Technical Problem [MEGA IMG ISSUES] Problems using the IMAGE BUTTON: "Invalid URL"

Image Insert Function Doesn't Work

Whenever i try to insert an image it says its an "invalid url", what does this mean?

It says it takes jpg files but i tried using some jpg images and it still comes up as "invalid url".

Is there something wrong with my account or does this happen to everybody?
 
perhaps this issue should be added to the FAQ if it won't be fixed any time soon. ;)

Let me start out by saying I did UTFSE

How do I insert an image into a post?

Copy the URL of the image in question, then click on the little icon that looks like a mountain, then paste it in, then hit enter. This is a similar issue to above, since the upgrade there is no longer a button for this. Instead you can just manually type out the code around the image again.
. Try previewing your post to see if it works before you submit it.

I have images i'd like to upload, but whenever I copy the image url and paste it where it tells me to, it just says "Invalid url"

What am I doing wrong??
 
You need to upload it to a host website first, like photobucket or any of the other millions of photo hosting websites out there. "Uploading" the picture straight from your computer to BL wont work.
 
Can you still post it even though it says invalid URL? I thought that people said that they just ignored it and it worked fine. Try that.

Post in the Testing Grounds forum, and mods can see what you may be doing wrong, and resolve the problem.

I don't feel like making a photobucket account just to put a picture on the Meme thread :P
 
Just use imageshack. You don't need to sign up, and after you upload the pics, it puts it in forum code that you just copy and paste onto BL.

http://www.imgur.com is another fast, free image host that I use a lot. I'd recommend it. It also removes all EXIF data automatically which is good for privacy as well.
 
Can't post images

Since the updated version of Bluelight I can't seem to post pictures. When I click on the tree the box opens up but then when I put the url in it refuses and says it's invalid.
 
You have to do it manually. Here is the code:

[IMG]insert image URL here[/IMG]

There are also some image hosting sites that put the picture into code for you, so all you have to do is copy/paste the forum code. I use imageshack, and after uploading a picture it gives a few different codes below it, and there is one called "forum code" that I copy/paste onto here, and it already does the image tags for you. It puts another link in to the page after the image code, but you can delete that after you paste it.
 
tommyboy is correct. also make sure that you are linking directly to the image, not a thumbnail or preview picture... in firefox, you can find this by right clicking on the image and selecting copy image location
 
^I'd love to see this fixed.

I make some fairly content-heavy posts in my forum and it would be nice to have this function back
