace

Super pods and other myths...

WindingVines:You work with pods that are stronger than heroin?I doubt it since pods are just the source of opium which is itself the sap that contains dozens of alkaloids. The highest morphine content is in the 2 digits so I do not how you come to that conclusion. If you still feel that way I hope you will post the variety so that the world will be a better place.

Apples and oranges. Oral poppy tea can OD you, make you nod, and produce just as much euphoria, or whatever else you are looking for, as Heroin. Anyone that thinks heroin is "better" or "worse" is ignorant. It doesn't matter what you are addicted to, if you are shooting Heroin, taking 15 Ultram per day, or drinking coffee-dark P Tea. . .to each his own.

Beg to differ...

Although it was not my point I still feel that your assertion is flawed.Compare a joint of "ragweed" with 1 tablet of T.H.C. ...Poppy tea will give you a positive for opiates, relax you, even addict you but it will not give you a heroin high...Ah,but if it would...

Everyone: Thanks for your support and advice. I drank a glass before work today, which I didn't really mind because--even though it's fairly strong / dark tea--one glass just doesn't do it for me anymore. Needless to say I wasn't high, but I certainly was more comfortable: I wasn't cold, I didn't sweat, I wasn't agitated, I didn't have a headache, I wasn't nautious. I began to feel a little cold and sweaty by the time I got home a little while ago, so I drank another glass. I guess I'll just keep spacing the glasses out until I feel like the WD's are coming back. I'm hoping that by the time I run out of tea (this is, alas, my last batch), I'll be weened to the point where it won't be so bad.

Also, I didn't mean for this thread to turn into a "which opiate is stronger" type of thing. Yes, I don't doubt that heroin and other strong opiate produce horrible withdrawals, and yes I know that their charm lies in their incredible euphoria. I've experimented with stronger opiates: heroin (snorting) and Fent (patch) once, oxy a few times, demerol three times, and hydro many times. I believe the one's who've posted when they said that they're all different. Do I think poppy tea produces a heroin-like high? Well, no. I actually think poppy tea is more sedating than heroin, while heroin produces more euphoria. Poppy tea also is more dizzying in the head, I guess because all of the different alkaloids. But, then again, if given the choice, I'd probably take 100mg hydrocodone over a bag of heroin to sniff or an OC 40. That's just my preference, I LOVE hydrocodone's euphoria and nod. I guess I'm trying to say that, yes, they're different, but at the same time they all end up producing WD's, the extent of which depends on different circumstances, mainly how much and how long you used.

Again, thanks for the help and advice.

If you did not know by now, poppy tea can produce WD's with the best of them. The fun lies in the length you are sick. Usually 7-10 days for most people, this is because of the half-life of the some 40 alkaloids last up to 72 hours. You really don't feel too bad until day three. Other opies like Heroin and Hydro will put you through hell too if you abuse them enough, except the worst is over in 3-4 or 5 days. Just because the poppy is a natural plant, like Clonazaman says, it can be very dangerous, and strong, like MGS said.

BF, loperamide ( Immodium) is your friend, as is lots of fluids, easily digestible foods, no alcohol or stimulants (make you fell better in the short term but not in the long term). And just prepare yourself for some nasty of flu-like symptoms. Get Benzos if you can for anxiety and sleep, they work wonders. Above all, don't freak yourself out, what will come will come, you will not feel terrible forever. Oh yea, and drinking poppy tea anymore then once a week is asking for trouble. Read that WD FAQ they talked about too, good stuff.

haha this is weak, poppy tea WD. Try heroin WD! Im sorry btw.

Most of my opiate experience is from pods and pills so I'm not in a position to comment on heroin withdrawl vs pod withdrawl. But I do know from reading comments and opinions from veteran users of both substances at a certain website dedicated to poppies, some with 20 years of opiate experience under their belt, often state pod withdrawl to be worse than heroin withdrawl!
