Mega Merged WD Thread

Ed Gein is a good movie and scary fella. pointless post.

"Ed Gein" was the last movie I had seen on DVD when I joined bluelight....scary fella indeed! But he is by no means an idol or someone I admire....just the first name that came to mind when choosing a screen name...

length of time

With all the posts about heroin and poppy tea WD, I think the reason that poppy tea WD is seen as being worse is that the degree of WD is dependant upon the dose you've been taking, but the length of the WD is substance related. Heroin is a short acting opiate that has WD lasting 3-4 days; morphine (from the poppy tea) is longer acting, and produces a longer WD period, and as anyone who's been through it knows, every day of WD can seem like a waking hell. I have nothing but sympathy for anyone who is dependant on large doses of methadone, and is then suddenly thrown into WD. I've seen someone I know experience this, and it was three weeks of pain and crying for them.

Actually, I work with pods that provide a nod every bit as good as IV oxycodone, or insufflated heroin. Never IVed heroin, but I have had poppy pod nods that were every bit as strong as heroin, if not stronger. Also, physical dependence on opium pods can be as bad (or worse according to some at poppies.org ) as any heroin addiction.

Very true, poppies are EXTREMELY addicting...

I too am a long time tea drinker. I stopped last year and didn't start up again till 3 or so months ago. When I got the first case, I would only drink one cup per day, and would be extremely 'affected' , pinpoint pupils, massive euphoria, lots of itching. The next case, I was drinking two cups per day and not even really getting high anymore, and I needed to add hydrocodone or tramadol if I wanted an extra push. Now, I drink up to 3 dark and bitter cups QD, and have to wake up early in the morning because withdrawal starts , now, at 8 hours. This is as far as I want to get in my tolerance, so I am substituting with another stronger opioid because I ran out early.

My point, you are not alone.

wow, huh? poppy tea - hmm just found a source for that too.. Would like to give it a go - WITH respect - of course!

It seems to be a little "elitist" to think that Pods arent as addicting, potent and as hard to withdrawl as H can be.

Elitism and pod tea...

Tokerman:Its not so much elitism as common sense. Pods are not psychoactive in themselves. Whatever potency they derive is gleaned from opium which is itself a collection of alkaloids. I do not think that many people would argue that pod tea is not addictive. However many could argue that any withdrawal pales in comparison to that of heroin. In the long run the distinction is not that important because the symptoms are identical, the difference lies in the severity.

Is the main constituent of Opium not Morphine? Yeah, perhaps its w/d is less severe than Heroin, but I don't think it is THAT much less severe...

rachamim18: You might be right as I have never done H before, but have done Pod Tea plenty. I have known and heard of people getting heavily addicted to both with withdrawls with both. I have heard in fact, the WD's from Pod could be a bit worse because of the fact one would be consuming all four of the opiod alkoids and not just the synthesized product of one.

i do agree however that H may be more addicitve and powerful for the facts that it takes much less to get someone off, you can IV H as you can not Pod Tea. Well I guess you could, but really, would someone want too?

The problem I see is that if people get the idea that Pods arent as dangerous as H, they may feel as if they can safely inbibe in it without the consiquences or stigma of H when in fact it isnt true.

::Claps:: Thank you, you took the words out of my mouth.

elysees...

Uh...actually I said that in the first line of the paragraph you quoted...

As for morphine being the highest percentage [out of the psychoactive alkaloids] in pods...yep, but the highest concentration in any variety is in the teens,You have a pod with 15% morphine [which is a very, very high percentage] but when this pod is consumed as tea not all of the 15% is metabolised.Out of the hypothetical 12% that is internalised a further point or two is marginalised in the body...you see what I am getting at here. While heroin is converted to morphine internally, it is able to deliver morphine across the BBB barrier at 3 times the rate of consumed morphine.

As for tea being worse because of the combination of psychoactive alkaloids ,all of them are significantly weaker than heroin.

LOL I guess I wont ever really know unless I have to WD from both. I think I'll just go ahead and take your word for it.

Rachmim: I see what you mean. I guess my reasoning was not very practical. I was simply thinking in terms of Morphine and ignoring the fact that you would need loads of opium tea every day in order to get get a regular supply of enough Morphine to cause severe withdrawals ;). I understand what you're saying.

Yea, but NO ONE knows how the combination of alkaloids effect your receptors. There are zero studies being done about what A+B+D=, you know? With a little bit of research, one can easily find the average % of the major players in poppy tea, and we know rhey are fairly low, so why such fricken awful WD's from pods?

haha this is weak, poppy tea WD. Try heroin WD! Im sorry btw.

what a fag.

anywho, whats the high like with poppy tea? is it euphoric at all? would you describe it as similar to codeine, or more like morphine?

edit: nevermind, i just read through the thread. i guess i'll just have to try it for myself

Mad hungarian...

That would be a valid point except for the fact that there have been plenty of studies concerning polydrug consumption and more specifically poly opiate use. I know that the inevitable question will be which studies so I will try to post them as soon as possible but...use common sense. All opiates/opioids attach to the same receptors. When the receptors are flooded they are flooded, end of story. There might be some unknown factor at work but I have not seen any evidence of it. In my family poppy tea has been used since whenever. It is given to everyone, even babies at certain times. It offers a mild effect but in comparison to other isolated alkaloids it is imperceptible. If you have any experience with opiates/opioids and attempt to obtain the same feeling from "tea" than I am afraid that you will find yourself disappointed. One thing it is great for is in easing withdrawal symptoms.
