[MEGA] Home-made/repaired pipes, bongs and vapes.

Found a picture of a nice looking homemade bong, how do I make one like it?

Hey guys, this is my first post on Bluelight. I've been lurking for awhile..
I recently started smoking weed. I have some weed left after smoking with 3 other people (I paid for it, 3 grams). I don't really know how to measure weed, I'm guessing that there's around a gram left maybe less. The thing is though I don't have a piece to smoke it...
I found a picture of a pretty cool looking bong at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/guywho_is/3331221585/

I want to make a bong like that myself because I think it looks pretty awesome. I don't want to use foil or plastic pen tubes to make it.. I would like to make the stem/bowl out of metal like the picture. I'm new to this though and I don't know where to get all the parts. I could probably find a Pom bottle at Wal-Mart or Hyvee, but I don't know what the tool things are. Does anyone know what was used to make it?

btw if you have any other suggestions for a homemade bong I'm happy to consider them. I don't want to use plastic (other than the bottle) or foil. Also, does the one in the picture look big enough? The guy on flickr it says it's 5 inches 3 quarters. I think that Pom comes in bigger sizes, so I could get a bigger one if I find one.

Edit: Thank you for re-opening the thread, Yerg.
Please follow his post from now on:

OP has PMed me, and I've decided that this thread might have HR potential. What I'm looking for here is a discussion of ways to make a bong that is not going to produce harmful plastic or paint fumes. No more dubious building materials please. If this thread degenerates into recommendations of biro tubes and tin cans it will be closed again. Please contribute, but not with hazardous ideas.

As I have said, the way I have done this is to acquire a short piece of metal tube (brass does the job and is cheap). If you are building a shottie like the one in the picture, you can get away with just that, maybe with a socket from a socket wrench to act as a removable "bullet". There is no need for a rubber band, if the tube is long enough, as it will be held in place by the back wall:

Then, get a sturdy, resistant plastic item that will make a suitable body for a bong (my choice pick is one of those big, hourglass shaped cups from a theme park), but you can be pretty creative here. Use a lit cigarette and a knife to make a hole that just fits the tube.

Haha that's an awesome homemade bong. The metal "bowl" looks like a socket wrench piece, which I imagine would work well, as long as there is a way for air to travel through. You essentially need something that has: a chamber on the end, i.e. an opening or hole big enough to put herb into, but not such a big hole that it will suck right through (or, if the hole is too big, use a screen. To "make" a screen, you can cut some window screen or use the little screen that is in the kitchen sink faucet, if you unscrew the tip of the faucet---I'm assuming you can't/won't go buy a screen, or you could just buy a 5-10 dollar glass pipe and skip all this trouble).

You really don't need the bong to be huge, if it's just for you and only for a gram or so of herb. Your steps for making the bong when you've got all the supplies, would be something similar to the following: Take the pom bottle, and drill in essentially the area you see in the picture. You don't need a drill, scissors to poke a hole, and then twist the scissor blade until the hole is big enough for the metal piece, but not so big that you will have lots of space around the outside of the metal piece, you need an airtight seal (or as close as possible). You want the hole so that the metal piece will extend into the water, without having to fill the bong with too much water. Two things, though. If it's not airtight, many things can be used to plug it a bit better, such as gum or tape around the metal piece where it enters the bottle, or even use a lighter to soften the plastic and make working with it easier. Be wary using a rubber band as shown, or with things like tape, as the hotter the metal gets, the more likely anything touching it is to melt.

Just remember this... Making it air tight is the goal here. That determines weather it hits good or bad.

You may as well just buy an plastic/acylic bong. That one is made of a plastic bottle anyway. :\

Although if it's just for fun then go for it. I used a carbide drill bit to make a glass bong out of a funky looking vase I had lying around when I was younger. It was a lot of fun but it was far inferior to a 'real' bong.

Ninja Bong Making

Hey all me again and guese what im high on some goood gear.I thought i would be cool to see/read all the different bongs you guys have made ninja style. When i say ninja style i mean from things you have around the house or you can buy out of a vending machine or school cafeteria.

Heres how we used to make a bong at tafe/collage.Get a plastic bottle we used those fanta bottles with kinda 2 chambers like this

then we would get a hose cut a good length of it off burn a tiny hole in the bottle and fucking shove the hose through the hole then stick my thumb over the hose and suck on the bong to make sure its air tight.then we would burn another tiny hole and just leave it to use as a shotty (makes it easyer to clear the chamber)then would get a can cut a tiny peice of it into a circle then cut the to the middle of it so you can roll it into a cone shape put that in the hose add water and taadaa we got a bong :)

The bong you describe sounds dangerous, burning plastic fumes are not good for you, nor is the burning pop-can paint. In fact, homemade bongs are almost always going to be harmful, especially if they're made "ninja-style". I can't see any HR coming out of this thread, so I'm afraid I'm gonna have to close it. PM me if you want to discuss it.

Welcome to BL OP. We must have different conceptions of "nice-looking". For a start, the way to get the downpipe at the right angle is to have one long enough to reach the bottom or side of the bong, not to use an elastic band. Hot elastic band=elastic band fumes=not very good for you. If you're going to make a homemade bong, please at least do it in a safe way. That means no tape, no rubber bands, no pen tubes, no lengths of hose, no bits of tin can...you get the picture. I'm going to leave this open in the hope that some discussion of "best-practice" in terms of making a bong that isn't damaging to your health emerges. The way that I would do it would be to find a nice, sturdy starting container made of reasonably thick, heat-resistant plastic. Then, you can either source a length of brass or stainless steel tube (for very cheap), or just splash out on a bought stem and bowl (also very cheap).

Unbreakable, smoking off tin can is not good for your health. I don't see anything coming from this thread other than more suggestions to do unhealthy things. Closed.

my friend loves making bongs with the pom bottles.

go buy a metal stem from a headshop, heat the end up and jam it through the bottle at the angle you want.

When i used to make them out of water bottles if the hole for the stem wasnt airtight i just wrapped a piece of gum i was chewing around it to seal it.

I just want to say those are some nice pieces especially blaze 420 and with tha jacket your wearing I assume you must be in the north pole lol. Anyway Does anybody else feel how messed up it is we cant tell each other where we got shit and how much it was. I mean were on a site talking about all the illiegal things were doing and we can't even have freedom of speech here? If someone can explain to me that it is to protect the site from police somehow then I can accpept it but right now it just seems someone likes control and wants to have somebody follow thier rules.

GodricNightfall....this isnt a drug forum...its meant for harm reduction. we are here to educate people about drug use, what to do how much to do and what not to do. to keep people from ODing. think about it. why cant you source? would you want your local headshop to get raided? i dont. but really man its not to keep cops from the sight.

GN:
If we allow people to talk about sources and prices, we'll be inundated with spammers and sellers, the site will degenerate into an online drug bazaar, and BL will completely lose what makes it special. As blaze says, our aim is HR; in some cases, the HR value of an item (sterile needles, micron filters...) is deemed sufficient to override this rule of thumb. Cool pipes do not have sufficient value in this regard. Restrictions on free speech to some extent for a greater benefit are always necessary (ought I be allowed to shout "FIRE!" in a crowded theatre without fear of reprisal?), and this is one such case. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss it further, or take it to the support forum, CD is not the place for a discussion on general BL policy.

This is a "duh" moment to me. Shop piece any day. I remember when I was about 13 or 14 I would always make water bottle pieces using a bic pen and some tin foil. I hear those are rather toxic do to melting plastic.

I'd go with blown glass anyday.
