I unfortunately have way too much experience with pods.

If your source as you say has weight for weight the same price, then get the bigger pods. They will have a little more, if not a lot more alkaloids in them than the small ones.

Don't forget to mix your whole batch together at once, spreading the doses out as evenly as possible. Start at a low dose to get a feel. It's easy to mess this one up.

Also, you are probably going to want to get both some constipation and diarrhea medication as this stuff will turn your stomach upside down (constipation while you are on it and diarrhea during withdrawals).

thanks for that. i dont know if my source has weight for weight the same price, in fact i have only recently been experimenting with the medium pods (though i have lots of prior experience with pills and heroin). And you are right pods are very harsh on the stomach, but i do like the nice long mild buzz as opposed to the intense rush of heroin and oxy. kinda wish the venders would give you an approx weight of what your buying other than just the number of pods. peace
 
Pod Tea water loss

Checked the mega thread, the information I am seeking was not present. Anyway, recently when making my daily pod tea I notice something new and recurring. I use about 18 jumbo pods and 2 1/2 cups of water. Lately after squeezing the life out of the cloth i notice that I'm left with a loss of a whole cup of water. I'm used to maybe losing half a cup, but a whole cup? I've even tried using different cloths to try and rule that out but nothing. Any ideas out there my friends? And most importantly, am I losing and potency from this phenomena? Take care and be safe.

Immodium for the diarrhea. I've actually heard some people say Immodium can help with other w/d symptoms as well.

For the constipation while you are on the pods, get some fiber (Metamucil or equivalent made from Psyllium Husks) and take it every day and/or every night. Also, chia seeds are amazing for constipation and they are incredibly good for you regardless of the constipation.

Sounds like its just the pod grounds holding in all the water.maybe just add a little more water after the first wash and steep it again to get any remaining goodies if you're worried about it not being as potent as it could be.

yep, its probably the dried pods soaking up the water. you could always do a re-brew on the same pods, i've used the same ground pods 2-3 times for a batch of tea with some success.
 
18 jumbo pods sounds like a lot of pod material. I'm used to losing some water with only 5 jumbos so I'm sure the grounds are soaking it up. I guess I would try to do a rewash once or twice to be sure you are getting all the goods.

18 jumbos though... holy shit. Are they weak pods? Did you escalate your dose up to that point gradually? I've been using for over a year and as I said I only use 5 jumbos.
 
WOWZA! I know this could go in a Trip Report just as easily, but for the sake of an example of opiate tolerance and PPT I figured I'd post here.

So, last night I experimented for the first time with PPT.

I quit a small OC habit (60-80mg a day) back at the end of April. I haven't been perfect since then... but going from 2000mg+ a month to about 120mg a month (one weekend binge) has of course a great improvement.

ANYWAY... I went in with a couple of friends on an order of a batch of 25 dried Papaver Somniferum pods online from a random supplier. They were called "Large" but since that doesn't really mean too much, I weighed a couple, and they were somewhere around 3.5-4g a piece without the seeds.

For my tea, I did some online research and used a recipe including some of the more common ideas I saw.

I first blended 3 pods (after cracking them open and separating the seeds) with a little less than half a liter of water, a few good shots of lemon juice, about a shot and a half of vodka, and a vitamin C pill. I let it sit for about 5 minutes or so after blending.

I then let it simmer on the stove for about 20 minutes, keeping it just below boiling. I then turned the heat off, and let it sit another 5 minutes to cool. I strained the mixture into a cup using a small metal strainer. I then added a bit of honey and sugar and drank up. I didn't find the taste to be too bad. Kratom was worse tasting in my opinion.

Within about 30 minutes I could begin to feel the effects of the tea, and about 1.5 hours in I was even nodding a bit. Smoked a bowl of good ganja and was feelin like I was on about 20mg of OC.

At one point I went to smoke a cigarette in the bathroom (I don't smoke cigs regularly), I got light headed, blacked out for a second and fell right on my ass. I scraped my arm a bit and it might have hurt if sober, but I was still smilin.

About 4 hours in, I decided to give myself an added opiate kick by railing 20mg of OC. This made the nods pretty regular (basically I felt as though I had done 40mg at once), but I was in my bed watchin cartoons and the end of the World Series game so it was all good.

I went to sleep (if you can call it that) around midnight, having first dosed the PPT around 430pm. I woke up at 130am, and again at 3am... not really sure why that was.

It almost felt like I had been nodding and not really sleeping well. Around 330 I fell back to sleep and woke up about 830am. I'm still kinda tired now but was still able to get a good bit of work done this morning and in a generally good mood.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the PPT. No nausea for me... it felt like a nice combo of Hydrocodone and Oxycodone. I wouldn't have minded a little more energy, but otherwise definitely see how it can cauz people problems.

I have the utmost respect now for the almighty poppy pod and its various alkaloids. Thankfully, I think the effort involved in preparing the tea and cleaning up... combined with my own laziness, will prevent me from making this a regular thing. But it is certainly nice to have around... maybe once a month.

Do you wet the cloth?
I try not to wet to cloth, but if it needs to be cleaned them sometimes it is minimally wet, otherwise no it is dry. Yeah quasi the pods are good and I've worked my way up to 18 over a slow time period, a few months I'd say. Can't seem to get off the shit. Also its not the fact that after boiling the water i lost some that way, because today after boiling it i measured it and there was no water loss at all. Guess everyone is right, its in the grounds. And if thats the case, I've 2 choices. Do a rewash immediately to get whats leftover, or use the rewash with a little more potency the next day before work to help me get through it. All these thoughts and plannings for a plant. Evaporating into the air you say pinkestar..that is a plausible suggestion as well ;)
 
my two methods of ingestion:

  • THE QUICK WAY: take your amount of pod powder (grind as fine as possible) and put it in a cup. add just enough water to cover the powder. add artificial sweetener, lots of it (it dissolves easier than sugar). stir and immediately chug. have a chaser ready to get rid of the grit, but at least you won't taste anything except artificial sweetener.

  • THE ELEGANT WAY: take your amount of pod powder (grind as fine as possible) and take an amount of ground coffee, in a ratio of at least 1:5, depending on how strong your type of coffee-bean tastes. mix together, throw in a "french press" and steep for 20 minutes in slightly-cooler-than-boiling-water.
    if done right, the taste of the coffee will overpower the taste of the pod-powder, except for perhaps a slight bitter aftertaste.
    obviously this method will only work for those with a low opiate tolerance because of the 1:5 pod-powder to coffee ratio, which would have folks with high tolerance tweaking out with all that caffeine. works best with a really bitter & dark roast, the stronger the beans and the more recently they are ground the better.
    i'd often brew a strong batch of this coffee and take it with me in a thermos. when my tolerance was low enough, one sip of my thermos would have me glowing nicely for a couple of hours.

might be a good idea to start with a damp cloth to strain so minimal tea is absorbed...

for the best effects of both.... i dont want to be canceling out my tea with some weird agonist activity
 
Holy fucking shit!!! I know this belongs in the Trip Reports section but I thought you guys might like to hear about it here. I got high on pods last night and at the peak started inhaling Nitronox (50% O2; 50%N2O) and I was in absolute fucking heaven. It was even better than a speed ball and the euphoria lasted and lasted and lasted. I think I'm in love. I managed to get through a whole cylinder! It was beautiful. The detached feeling was lovely.

^Yep I was wondering that same thing. I've tried both methods, with varying results.

Also. Is it best to drink GFJ before or after the pods? I've heard that its not good to drink GFJ before taking codeine (as it can inhibit its metabolization into morphine?), only after, when the codeine has already taken effect. But with morphine, its best to drink the GFJ beforehand right? Well pods contain morphine & codeine, so whats the best procedure?

Anyone know? Cheers.
