^^ thats a large tolerance you got there, to answer your question though i am nowhere near the 100 gram/cup mark.

I was going to post this in its own thread to get an answer fast but thought better of it, so I'll ask here. As part of a extraction procedure I am procuring a 55-gallon oil drum from my local scrapyard for a decent price of £35 (I don't want to get into the specifics of the procedure), but they said it had previousy been used to store engine oil. I am wondering, if I were to add a diluted solvent e.g. cheap denatured alcohol to clean it out, could I get rid of enough of the residue for it to be safe enough to use? I really don't want to waste money on something I can't use but I only found out about it just now and need an answer quick if that is at all possible. Thanks.
also consider just buying a plastic clean new 50 gallon drum off the internet
From the previous thread..

that includes 90% of the people growing them.
In the summer, people have busted me harvesting poppies from their front gardens.
a lot of them didnt believe me that they were growing opium =P
but they were =]
to be honest i dont even know what they look like fresh so i wouldnt know...but ive had a flower box on the side of my house that gets over grow every year im thinking of just droppin some there.
any suggestions on when the best time to plant ?

Poppy pods are very versatile, and hence are capable of growing in many environments. As long as you live somewhere without extreme conditions (Extreme cold, heat, etc.., you should be able to plant them at any time of year. Ideal would be around spring in most regions.
Mold is usually a very dark color and has a fuzzy appearance. I have never seen mold anywhere but on the inside of the pod, so you notice it when you open the pod. Another good way to tell if the pod is moldy is to follow your nose: Mold has a very distinctive odor and you'll likely know when you are smelling a moldy pod. When you find a moldy pod, throw it away. There is nothing we can do to make that pod safe for ingestion.
The little black spots that I believe you are referring to are usually on the outside of the pod and should be safe. Are they on the outside?
First i did a traditional light boil of finely grounded up pods. I filtered through a shirt and got a dark water. I put this under a fan for 24 hours and was left with a very sticky dark goo. I put this goo inside a mason jar and added 190 proof alcohol. I was originally going to make a laudanum but decided to just evaporate the alcohol to see what would be the result. I am now left with a similar goo but is definitly cleaner than it was before. Less dark and less weight - almost amber in color. It almost looks like tar heroin just much more gooey/sticky.
I have already put these in capsules and ate a few and BOY do they knock you on your ass. But...here comes the question that is probably very stupid - but must ask to kill curiosity.
Is this extract i have mentioned (second extraction with grain alcohol - and evaporated) injectable? If not why? I understand it still probably has some plant matter in it but is it really insanely unsafe to inject?
Is there a way to make this into something similar to tar heroin? I have read about this drug popular in russia where they were able to extract to an IVable form from dried pods. Is this what i have done?
How can i further refine this for a safe injectable substance.
as far as those little black dots while growing i noticed that those occured when the pistils touched the pod or stayed stuck to the pod when the flower opened up, they are no big deal. if your petals and pistils have fallen off then the black dots came then i dunno what to tell you
